MORE THIRD PARTY MUMBO-JUMBO FROM A LIBERAL…

We continually hear, from those on the left, about how it is that Americans are becoming more and more inclined to support a Third Party candidate. The most recent piece of speculation comes yet again from supposed star Democratic strategist and pollster, Doug Schoen. He claims to base that opinion on what he says is the growing protest of Occupy Wall Street on the left and the growing strength of the Tea Party on the right. He claims that this shows the yearning of many Americans for a new voice: a third-party presidential candidate. “The signs of dissatisfaction, disaffection and just plain discontent are everywhere in America today,” Schoen writes on Politico. “Occupy Wall Street and the Tea Party movement could not be more different. But both reflect the public’s fundamental dissatisfaction with the state of U.S. life and governance. That disaffection is creating circumstances which make an alternative third party particularly appealing for 2012.” Says who, other than this guy? And why are we supposed to buy what this guy is selling? Nope, don’t think so!

Polls show that Americans have disgusted with political leaders in both parties, observes Schoen, who worked for Hitlery Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2008. For instance, a Gallup poll last month showed a record-high 81 percent of Americans are dissatisfied with the way the country is being governed. Confidence in Congress touched a new low of 31 percent in September. And Barry “Almighty’s” approval rating has once again dropped below 40 percent. As a result, “there is good reason to believe that a credible third party may be on the ballot in 2012 and would garner far more support than most political analysts would expect,” Schoen writes. Being a liberal, might Mr. Shoen be just a bit too busy trying to create something that isn’t there? Granted, people are pretty fed up with Washington, and why shouldn’t they be. We had supposed healthcare “reform” shoved down our collective throat, watched as two of our auto companies were essentially nationalized with control of them then handed over to the UAW and the list goes on.

It just so happens that Mr. Schoen recently conducted a poll for Americans Elect, which plans an Internet convention to select a third presidential ticket for 2012. It already is working toward ballot access in all 50 states. The survey showed that 57 percent of voters see a need for a third party, while only 25 percent think Democrats and Republicans are getting the job done. And 58 percent support the idea of a third presidential ticket, compared with 13 percent who don’t. “Voters desperately want the opportunity to change the political system,” Schoen writes. “Polling showed they are looking for their voices to be heard by electing a centrist alternative to the Democratic and Republican presidential tickets in 2012. They believe, our results show, that this could force the two parties to work together, bringing logical ideas from both.” I think that when Schoen claims that his poll shows that the American people are looking for a “centrist” alternative he betrays himself regarding what it is that he’s truly trying to accomplish here.

Make no mistake, this guy Shoen has a very definite ulterior motive going on here, in his peddling this whole third party scenario. He is a Democrat and therefore not to be trusted. Democrats, all Democrats, put nothing above politics, going to whatever lengths they see as being necessary to achieve electoral success. And I’ll tell you flat out, if those on the right are stupid enough to fall for this whole cockamamie theory, then, in the end, all that they’re going to accomplish is the handing over to Barry an easily executed reelection bid, and one where he can achieve success without his even breaking a sweat. And that, my friends, is the sole objective, or the only reason behind, the third party theory currently being floated by this guy, Shoen. And what’s now so blatantly on display here is a level of desperation that is becoming more apparent regarding the fact that their guy just may actually lose next time around. So it then becomes imperative for them to pull out all the stops in an effort to increase the odds of Barry being able to gain re-election. It’s a trap in which we cannot, we must not, allow ourselves to get caught up in.
