JEB NOW SAYS HE SHOULD HAVE RUN...

Jeb Bush recently admitted, that he now thinks that he “probably” should have thrown his hat into the Republican race for the White House and that his chance to win the presidency is probably now over. No offense to Gov. Bush, or to anyone else who might choose to disagree, but at this particular point in time I think we need another Bush in the White House about as much as we need another Clinton. While I was a fan of the last Bush on a great many issues, I was not when it came to quite a few others. For one thing, I think he spent way too much money! For another, I think he gave Barry an out regarding his going in and acquiring two thirds of Detroit.

On Thursday the son of one president and brother of another, told CBS 'This Morning', “There is a window of opportunity in life for all sorts of reasons — and this was probably my time.” But he told show host Charlie Rose that he had not made a decision against standing again in the future. He will still only be 63 by the time of the 2016 election. I would like to respectfully disagree with his assessment that this was his time to give it a shot. I just don't think so. And I'm honestly not sure if there will ever be a time that can be considered as being, 'his time'. He could be the best candidate out there but I don't think folks will elect a third Bush.

Bush also admitted that he had doubts about whether the politics he which he brought during eight years as Florida’s governor would be the kind that would have gotten him the GOP nomination today. “Given what I believe and how I believe it, I’m not sure I would have been successful as a candidate either,” he said. “These are different times from just six years ago when I last ran.” Bush also insisted he will not be Mitt Romney’s running mate in the November election. “I’m not going to do it, and I’m not going to be asked and it’s not going to happen,” he said. And that's probably a good thing.

Personally, what I had at one time hoped for, at least early on, was that he would choose to run for the senate and go up against that moron, Bill Nelson. In fact there were rumors of his preparing to do just that. But, quite frankly, at this point I'm perfectly satisfied with Connie Mack, who I think might be a bit more of conservative than is Bush. I don't know, maybe I'm just reading too much into it, but I think it a little bit presumptive on the part of Jeb to assume that now was his time to run for president and that he may have allowed his opportunity to pass him by. While not being all that crazy about Romney, I'm not sure I'd be anymore crazy about Bush.

Bush also bought up the point that he‘s worried about the direction today’s Republican Party seems to be headed in, going so far as to accuse the GOP of being rather “short-sighted” regarding , what he calls, its failure to recognize changing demographics. In a statement that I don't necessarily agree, with he said, “In terms of the tone of the debate, it sends the signal, ‘we want your support but you really can’t join our team.’” On the contrary, the doors are wide open to absolutely everyone, of any color, who loves this country, and our Constitution and who are willing to do whatever is necessary to protect and defend them both.

Bush also said, “That’s the short term implications of this and demographically, Latino voters and Hispanic voters will be important, but going forward even more so.” Adding, “I think it is short-sighted. I think there needs to be more efforts to recognize the demographics of our country are changing and…how we message our views needs to change as well.” And I agree, up to a point. Look, if Latino and Hispanic voters are looking for nothing more than a free pass for those who are here illegally, breaking our immigration laws, then their objective does not match up with ours. This has to be about saving the country, and only saving the country.

Bush also said he feels Barry might owe “a little tip of the hat” to his brother, former President George W. Bush, for his influence on foreign policy, particularly the use of drone attacks to target terrorists. “It would be nice, a little tip of the hat might be a nice thing, I think it would be helpful for him politically,” Bush said of Barry. “[He] doesn’t owe it…it helps, just a small acknowledgment that the guy you replaced isn‘t the source of every problem and the excuse of why you’re not being successful I think would help him politically.” Ya sure, not likely something to happen anytime soon, if ever. Our narcissist in chief is much too stuck in himself for that.
