BILL MOYERS, OBVIOUSLY JUST ANOTHER GEORGE SOROS STOOGE…

The esteemed Mr. Moyers has been described as everything from an American journalist to a public commentator, whatever the hell that is. I’d love to see what the job description for that. Anyway, in providing a little background on Mr. Moyers, he served as White House Press Secretary for the creator of the “Great Society,” LBJ from 1965 to 1967 which should give you some ideal of just how far out there on the left he resides and worked as a “news” commentator on television for ten years. Mr. Moyers has had extensive involvement with public television, producing all manner of leftist/progressive documentaries and what he refers to as being “news” journal programs. And, apparently, he has gone on to win any number of highly prestigious awards and honorary degrees, which should really not come as all that much of a surprise since he works to spread the same type of propaganda espoused by the givers of those awards and degrees. He has become well known as a trenchant critic of the U.S. media. Since 1990, Moyers has been president of a group called the Schumann Center for Media and Democracy (SCMD). And it should come as no surprise that he currently lives in that bastion of leftwing lunacy, New York City.

Now I can already hear you asking, just what is this Schumann Center for Media and Democracy? It sounds pretty harmless. Well it’s not! This group states that its purpose is “to renew the democratic process through cooperative acts of citizenship, especially as they apply to governance and the environment.” However if you take a good look at its grant-making, you’ll see that it is directed heavily toward organizations whose values are anti-corporate, anti-free market, and anti-capitalist. SCMD deems the United States a nation rife with economic injustice; the remedy it prescribes is a socialist, redistributionist economic model. In offering up the rationale for his taking part in this group, Mr. Moyers puts it this way, “A profound transformation is occurring in America. Inequality is greater than it's been since 1929. Forty years ago, the gap in terms of wealth between the top 20 percent and the bottom 20 percent was 30-fold. Now it's more than 75-fold. Such concentrations of wealth would be far less of an issue if the rest of society were benefiting proportionately. But that's not the case. Middle-class and working people have to run harder and harder just to stay even, and our social stratification has become alarming.” If this doesn’t tell you something about the philosophy of this guy, nothing will.

SCMD is also a major supporter of radical environmentalist organizations whose goal, as writer Mr. Michael Berliner explains, is “not clean air and clean water; rather, it is the demolition of technological/industrial civilization.” What’s more than little ironic here is that at the same time that it’s plotting against them, the Center is heavily invested in the numerous corporations that it classifies as environmentally unfriendly. So essentially, it exploits, as a wealth-generating vehicle, the very capitalist system which it blames for having created a host of environmental ills. The watchdog website UndueInfluence.com characterizes such an investment strategy as "using capitalist investments to destroy capitalist society." For instance, at the very time when Moyers hosted a March 2001 program condemning the chemical industry, SCMD held large investments in chemical companies. Similarly, while Moyers has hosted programs advocating a reduction in America's dependence on foreign oil, SCMD has earned immense profits from its investments in gas and oil companies. The Center’s investment portfolio contains tens of thousands of shares in such companies as Exxon Mobil, Conoco, British Petroleum, Royal Dutch Petroleum, Ford, Keyspan Energy, Pioneer Natural Resource Company, Royal Dutch Petroleum Company, Dow Chemical, Dupont, Shell Oil, Shell Transportation and Trading, and General Motors.

But anyway, enough about this anti-American group that Mr. Moyers is a part of. I only use it as a way to illustrate just how much of a leftist/progressive this guy really is, and from which end the political spectrum he spews his leftist pabulum. Also to prove that you can never simply take at face value anything that he says. One such example, and the one which this post was written to point out, is when Mr. Moyers just last Friday said that billionaire leftist and certifed loon, George Soros has “been the victim, of course, of Glenn Beck and the right-wing, the Fox News assassins.” Moyers made his idiotic comments in a discussion with Huffington Post founder, and fellow left wingnut, Arianna Huffington, during which he also praised Soros, whom Moyers also said is “deeply troubled by the Orwellian power of the right-wing in this country today.” So here he is, in his own words:

BILL MOYERS: “I’ll tell you somebody you could, you should go for, because he has given more thought to this than almost anyone I know: George Soros, believe it or not. George Soros, whatever you think about his wealth or his politics, George Soros was next to Vaclav Havel I think the most catalytic agent for helping to bring down the Communist government behind the Iron Curtain because he, he gave everybody who wanted one an equivalent of a Xerox machine, and so they could get the message out. And he is deeply troubled by the Orwellian power of the right-wing in this country today. He talks about it. I was on his board for a several years, and I’m off now that I’m back on the air, but I was on his board, and he is deeply troubled. He is a great devotee of the open society, the society that does change because it listens to itself, and learns from its experience. He’s been the victim, of course, of Glenn Beck and the right-wing, the Fox News assassins. So he’s thought a great deal about the Orwellian idea, and he said it has arrived in this country. It is here, part of the permanent, a permanent characteristic of American democracy which is therefore self-suicidally bent because of the power and force of propaganda. He’d be somebody I know would write you a really good piece for that.”

The fact that anyone, anywhere can bring themselves believe any of this drivel very clearly demonstrates the level of success the left in this country has been able to achieve in the brainwashing of our citizens. Because under “normal” circumstances anything that this guy, along with airhead Arianna, would have to say would have been sufficient for them to be laughed off the stage. The fact that they weren’t in this case, and never are, is a very clear indicator of just how much trouble this country is in. These people are nothing more than today’s useful idiots, used by the likes of George Soros in their efforts to completely unravel this country. And apparently Mr. Moyers is only to happy to act in that capacity. I can only assume that he hates this country as much as Soros does. I simply do not understand people like Moyers, because in what other country on this planet would he, one, be able to say some of the things that he says, and two, be paid a lot of money to say them. The American people are going to need to come to grips with what it is that’s being perpetrated against them and be a little more willing to take a closer look at people like Moyers. People need to be willing to question the things they’re told, and not be so eager to simply accept out of hand what these people are telling them, about anything.
