BILL MAHER: MORON, JERK, CREEP AND JUST PLAIN A**HOLE...

Bill Maher once again recently displayed his peculiar brand of brilliance and typically unique perspective regarding those who take up positions that are opposite from his. This time he singled out Herman Cain and Mr. Cain's recent statement that, "if you're not rich, blame yourself' describing comment on The Rachel "Dumb as a doorknob" Maddow Show. In his own inimitable way, Maher said, "This is what really bothers me, this idea that somehow we can all be rich. Among the stupid things and you really have to dig deep to, you know, have that contest which is the stupidest -- that is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard any politician say.” And to make sure that those few who watch Ms. Maddow's program, he went on to say that, "I want everybody to be rich. First of all, if everybody was rich who would do the things rich people hire people to do things for them? Who is going to be my foot man? Who is my toady, my liposuctionist? Rich people need poor people to work for them." Ya know, if, as they say, brains were dynamite Maher wouldn't have enough to blow his rather substantial nose. This is the same kind of drivel that we continually hear from clowns like this.

Maher, besides being one of the biggest libs on the planet, I assume, thoroughly enjoys getting attention for himself by saying some of the most imbecilic things. He sees himself as an instigator, of sorts, for social change and in some instances as a provocateur. But for folks like Maher, I guess any attention is better than no attention. And it goes without saying that he is just one more of those entertainment types who take great pride in saying do as I say, not as I do. Like his fellow “social critic,” Jonathan Leibowitz, he likes to think of himself as some sort of a present day Will Rogers. These people possess of such a high opinion of themselves, and despite the fact that the majority of them barely made it out of high school alive, they're to be perceived as somehow being so much smarter than the rest of us. This political genius added that, "And this idea, that Herman Cain said 'you know, if you're not rich blame yourself.' This is what bothers me about rich people. They don't -- first of all, as Elizabeth Warren said, they don't cop to the idea that they wouldn't be rich if they didn't have this great country which provides the roads, and the schools, and all the other things that would allow them to be rich."

However, the most idiotic comment that he made is the one he saved for last. You see, it’s Maher’s warped opinion that if you become rich and successful in your life, it’s nothing more than just a fluke. Hard work and making the “right” decisions throughout your life has absolutely nothing to do with. It's all just dumb luck. He put it this way, saying, "But also, this idea that they'd never understand that it's a fluke, mostly, that what you do is something that made you rich. Yes, if you threw a baseball a 100 miles-per-hour, or even what I do. I'm not humble about some things. I'm very humble about that face that telling jokes is something that gets you a lot of money. That is a complete fluke and so is owning pizza parlors. Yes, Herman Cain was good at business. Great. He became very rich from it. But what about teachers, and cops, and firemen? You know, all those people we used to say are our heroes. They're such heroes that we pay them like crap." "They do what they do very well. It just doesn't happen to be something that is ever going to make you rich. So this idea that if you're not rich, blame yourself really bugs me but I try to hide it."

Most teachers, and even cops and firemen for that matter, that I know don't go into their chosen profession to get rich. If that is there rationale for chosing any of these professions then they're being more than a little unrealistic and shouldn't complain when they fall a little short. And cops and firemen are among those public employees who enjoy some of the most lucrative health and retirement plans that you'll find anywhere and all at taxpayer expense. Someone might want to explain to Maher that we all, every single one of us, have decisions to make throughout our life, and if our dream is to become rich, then we usually try pick a field of endeavor that would provide the best chance for that dream to come true. Once that decision has been made, then we need to decide whether or not we are willing to put in the necessary hard work to make the dream come true sooner rather than later. So what Mr. Cain said could not be more true. If you're not rich, you've no one to blame but yourself. It really comes down to nothing more than what our individual priorites are and the objectives that we wish to set for ourselves. By simply living in this country you are provided with limitless opportunities, and you reap from them exactly what you sow.
