AND YET THAT CALL REPUBLICANS THE OBSTRUCTIONISTS…

So we’re now beginning to see how it is that the Democrats define ‘compromise’. With Democrats already balking at even discussing any significant cuts to entitlements, they remain quite defiant in their demands for higher taxes on those whom they define as being "rich." For his part, Barry has offered to raise the Medicare eligibility age from 65 to 67 as part of a larger deficit-reduction package, but even that is a move that’s sure to anger some congressional Democrats who want to exclude, altogether, entitlement programs from any talks about avoiding that much talked about fiscal cliff. And yet, Republicans are still supposed to go just along with the tax hikes that Democrats like Pelosi are demanding

Democrats already have criticized Republicans over proposed cuts to programs such as Social Security and Medicare, and with Barry at least putting up the appearance the he may be open to some program changes, most Democrats appear to be taking a much harder line. "As long as the entitlement programs are part of a cut program, I can't support it," Rep. Raul Grijalva, Democrat, told Fox News, calling such cuts a political and fiscal "mistake." "Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security -- we should deal with them ... separate and beyond the discussions that tie their existence to this debt ceiling discussion." Ok, so what kind of nonsense it that? Such talk should not move us beyond square one.

And then we have old Stretch, Nancy Pelosi, who has said any budget agreement to avert the so-called fiscal cliff must raise tax rates on the highest earners, which as we all know is also a step backed by Barry "Almighty." Pelosi said on ABC’s "This Week," the she couldn’t accept any budget deal that doesn’t raise tax rates on the wealthy. She said she’s optimistic that an agreement can be reached, possibly by mid-December, and that eliminating tax loopholes won’t raise enough revenue on their own. "Just to close loopholes is far too little money," Pelosi said in the interview. "If it’s going to bring in revenue, the president has been very clear that the higher income people have to pay their fair share."

Barry and Congress are negotiating a deal now to prevent more than $600 billion of automatic spending cuts and tax increases scheduled to take effect in January, which would deal a fresh blow to the still-struggling U.S. economy. Pelosi said negotiators are urgently working to keep that from happening. Pelosi claims, "The spirit at the table was one of ‘everybody wants to make the best effort to get this done’." Going on to say, "Hopefully that is possible; hopefully it is possible by the middle of December so the confidence of the markets, and most importantly the confidence of the consumers, returns to infuse our -- our economy with -- with demand, which creates jobs."

This is just one more example of how these slimy Democrat want the cake and to eat it too. They refuse to even talk about entitlements and yet refuse to make any deal that doesn’t include tax hikes. Once again, it’s their way or the highway, and I worry that our limp-wristed GOP leadership possesses the requisite political courage to tell the Democrats, including Barry, to go screw themselves. That either everything is on the table, or nothing is. We simply cannot afford to cave yet again, these scumbag Democrats must be made to concede on entitlement reform. And if Boehner and Cantor aren’t up to the task, then maybe we need to start looking for replacements.
