In what is yet another bit of very obvious proof and is something that very clearly demonstrates the fact that teachers' unions in this country are essentially running amuck, it appears that the stellar head of the Chicago Teacher's Union, while addressing a teachers' conference in Seattle last month, joked about spending her college years "smoking lots of weed" and "self-medicating." This bimbo would later go on to apologize because, apparently, "there are kids here." "I wasn't supposed to say that, right? Too late," Karen Lewis says in a YouTube video that was picked up by an education blogger and Chicago newspapers. This is the kind of stuff that has been going on for years, and were it not for the internet would still remain well under the radar of the American people. Ideologues disguised as "teachers" have long been given free rein by these leftist union quacks whose only desire is to ensure the successful brainwashing of our children and to rob them entirely of any sense of individuality.
The Chicago Sun-Times also noted that this imbecile, Lewis, is a former standup comedian. Man you gotta be kidding me, a former stand up comedian? This whole scenario should serve to make parents more than a little wary, and asking the question, how was she even able to get into her current position. In the YouTube video, this reject from the comedy circuit also makes fun of U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan's lisp, and wonders if he was "self-medicating" at Harvard University: "He was an athlete, so he might not have been self-medicating, but I wouldn't count on it," Lewis says. "You know he went to private school," she says at another point, "because if he’d have gone to public school, he’d have had that lisp fixed. I know, that was ugly, wasn’t it? I’m sorry.” Sorry? This bitch isn't sorry. Like others of her rabid political persuasion, our public education system is, today, less about educating our young than it is about the very thorough indoctrination of our young.
Of course the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) was quick to run to her defense. In a statement on its website, it says that the “edited” Lewis YouTube video is being promoted by “right-wing, anti-public education advocates.” “Karen Lewis has always been candid and outspoken when discussing the personalities and policies that have adversely impacted public education in our nation,” the CTU said in Lewis’s defense. “The observations she made about herself and other public figures were an attempt at humor and candor before a live audience. Though these comments were made more than a month ago, today they are being presented out of context in order to shift the focus from bad public policy decisions in education to attacks on her character.” I'll tell you what has "adversely impacted public education," and that would be out of control teachers' unions. There is nothing that has proven itself to be more detrimental to our public schools system and to the educating of our children.
Right, so in its all out effort to defend what this pathetic moron said, the CTU now claims that her bizarre and highly inappropriate comments were taken completely out of context. They go on to say that this idiot Lewis was trying to “lighten the mood during a long and serious discussion about the on-going campaign to blame and vilify teachers for everything wrong with public education.” "As a classroom teacher with more than two decades of experience and now as a leader of the third largest teachers union in the country, this teaches me that I can never let frustrations get in the way of carrying out my responsibilities as a leader," the CTU quoted Lewis as saying. You know what's the scariest thing about this whole episode, it's that this totally unqualified airhead is referred to as being a leader in the nation's third largest teachers union. A Leader? You have go to be kidding me! If so, then she must be the star graduate of the Barack Hussein Obama School of Leadership.
The Chicago Sun-Times quoted a spokesman for U.S. Education Secretary Duncan as saying that Lewis has apologized for her remarks about him. "She apologized, he accepted it, and he's moving forward," Duncan's spokesman was quoted as saying. Well Hell, that certainly makes things all better. Right? The one thing you can always count on is the fact that sleazy libs always stick together. Oh, and by the way, Tuesday's Miami Herald has also reported that yet another teachers’ union leader is being investigated for allegedly using union dues to reimburse employees, board members and others for their political contributions. Four of the union’s executive board members are calling for Broward Teachers Union President Pat Santeramo to step down. I have a sinking feeling that what we're seeing here is only the tip of a very substantial iceberg. These unions are a terminal malignancy that's literally destroying our system of public education, and our country, from the inside.
