In preparation for his upcoming appearance before a joint session of Congress, Barry “Almighty” celebrated Labor Day in Detroit, previewing his “new” ideas for job creation and economic growth before a very friendly audience at a rally attended by thousands of supportive labor union members. The opportunity to speak before a joint session demands that there be something big, bold and most importantly, something that’s actually “new” in his latest round of proposals that Barry claims will get Americans working again. While there are any number of things that Barry could do that would actually would improve the employment environment, they are things that Barry will simply be unable to bring himself to do. As has been said many times before, to do these things is simply not in his DNA. This guy seems to think that he can come down from the mountain, read some pretty speech from his, attached at the hip, teleprompter, and can then somehow convince us that his “new” plan will actually serve to get Americans back to work. He is completely averse to doing anything that would actually provide even the slightest incentive, which would then result in encouraging those who actually do create the jobs in this country, to do so. But as I have said on any number of other occasions, Barry has no interest in getting more Americans back to work. His sole goal here is to get as many people as is humanly possible completely addicted to never-ending government “benefits.” Because the Democrats see this, being firmly attached to the government teat, as a way of increasing their voter base.Barry’s speech on Monday was given, where else but, at an annual event sponsored by the Metropolitan Detroit AFL-CIO and was used as a dress rehearsal, of sorts, for the jobs address he’ll deliver before his highly sought after joint session of Congress on Thursday night. Barry‘s appearance followed last Friday’s abysmal jobs report that had Barry reaching a rather unique milestone, in that this report showed that employers added zero jobs in the month of August. Now understand, this was the first time that the government reported a net job change of zero since 1945. The unemployment rate, meanwhile, held steady at 9.1 percent after Barry long ago promised that it would never go above 8 percent. You would think, as would any normal thinking individual, the mere fact that he has now achieved such a stellar accomplishment, that it would be considered as being a repudiation of the policies that have thus far been enacted over the course of Barry tenure. Policies that have been nothing but a dismal failure. And you would also think that such a report would prompt a guy who is supposed to be just so darn smart, to think that it might now be time to actually try, not so much something new, but something that has been proven in the past to actually work. The problem arises because Barry’s desire to do what would actually work to lower unemployment is trumped by his rabid devotion to the failed theory of socialism. Therefore, the only jobs this unscrupulous political thug has any interest whatsoever in “creating” are those jobs which serve to expand the size of government.
The disappointing jobs report, at least disappointing for most people, sparked new fears of a second recession, even though it’s difficult to see exactly when the “first” recession might have ended. And, it is said to have now injected fresh urgency for Barry to get busy helping to get millions of unemployed people back into the labor market, and of course, to help improve his chances of getting re-elected. But let’s be honest here, the very reason that these very same millions of Americans are currently unemployed in the first place is because of the specific policies and the many new draconian regulations that have been put into place by Barry over the course of the last nearly three years. Polls now show the economy and jobs are the public’s top concerns. Public approval of Barry’s stewardship of the economy hit a new low of 26 percent in a recent Gallup survey. Let’s face it, one thing Barry actually did inherit from his predecessor was a 7.8 unemployment rate. The unemployment report also gave Barry’s numerous Republican critics, including those who would love to challenge him in next year’s presidential election, fresh ammunition to pound him with. GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney called the report disappointing, unacceptable and “further proof that President Obama has failed.” Romney is scheduled to outline his own job-creation plan in a Tuesday speech in the Battleground State of Nevada.
Barry’s supposed new and improved jobs plan, as expected, included the much of the same old and tired proposals for new infrastructure spending, those shovel-ready projects that weren’t quite so shovel-ready, that we’ve all heard about before. As well, there was mention of an extension of payroll tax cuts as part of a major jobs package which he will unveil later this week. And once again he challenged the Republicans to find common ground with him. He says he intends to press lawmakers for swift action on those proposals. “These are bipartisan ideas that ought to be the kind of proposals that everybody can get behind, no matter what your political affiliation might be,” Barry said last week. “So my hope and expectation is that we can put country before party and get something done for the American people.” If there is anyone who needs to be putting their country before their party, it would be Barry “Almighty” and his merry band of scumbag Democrats. With this little cadre of corrupt miscreants, there is a long and storied history of always putting their party before everything else, including their country. And when you stop and think about it, there really is absolutely nothing “bipartisan” about anything in his supposed proposals that he “claims” will get millions of Americans back to work. It’s the same old rhetoric over and over and over again. With Barry it’s always his way or the highway, and when the Republicans balk they’re called obstructionists. They’re expected to just roll over and submit to his demands.
Barry used the Labor Day rally with cheering union workers in economically hard-hit Detroit as his trial balloon, and to set what he sees as the requisite combative tone ahead of his nationally televised speech to Congress on Thursday, signaling he that is ready to confront Republicans over their resistance to his agenda. "We're going to see if congressional Republicans can put country before party," Barry told a campaign-style gathering of about 13,000 union members in a Government Motors parking lot. "The time for Washington games is over. The time for action is now." That’s rich, who are the ones who are the most guilty of playing stupid Washington games? Ah, that would be the same ones who, when they had substantial majorities in both houses of Congress, chose to shove Obamacare down the throats of the American people instead of working to reduce the many obstacles that exist which only serve to further hamper employment opportunities for the American people so desperate for work. Barry's jobs speech took on a new urgency after Friday's dismal Labor Department report, which showed zero U.S. employment growth in August and the jobless rate stuck at 9.1 percent. The data stoked fresh fears that the fragile U.S. economy could slide back into a worsening recession and underscored for Barry that his 2012 re-election chances could very well hinge heavily on his ability to re-ignite an anemic recovery and spur job creation. "On Thursday, we're going to lay out a new way forward on jobs to grow the economy and put more Americans back to work," Barry said.
The White House has taken great care to guard most specifics of the plan Barry will lay out before a joint session of Congress. But between what Barry told his audience on Monday, and what has managed to leak out, the package to be presented on Thursday will include nothing that’s really new or, for that matter, warrants a speech before a joint session of Congress. Republicans who control the House have resisted all along such ideas, identifying them as nothing more than wasteful spending. "We've just got to get Congress onboard," Barry said. "Let's put America back to work." Barry said he would push Congress to extend soon-to-expire payroll tax cuts to spur hiring and put more money in Americans' pockets. A payroll tax holiday for workers and extended unemployment benefits were enacted in a bipartisan package in December. Barry called earlier this year for a continuation of both measures through next year. But congressional Republicans have been lukewarm on the idea, with some saying the White House should focus on measures such as broad tax reform that would have a more lasting impact on the economy. Barry also used his Detroit visit to try to rally support from the U.S. labor movement, which backed him heavily in the 2008 race but has shown signs of disappointment with some of his economic policies since he took office. “Dick” Trumka, president of the 12 million-member AFL-CIO, the largest U.S. labor coalition, urged Barry last week to act with "boldness" with an ambitious jobs program and said unions would be judging his plan as they decide where to throw their support in the campaign. Barry got an enthusiastic reception in Detroit with the audience interrupting him with chants of "Four more years." Barry touted the benefits of his administration's 2009 decision to bail out Detroit-based automakers Government Motors and Chrysler. The Barry administration loves to claim that it was its intervention that helped save more than 1 million jobs within the auto sector and other industries it supports. Despite that, the unemployment rate in Detroit was 14.1 percent in July 2011, the latest month for which statistics were available. It is the largest city in Michigan, which is expected to be crucial Battleground State in the 2012 election.
Barry is simply incapable of taking the necessary actions that would result in getting more Americans back to work. His policies have failed, and the rehashing of the same old policies, or referring to them under the guise of some new nomenclature isn’t going to change that fact. He is the biggest impediment to the putting of Americans back to work. The driving force behind his decisions is, again, the devising of ways that successfully “encourage” more Americans to become totally dependent on the government for their existence. And as long he can meet with some level of success in blaming the continuing problems we face with the economy and unemployment on the guy who left office nearly three years ago he remains confident that he can ride out the storm through the 2012 election. We cannot allow that to happen. We must not allow that to happen. This, the most disastrous presidency in my lifetime, more so than even that of Jimmy Carter, has got to be brought to an end. With each passing day more damage is done to our great country, and if this man is allowed another four years in office the amount damage he will be able to inflict upon this country may very well prove to be irreparable.
