"SLICK WILLIE" AND HIS PORN STARS
Well in amongst his photo ops with various porn stars, it seems that our esteemed ex-president, "Slick Willie" Clinton is heading off to Wisconsin to offer up his support for the challenger to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. Apparently the best that guy can do, as far as getting some 'big names' to campaign for him, are Debbie Wizzerman Schultz and now old "Slick Willie" Clinton. The old "Schlickmeister" will swoop into the state on Friday, as part of a last-ditch effort by Democrats to prevent the GOP incumbent from becoming the first governor in U.S. history to survive a recall. Barry "Almighty" has flatly refused to get publicly involved in the campaign fearing the same sort of embarrassment that he experienced from the Martha Coakley debacle. "BJ" Clinton is only the third prominent Democrat in recent days to appear in the state on behalf of Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.
Tuesday’s election marks just the third time any governor in the country has been made to face a recall vote, and on the two occassions the incumbent lost. I guess "Slick Willie’s" visit is now being considered as a nod, albeit a little late, to the importance of turnout for Democrats in Milwaukee, a supposed stronghold for the party where Barrett must do well if he is to have any chance of pulling out a win. "BJ" was set to appear at a morning rally with Barrett to encourage voters to cast their ballots early. Friday is the deadline for in-person absentee voting. "In-person absentee voting"? What the Hell is that? Isn't it either in-person or absentee voting? Anyway, I think a we all know what spurred this whole cockamamie attempt at a recall. Walker did what he said he as going to do when he initially ran for office and effectively ended collective bargaining rights for most state workers.
The recall election has been unlike anything ever seen before in Wisconsin, with at least $62 million now having been spent by the candidates and outside groups so far. That number is based on a tally released Thursday by the government watchdog group the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign. Walker has been the top spender, coming in at $29 million with Democrats, including Barrett, spending about $4 million. Outside groups have spent $21 million and issue ad groups that don’t have to disclose their spending have put in a least $7.5 million. Devout Socialist, Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, who also chairs the Democratic Governors Association, attempted to fire up Democratic volunteers Thursday in Madison. His visit came after Debbie Wizzerman Schultz, head of the Democratic National Committee, made a similar stop Wednesday in Racine. Next Tuesday we'll see who it is that comes out victorious in this contest.
