THE RETURN OF JEREMIAH WRIGHT...

Barry's friends, Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers

Last week, the esteemed Rev. Jeremiah Wright spoke at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Charleston, West Virginia, as part of what has been described as being a week-long revival event. And in typical fashion for this supposed man of God, he had more than just a few controversial words on a wide array of topics ranging from Thomas Jefferson to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, along with the media and plenty of other targets. If there is one thing we have come to know about this man since he was first identified as being Barry's preacher for 20 years, is that he exudes nothing but the most vile type of hate. Odd behavior, you would think, for someone in his profession. But is it, I wonder? Is this the typical behavior one could expect to see by the pastor of any black church one might wander into? I'd like to think that this guy is an anomaly of sorts, but sometimes I do find myself wondering if such is the case.

“I’m not divisive, the media is divisive,” Wright bellowed, going on to lament the sound bites which he claims were unfairly used to disparage him during the 2008 presidential campaign. Disparage him? He all saw him standing there on the pulpit screaming "God damn America" and has the nerve to claim that it is the media whose to blame? Wright delivered three evening sermons during this so-called revival, choosing themes and subject matter that was much more controversial than alleged media bias. “Believers beware,” Wright preached in one of his "lessons". “There are some conversations you will find yourselves in in which there is no communication taking place.” He went on to speak about Jesus and Pontius Pilate in John 18 in the Bible, saying that they were speaking “two different languages.“ This sermon quickly diverted into his belief that ”the Italian army — Roman soldiers“ were ”occupying Palestinian territory."

Then, Wright found himself discussing U.S. operations in the Middle East, while also taking aim squarely at FOX News personalities Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity. “I was in the military six years and neither Hannity or O’Reilly was in the military,” he proclaimed. And, again, and while using some rather strange analogies for a preacher, he said, “Let me tell you one thing they taught us in the United States Marine Corps…fighting for peace is like raping for virginity. Those are oxymorons, but that’s what we do in the name of regime change.” As well, this supposed preacher showed no affection for Justice Thomas, as he told his audience that, though Thomas “looks like” them, he is “worshipping some other God.” So I guess, if you are prominent black, the rule is that you must always work to continue the notion that rampant racism is still alive and well in this country. It's either that or you run the risk of being shunned and declared as being a traitor to your race.

The good reverend went on to make a rather bizarre comparison, at least for a man who is supposedly a Christian, about the God of the Hebrew Bible and the Lord depicted in the Quran. “The god of racists is not the God of righteousness. The god of the greedy is not the God of grace. The god of Wall Street is not the God of Main Street,” Wright vehemently proclaimed. “Those are two different gods and I ain’t talking about Allah and Yahweh. Those are the same names for the same God.” He continued, taking a jab at Thomas and his Christian faith. “And I’m not talking about black and white…some of ya‘ll think I’m talking about white folk,” he said. “There’s a whole lot of folk who look like you who are worshipping some other God — somebody shout Clarence Thomas. Hallelujah!” Does such nonsense not very clearly demonstrate a seriously disturbed individual? Who talks like this other than someone who is somewhat mentally deranged.

Wright also chose to impart to those assembled his rather skewed perspective on race and issuing a rather bizarre accusation against, of all people, Thomas Jefferson. “There are politicians who are making decisions about you, about your life, about your future, about your family about your children — and the real tragedy is they live in a different world from your world all together,” he proclaimed. “There are people in power right now who have opinions about you based on their privilege of skin color.” And as he spoke about race, Wright’s rhetoric really kicked into high gear. “I am in the text. Pilate was European…Jesus was not European. They live in a world shaped by European standards of beauty, shaped by Moynihan studies, shaped by bell curves — they live in a different world from your world all together,” he told the audience. He is pathological liar and for him to use his position in such a dishonest way, is truly a sin.

“They are ignorant and arrogant and these are graduates of Harvard and Yale setting policies over you based on the stupidity of David Hume…Voltaire, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Thomas Jefferson — a pedophile — Theodore Roosevelt and a racist Supreme Court.” But he wasn’t done there, not by a long shot. “The ignorance and arrogance of white supremacy have the movers and shapers of world policy living in a different world from people of color all together,” Wright raged on. “And the sooner you realize that the better off you’re gonna be.” What a hateful individual, this guy is. There is a very special place in Hell being reserved for this guy. And I have to wonder, how many sitting there listening to this toxic vitriol, were nodding their head in agreement with this lunatic. And was Barry sitting there in the pew nodding his head in agreement for all of those 20 years spent listening to such hateful language?

Early on in this same address, while speaking about Luke 19, Wright took aim at conservatives, saying, ”You will not hear this passage of John 19 preached on Wall Street. You won’t hear this Luke 19 Scripture exegeted in the comfortable pews of the rich folk, the greedy folk or the Tea Party praisers.” It is in this chapter that Zacchaeus, a tax collector, encounters Jesus and subsequently decides to change his ways, pledging to give half of his possessions away. Additionally, he offers to give back four times what he owes to anyone he has cheated. So Wright leaves very little doubt how he views those who call themselves conservatives. Very clearly, the preacher sees conservatives as “greedy folks.” “That is called restorative justice and theology – restore the stuff that the greedy stole from the needy,” Wright continued to spew. For one to use the Bible to justify one's insane theory is, I think, dangerously close to being blasphemous.

So like that proverbial turd in a punch bowl, Barry's preacher of 20 years has once again floated back to the surface to spread what can only be described as being his rather unique brand of racial hatred. This is what comes from electing someone like Barry "Almighty." And, no, I am not referring to his race, what I'm talking about is his apparent hatred of this country. Because when our president hates our country it suddenly becomes much more fashionable, even encouraged, for others to jump onboard the hate train and lay all manner of sins committed against the world at the feet of that country which has been responsible for doing more good than any other country in history. We know that Barry has had numerous and very questionable associations, which do not begin or end with Wright, throughout his life. And these people are now seeing what they perceive as being the green light to openly offer up all manner of slander against this country.

I think that it would be more than a little naïve on our part to assume that Barry has somehow managed to remain completely unaffected by his many highly suspicious liaisons. It's obvious that the number of people who Barry has been close to and who can safely be described as being somewhat radical in their views has been quite substantial. Hence his continuing effort to keep his past shrouded in secrecy. Much has rubbed off onto Barry over the years, as evidenced by the fact that they seem to have had a considerable effect on how it is that he has come to view this country. You can hear it in nearly every speech that Barry reads. Granted the rhetoric may be toned down a bit from the ravings that you normally hear from many of his known associates, including the lunatic Wright, but the general concept remains very much the same. That is the reason this man, can not, must not, be re-elected this November.
