OK, SO HOW MUCH SENSE DOES THIS MAKE???
And now the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy has provided to us yet another example of truth being much stranger than fiction. This one centers around the fact that the hurricane-ravaged east coast has been receiving some much needed help for the folks in north Alabama. But, and this is where things start to get a little screwy, some crews learned they'll be doing work in Long Island, New York instead of in New Jersey. And why might that be you ask? Well, believe it or not, crews from Decatur Utilities and Joe Wheeler out of Trinity, AL, headed up there this week, but Derrick Moore, one of the Decatur workers, said they were told by crews in New Jersey that they can't do any work there since they're not union employees. Can imagine something so stupid as that?
The crews that are in Roanoke, Virginia say they are just watching and waiting even though they originally received a call asking for help from Seaside Heights, New Jersey. But those crews were told to stand down. In fact, Moore said the crew from Trinity is already headed back home. Understandably, Moore said they're frustrated being told "thanks, but no thanks." Huntsville Utilities said they were not turned away and are up in storm ravaged areas working. Personally, I would think that the areas that are receiving non-union help will most likely recover MUCH sooner than those controlled by unions. And I'll you something else, it would have to be a cold day in Hell before you'd ever find me headed in that direction to help any of these thankless
This kind of crap is pretty standard operating procedure for states in the northeast. Now you would think that getting things back on line so that people can get their lives back on track would be what's paramount. But that's now how liberals thinks. And it's liberal who are in charge there. But they wouldn't be in charge if the people haven't voted for them. So, essentially, the residents in these locales are getting exactly what they voted for, NOTHING! The rational person wouldn't care whether these saviors who are willing to give of themselves, are union controlled or not, any help they get to enable them to get all the repairs done in a much FASTER manner so that they can get power back on to the millions that do not have power now. should have been welcomed with open arms
It's really kind of a shame that they would turn on those fantatic and very willing southern Alabama utility workers who out of their concern for their fellow Americans took the all out effort to travel the distance and go out of their own way with their own tools and job equipment to help those less fortunate after a devastating hurricane storm hit their state and surrounding area so badly that billions in damages and millions of people with no place to live or stay have happened. God Bless those that did not make the decision to turn our people away and send us back home. They should have let us go to work with their own utility workers and let us help them get all the power back on in their region. Like I said, it's shame that they got turned away, but on the other hand, it shouldn't have come as a big surprise either.
