OLD REV. AL, THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO LITTLE...

If there is one thing that you can always count on in life, it's that you can always count on someone being out there able to prove just how stupid a human being can be. And so it is then that every time I think that I've heard the stupidest thing anyone could ever utter, along comes someone like that faux preacher and proverbial nut job, Al "I ain't got the brains of an ice cube" Sharpton to once again prove me wrong. Watching the video of a recent, and rather strange, exchange that took place on his ratings giant of a television show, where else but, on MSNBC, was like having a tooth pulled without anesthetic. In the video we see old Al doing his best as he tried to corner a Kansas congressman on “fair” tax rates. But Rep. Tim Huelskamp, a Tea Party Republican, was having none of it. Al ranted, “Is it fair that billionaires pay a lower tax rate than their secretaries?” To which Rep. Huelskamp very coolly responded, “They actually don’t, according to the IRS.” He went on to say, “The effective tax rate of these millionaires and billionaires is more than most secretaries unless they’re exceptionally high paid — 48 percent of all Americans don’t pay any income taxes right now, Reverend Al, and you do know that and the president knows that.” It was right about then that old Al seemed to slip a cog.

Old Al, sounding like a broken record, proceeded to go nearly apoplectic, shouting as he repeatedly asked, “Is it fair? Is it fair? One of your candidates for president, Willard Mitt Romney, reported himself that he paid around 14 percent in taxes. The average middle class American — Warren Buffett’s secretary pays 30 percent about. Is that fair?” And again sounding like the only sane guy in the room, Mr. Huelskamp responded, “Reverend Al, the average American doesn’t pay 30 percent in income taxes.” But Al was not to be dissuaded from trying to make his pathetic point, cutting Mr. Huelskamp off in mid thought to ask again,” — Is it fair??” To which Huelskamp again responded, “It’s not true, Al.” “Is it fair? Is it fair? Is [sic] those statistics that I reported that they’re saying are true, is it fair?” Sharpton asked. “It’s not true according to the IRS,” Huelskamp said. “Oh so you won‘t answer whether it’s fair,” Sharpton said. “You’re trying to argue — on the basis of the report, if the report is inaccurate, fine, you stipulate that. I’m asking you, is it fair? is the arrangement fair?” Sharpton, as always, came across looking like a raving lunatic, which is only fitting. It would have been funny if it hadn't been a discussion on such a serious topic.

Anyway, the two continued in that vein, with Sharpton continuing to try to make his idiotic point that the GOP won’t even “discuss in fairness” while Huelskamp repeatedly shot down the entire premise of Sharpton's stupid, half-baked argument. Then, switching to a different tactic, Sharpton proceeded to ask how constituents in Huelskamp’s district would feel knowing that Romney, “who makes more a day than they do a year,” pays a lower tax rate. “Does that concern you as their congressman?” Sharpton asked. Mr.Huelskamp responded very matter-of-factly saying, “Most Kansans I talk to aren’t concerned and worried about what the guy down the road makes, they’d like to keep their own job. They’d like to make a living themselves,” Huelskamp said. But again old Al cut in, ” — but they’d also like to be paying a fair rate, wouldn’t you think that, or you think they don’t care?” “Well there are plenty who’d like to punish others, but that’s not the typical American dream,” Huelskamp said. “How is that punishing others?” Sharpton interrupted. “So let me get this right: For billionaires and millionaires to pay at the same rate as everyone else is a punishment?” Have you ever heard a more insane argument in your life?

With that, Al returned to his previous argument, with Huelskamp repeating that 48 percent of all Americans pay no income taxes and Sharpton continuing to bring up Romney’s tax returns. “Mr. Romney released this himself, congressman. He’s paying 14 percent…you know people in your district are paying a higher rate and you can‘t even say whether that’s fair or not. That’s the problem in America,” Sharpton said. “Fairness in America is not the end result, it’s not the end result, it’s the opportunity. And everybody in America today has the opportunity to get ahead,” Huelskamp said. “I think you‘re absolutely right and I think the only way we’re going to get ahead is we at least have to agree on fairness,” Sharpton said. As Sharpton began to close the segment out, Huelskamp chose to pose one last question: “What is your income a year, Reverend Al?” “My income, I’ll tell you my tax rate,” Sharpton sputtered. “My tax rate is the same percentage as the average person in your district.” “What’s your income?” Huelskamp tried again, to no avail. “What’s your income, Reverend Al? Tell us your income!” Now I'm pretty sure Rep. Huelskamp wasn't really expecting an answer from old Al, but it sure was fun to watch him ask.

This entire exchange very clearly demonstrates the blatant hypocrisy possessed by those who inhabit the left, bozos like Sharpton. If I'd been Rep. Huelskamp I'd have been pulling my damn hair out. But you gotta give it to him, he never lost his cool and when dealing with an imbecile like Sharpton, that can be extremely difficult to do. And I absolutely loved how he turned the tables on old Al. It was perfect. This little demonstration of insanity by Al reveals to what extent those on the left are willing to go in their effort to destroy this country. And sadly, there are a significant number of people who agree with these class warriors like Al "Bull Horn" Sharpton. This is where we are at today in this country. We have folks like Rep. Huelskamps going up against loons like Sharpton on the left. And unfortunately, at this point in time it would appear that the loons may be winning. Which doesn't bode well for the survival of our nation as it presently exists. That's why this next election is so absolutely crucial. The sane ones among us will have to work very diligently to stem the tide of growing leftwing lunacy in this country. If Barry "Almighty" gets reelected, we're toast. It'll be all over but the cryin, turn out the lights, the party's over, Hasta-la-vista baby and adios motherf*#ker all rolled into one!
