Apparently, senior 'Team Barry' campaign adviser, and world class scumbag, David Axelrod is not a very big fan of Florida Senator, Marco Rubio. At least that's what he seemed to imply this past Sunday when he said that handing the vice presidential nomination to Rubio would essentially be the ultimate “insult to Hispanics.” The Washington Post reports Mr. Axelrod as having said, “I think it would be an insult to the Hispanic community to choose Senator Rubio if he thinks that that is somehow—if Governor Romney thinks that’s sort of a get-out-of-jail-free card for all of the things and the positions that he’s taken.” Personally I thought that remark was more than little ironic, and more example of the arrogance that surrounds this bunch, Especially since it's his boy Barry who is the one much more in need of a get-out-of-jail-free card. He's done the community no favors.
The paper describes Mr. Rubio as being someone considered to be a rising star in Republican circles. And a Cuban-American who has become a major voice for the GOP’s efforts to win over Hispanic voters and to project an inclusive image to the country as a whole. Hispanics broke for Barry 67 to 31 percent in 2008. In 2012, Barry may be a bit more vulnerable, which may be the source of Axelrod's frustration and the rationale for his imbecilic comments directed at the freshman senator. Once particular point of potential trouble that may lie ahead for Barry, and one that could alienate a significant number of those in the Latino population, is his recent attempt to force Catholic institutions to pay for birth control. I'd be curious to know what there is that Axelrod thinks might be gained by going after such an obviously bright and charismatic Hispanic as Rubio.
The economy is another rather sore spot that could serve to open up even more doors for Romney to the Hispanic community is the fact that unemployment among Hispanics rose from 10.3 in April to 11 percent in May alone. That's nearly three points higher than what's touted by the White House as being the less than accurate 8.2 percent unemployment for the general population. And as of this point in time, those numbers are not expected to get any better between now and the November election, even by estimations provided by Barry's more prominent Democrat allies. Hispanic unemployment is projected to remain at or above 10% through 2012 in 14 states—including the battleground states of Colorado, Florida, Nevada, and Pennsylvania, and that's according to the liberal Economic Policy Institute in Washington.
This next election will provide to the Hispanic community a great opportunity. An opportunity that will allow them, if they so choose, to become part of the required solution for rescuing our country. The choice for them is one that I would think, is very obvious, but whether or not they will possess the necessary courage to act accordingly is yet to be determined. What it all boils down to is that they can choose to simply ignore all manner of reality and, like the black community, join forces with Barry as he works to destroy any possibility whatsoever of their children ever possessing anything what would resemble a bright future. Or they can act with the rest of us. If they allow themselves to fall for the idiotic rhetoric that we continue to hear from the likes of Axelrod, they will not only spell doom for themselves but for the country as a whole.
