OBAMA THREATENING US WITH EVEN MORE CHANGE…GOD HELP US!

In what has been described, by those who like to talk about such things, as being an attempt by Barry to give his re-election a jump-start, we see him having recently held some "hometown" fund-raisers and rallies. At one in particular, he told the 500 or so cheering fans in attendance, “Everything that we fought for is now at stake in this election.” He repeated the message at more intimate gatherings in private homes in Lake View and Kenwood. He fired up the troops in his very first visit to his national headquarters in the Prudential Building. And he even stopped in to his own home for 20 minutes at the end of the night before flying back to Washington, D.C. He hopes the fund-raisers bring in more than $2 million for what he told donors would be a “close race.” He went on to tell those assembled, “If you’re willing to work even harder in this election than you did in the last election, I promise you, change will come. God bless you Chicago, I love you!” he told the faithful who had gathered at the UIC Forum after some singer by the name of Janelle Monae had sufficiently warmed them up.

His “neighbor,” some clown named Stuart Taylor, who is, I guess, an executive with Bear Stearns, if you can believe that, actually told Barry, “Our message to you on behalf of everyone gathered here is very simple and that is: We’ve got your back, despite what you might hear or read.” Is that not one of the most hilarious things you’ve ever heard? But Barry's friends all cheered. This doofus Taylor, went on, “If you look around the room, these are people who were there for you going way back,” Taylor said. “We’re here for you. We’re no less enthusiastic this time around than we were the last time.” Our "Fearless Leader" flew to Chicago on Air Force One, courtesy of the taxpayers, with senior advisor Valerie Jarrett and outgoing chief of staff Bill Daley, who has decided to leave the White House earlier than planned. “I want to say a special word about a friend of ours, a man who has done extraordinary work for me and performed extraordinary service for our country over the past year, Bill Daley,” Obama said at the first event of the night at UIC. “As much as I will miss him in the White House, he will be an extraordinary asset to our campaign. He’s going to be helping us win in 2012.”

Barry then went on to list all the promises that he claims he's now made good on. You know, the ones like his acquisition of our entire health care system; his decision to allow gays to serve openly in the military and, of course, his bringing the troops home, albeit, just a bit too early. Milestones all! He also, of course, took the time to list the issues that he says his Republican opponents were wrong on. Things like education funding, environmental protection and, of course that ever present one, worker rights. Barry slammed his GOP opponents without mentioning their names saying, “When you’ve got the top Republican saying his No. 1 priority isn’t creating more jobs, solving the health care problems; it isn’t making sure were competitive in the 21st century, but it’s to beat me — then you know things aren’t on the level,” Barry said. “They’ll fight with their last breath to protect tax cuts for the most fortunate in America, but they’ll play political games with tax cuts for the middle class.” It was all nothing more than the same old broken record stuck on the same note and playing over and over and over, until you just want to scream.

Playing to this crowd of losers, Barry said, “I’ll be honest with ya: I wouldn’t mind popping over to the United Center — I think the Bulls are playing tonight. They are off to a fine start. You might have heard the Dallas Mavericks came to the White House on Monday to celebrate their championship. I told them to ‘Enjoy it — because the Bulls will be here next year.’” Barry joked about having to return to these donors so often to ask for money. “This will be my last campaign,” Barry assured them. He quoted former federal appellate justice and Clinton White House Counsel Abner Mikva: “Being friends with a politician is like permanently having a child in college: Every year another tuition check. But I’m finally graduating.” I can't swear that his ever-present teleprompter was anywhere in the vicinity, but since he never opens his mouth without it, I can only assume that it had to there somewhere. But then maybe not, I'm sure this was considered as being a very "friendly crowd, where there was really little chance that anyone would be holding him to account if there was something that might accidentally slip out.

Going back to what he said about, “that we fought for is now at stake in this election,” actually what's really at stake here is not so much everything that Barry has "fought for," what's actually at stake this time around is the survival of our country. We simply cannot afford four more years of this guy. Hell, we haven’t been able to afford the first three years of him being the Oval Office. Four more years of this kind of spending and we'll be toast. And what about all of those promises that h claims to have made good on? How have any of those “promises kept” made the lives of average Americans any better than they were before? Who among us is better off today than we were before Barry arrived to rescue us? He has us spending our grand children’s money and expects us to appreciate al that he has done “for” us. But look at all that he has been successful in doing to us! He has reduced us to roughly the equivalent of some third rate European country at best and some impoverished banana republic at worst. Is the future he envisions for us the same one that we not only envision for ourselves, but for children? Think about it!

  1. What frustrates the heck out of me, Dan, is that the supposed 'political experts' on the Republican side of the equation cannot seem to be able to turn the concept of "change" into a negative. I know I can't get this concept across to those "in the know." Grrrrrr

  2. I'm not sure why so many assume change is always a good thing. You would think that when rational people look back over the last 3 years, it would be very easy for them to recognize the fact that the whole change thing might not have been such a shit-hot idea.

    1. "Change" by its very nature displaces something. That's why the older we get the less we adapt to change as humanoids. Unfortunately, this Resident and his minions were successful in juxtaposing the concept of "change" with the concept of "you will get something." Like newly hatched birds, the majority of our fellow citizens are eagerly awaiting for mama bird to feed them.

    2. Which doesn't bode well, I suppose, for our being to push things back into the realm of reality. Have we really allowed ourselves to be reduced to only wanting those things perceived as being "free" from our beneficent government instead of working to be self-sufficient and without government intruding, into what used to be considered as our private lives?

    3. Unfortunately, Dan, we have indeed traded liberty and self-reliance for personal security. And as you are well aware, in this context "personal security" is an illusion. Houdini would be impressed (tic)
