ROMNEY, LIKE THE REST OF US, HAS LOW OPINION OF THE MEDIA...

Personally speaking, I'm in complete agreement with Gov. Romney's recent assessment of our pathetic media conglomerate in this country. And I think anyone in today's world who can look at what is commonly referred to as being our "mainstream" media, and not see something that has become so very badly broken is, quite frankly, either a liberal Democrat or blind. I think it is feel pretty obvious to most people that there is no longer possessed by any of today's supposed journalists, anything that can even remotely be described as a sense of objectivity, there's only varying degrees of bias. Look, these people long ago forgot what it is that’s supposed to be their primary responsibility, that being to keep the public informed. The vast majority of "journalists" today are nothing more that mere caricatures of those who come before them, having now morphed into what has essentially become nothing more than the equivalent of some "Saturday Night Live" parody.


So it was than that while speaking to someone that that esteemed “news” organization, Communist News Network (CNN) actually went so far as to describe as a right wing radio host on Tuesday, likely GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney repurposed a phrase once used by good old Hillary Clinton, when he cited a "vast left wing conspiracy" that is brewing in the media and liberal advocacy organizations who are intent on derailing his campaign. I would differ with Gov. Romney on one point, I disagree when he says that this conspiracy is just now brewing, because I think it is well past the brewing stage and has moved on to whatever comes next. Anyway, it was during Romney’s appearance on Breitbart TV and was asked by host Larry O'Connor whether he was ready to take on "the media and these nonprofits groups that are working together." Romney responded saying, "There will be an effort by the quote vast left wing conspiracy to work together to put out their message and to attack me.”

He went on to say that, "They're going to do everything they can to divert from the message people care about, which is a growing economy that creates more jobs and rising incomes. That's what people care about." And he’s right. Those in the media will be working overtime to distort every position in their effort to deceive the American people. Romney's choice of words echoes Clinton's claim back in 1998 that some "vast right wing conspiracy" was behind the sexual harassment charges her husband, “BJ” Clinton, was facing at the time. "I mean, look at the very people who are involved in this – they have popped up in other settings," Clinton said on NBC's "Today" in 1998. "This is – the great story here for anybody willing to find it and write about it and explain it is this vast right-wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against my husband since the day he announced for president." Now we know how paranoid old Hillary is and how badly she needed to find someone to blame for her husband being such a pervert.

Romney said dealing with journalists, many of whom he said are very much biased, has been a perpetual problem for Republicans. "Many in the media are inclined to do the president's bidding and I know that's an uphill battle we fight with the media generally," Romney said, before praising O'Connor for offering a conservative voice. The candidate said he was unfazed by the prospect of doing battle with the left's vast operation. "Democrats know that given the president's record over the last three years they cannot run on that record," Romney said. "They will make this race about anything but the president's record and the economy." And we can see how that process has already begun. With accusations of some mythical Republican war on women, the faux birth control outrage and all manner of other nonsense soon to be splashed across every front page across America as well as being the lead story on the major networks as well as certain cable “news” shows. We’re just going to have to tune it all out.

What we're talking about here is the fact that our “mainstream” media has now gotten to the point where it no longer serves any useful purpose. Unless of course you're talking about its continuing to perform as the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party. The Democrats today get tons of free press and that’s because the members of today’s state-controlled media now see their role as one being to manipulate the public and sway public opinion in favor of the Democrat Party. They were very successful in their efforts back in 2008. They were able to keep many of the more unsavory traits of their man Barry well below the radar of the American people. Those things that did make it into the light of day, Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers to mention just a couple, got there because of the alternative media and building to the point where they could no longer being ignored by the “mainstream” media. Had it not been for the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity and Levine to name only a few, the American people would have never found out what they did. Without a doubt we can expect the same behavior from the state-controlled media this time around as well. Only WORSE.
