OBAMA TO HOLLYWODD CROWD, "YOU'RE THE ULTIMATE ARBITER OF WHICH DIRECTION THIS COUNTRY GOES"...

Barry "Almighty" basked in the adulation from, and soaked up the campaign bucks of, Manhattan's elite entertainers Thursday as his re-election team sought to add some cash to its fundraising coffers. Barry and the Mrs. made what was a rare joint fundraising appearance when they visited the home of Sarah "Horse Face" Jessica Parker and her husband, Matthew "Mr. Gadget" Broderick. The intimate dinner raked in grand total of about $2 million for team Barry, with 50 people paying the $40,000 price of admission. The dinner was the Barry campaign's latest attempt to bank on reliable leftist celebrities for fundraising help in countering what appears to be a growing donor enthusiasm from Republicans supporting Mitt Romney's presidential bid.

Speaking in what was reported to be a dimly lit, art-filled room, Barry told those supporters in attendance that it is they who would ultimately play a very critical role in an election that would determine the vision for the nation's future. "You're the tie-breaker," he told them. "You're the ultimate arbiter of which direction this country goes." Now if that little statement isn't more than a little scary and isn't seen as revealing a great deal, then nothing will. And it makes crystal clear whose priorities it is that Barry is most interested in advancing. So because these drug-addicted, sex-obsessed, morally bankrupt perverts are able to cough up the required 40 grand for a ticket, they get to be ones to decide in which direction our country goes?

Among the celebrities in attendance to hear Barry's remarks were such leftist notables as Meryl Streep, fashion designer Michael Kors and Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who moderated what was described as being a private question-and-answer session between Barry and the paying guests. Broderick, who is, I guess, starring in some silly Broadway musical, was absent from the little soirée. It was later that same night that we saw Barry and Michelle headlining a second glitzy little affair/fundraiser there in Manhattan, one that included a performance from singer Mariah Carey and some remarks by singer Alicia Keys. Not sure what those remarks might have consisted of, but you can be sure they made no sense. The 250-person dinner yielded the Barry campaign another $2.5 million.

While Democrats have long held political and ideological ties to those in the TV and movie industry, the dynamic is quite different this time around for Barry. With his own celebrity status having now faded a bit, after his more than three years in office, some reliable donors have gotten a little too used to seeing him, they now want more, like, for instance, a real, live movie star. What's more important, Barry's team is currently getting outraised by Republicans in a new, freewheeling environment, one in which wealthy donors can give unlimited amounts of money to outside political groups, known as super PACs, that can end up having huge sway over the presidential race. So all the stops are being pulled out by Barry's team.

As one counter-response, Barry is now borrowing, and quite heavily, on the star power of his entertainer backers. The strategy does hold the potential for peril, however. It allows opponents to paint Barry as being more interested in hobnobbing for dollars from elites than in a middle-class that is struggling just to get by. The Republican Party lampooned Barry as being tone deaf when his campaign promoted the Parker/Wintour event on the same day news broke of climbing unemployment. Pressed about Barry's relationship with the stars, spokesman, Jay "Bone Head" Carney, fired back: "Two words. Donald Trump. Next question?" I'm not sure Carney was trying to be funny or was simply being his very typical smart-assed self. I don't care really.

From Tinseltown to Broadway, Barry has chose to surround himself with all manner of big named leftist: George "Looney" Clooney, Julia "Ain't Aging Well" Roberts, Reese "Bimbo" Witherspoon, Spike "The Racist" Lee, Will "Da Fresh Prince" Smith, Oprah "OWN Is Goin Broke" Winfrey, Ellen "Just Not Funny" DeGeneres, that hag Cher and many others who make more in one year than most us out here on the main street that Barry says he's so worried about, will make in a lifetime. Don't get me wrong, I don't begrudge the fact that they're rich, what I have a problem with is there repeatedly slandering the country that allowed them to become rich. Because if they were to be living in any other country they'd most likely be selling pencils on a street corner.

All of this star wattage comes as Barry's campaign is warning supporters that they need to give, and give a lot or he could actually lose this thing. Central to Barry's strategy is having a larger number of people giving small-to-medium donations. Something I find a little hard to believe is the fact that his campaign says 98 percent of donations received in May came in amounts of $250 or less. "The other side has the money," campaign manager Jim Messina said in one appeal to donors. "They know they can buy the election if they spend it." Now that's more than a little ironic, don't you think? Because who was it that essentially bought the last election. Ah, I believe that would be none other than Barry "Almighty" himself.

Look, the fact that Barry insists upon continuing to take part in these sycophant get togethers with the rich and famous should serve to make it painfully obvious that he's completely out of touch with the 'real' people that actually make this country work and who are now struggling. Hollywood elites have absolutely no clue regarding what it now takes for an average American family to make ends meet. And obviously, Barry hasn't much of a clue either. All these Hollywood types are interested in is gay marriage, the making of certain drugs legal and in advancing what are some pretty radical environmental ideas on the planet. They have no attachment to reality and yet they're the ones Barry's listening to because they have the big bucks.
