AND NOW WE HAVE ANOTHER BIG PLUS FOR LIVING IN THE "WINDY CITY"

Well, if you're one of those who are 'lucky' enough to reside in Chicago, besides now living in what is the murder capital of the universe, 506 homicides in 2012, you now have something new to contend with. It's being reported that the city police are now in the process of changing their response time to 911 calls. You see, starting this week, the cops who folks are supposed to be able to rely on, because the Democrats want to leave residents unable to protect themselves, will no longer be responding in big to such trivial things like criminal damage to property, vehicle thefts, garage burglaries, or other crimes where the suspect is no longer on the scene, and the victim isn’t in immediate danger. The stated rationale is that the move will supposedly free up the equivalent of 44 police officers a day for patrol duties. Somehow 44 cops in a city the size of Chicago just doesn't sound like much.

Jim Williams, who is I guess is and enterprising reporter for a local TV station, went seeking out some Chicagoans to get their perspective on this latest development and he found some who think it’s the wrong move for the police. On one block where burglars broke into a home on Christmas Day, Carmen Curio has a strong opinion on the city’s new 911 response plan. "I think that’s ridiculous. I think if there’s a burglary, they’ve got to come. It’s what we pay for. They have to come," she said. Ald. Nick Sposato (36th) said the constituents in his Northwest Side ward pay high property taxes, so it’s not asking too much for a police visit after a traumatic break-in. "People are upset; they want to talk to a police officer. They want to know something is being done to prevent this in the future," Sposato said. Ok, these folks voted for Rahm "Dead Fish" Emanuel, right? What did they expect?

Chicago's Police Supt. Some clone by the name of Garry McCarthy, insisted crime prevention "in the future" happens when officers are on patrol, not when they're tied up taking reports at the scene of non-violent incidents. He said, "I don’t mean to be flippant here, because I’ve been the victim of a burglary at least three or four times." Then this dope then went on to say, "I’d rather have the officer on street, where he can prevent the shooting." Police said they will still respond to 911 burglary calls as long as the suspect is still at the scene, or they’re if they're convinced that the criminal can be arrested right away. If they're convinced? Ok, so how does some terrorized homeowner go about trying to convince the cops that the bad guy is still on the scene without potentially putting themselves in danger trying to determine that? What an idiotic idea!

Sounding more like he was patting himself on the back, more than anything else, McCarthy said, "You’re upset; you’re violated. It’s happened to me. So, you’ve got to weigh it, and I’m making tough decisions." Droning on about his ability to make the tough decisions, he said, "I’m making a tough decision, but I’d rather have that officer on the street, doing something to prevent the next shooting than honestly making somebody feel better, because they’re responding rather than talking to them over the phone." But is he making those decisions for no other reason than as way to deal with Chicago's financial woes. McCarthy said Chicago police respond to 70 percent of 911 calls, compared to 30 to 50 percent in other cities. Police said officers will always take information about crimes at district stations, or over the phone even if officers don’t respond in person. Whoopee!

Oh to be an imbecilic city dweller! Ya know, they vote for those who are nothing more than 'in your face' Socialists, and then they have the nerve to whine when their city proceeds to fall in all around them. Let's face it, the conditions in the majority of our cities all across our land is a direct reflection of those repeatedly put in charge to run them. They are bastions of liberalism so, therefore, how can anyone be surprised by how they turn out? And with all of these various rat experiments now taking place in this country, and nearly all of them arriving at the same conclusion, that socialism never works, wouldn't you think that that would be enough to demonstrate to any reasonably intelligent person, that the direction in which Barry is now taking us, will ultimately end in the same way, but only on a much grander scale. This plan of Barry's is not going to end well except for Barry and others like him. The rest of us will be pretty much goners.
