WE DON’T HEAR “OBAMACARE” MUCH ANYMORE…
I have made it abundantly clear, and on a number of previous occasions, that I have a rather low opinion of Democrats and ‘Old Gasbag" Steny Hoyer in particular. He is essentially nothing more than a rabid socialist, which, I suppose, should come as no surprise since he hails from the People’s Republic of Maryland. And it was recently that old Steny made a bit of an admission regarding his zealousness to apply credit to Barry for that which now seems to have many people, and more every day, or so it would seem, extremely pissed off at both Barry and the Democrats because they feel they were lied to. But then, that would only be because they were lied to. REPEATEDLY!
You see, old Steny now says he regrets that he has used the moniker "Obamacare" in making reference to Barry "Almighty’s" signature healthcare program. He recently said, "Yeah, I wish I hadn't called it 'Obamacare' before, because that has politicized it and has been used by Republicans as a pejorative term," Hoyer said. But then I seem to recall, and not all that long ago, that even Barry was more than happy to run around referring to this debacle in the very same manner. These days though, you rarely hear it being referred to as "Obamacare", unless, of course, it’s the Republicans doing the talking. Democrats now stick to the official title, "The Affordable Care Act."
The White House decided to embrace 'Obamacare' rather than fight it, even encouraging supporters to use the Twitter hashtag "#ilikeobamacare." In fact, it was back in 2012 while at a fundraiser in Atlanta, that Barry very proudly declared, "You want to call it 'Obamacare' — that's okay, because I do care." He also told a University of Denver audience that same year, "I actually like the name. Because I do care — that's why we fought so hard to make it happen." Well, as I mentioned earlier, these days it’s a pretty rare event when you hear any Democrat, anywhere, refer to this blatant attempt to nationalize our healthcare system as anything other than the "Affordable Care Act."
And according to the Washington Times, old Steny told reporters just this past Tuesday, "The Affordable Care Act is the Affordable Care Act" and a fundamentally positive development for Americans. "You know what Obama says, though, which I think is correct?" Hoyer remarked. "He says it's going to be called by the Republicans — Obamacare — right up until the time it works." Actually, it will be called Obamacare right up until that time when we’re finally able, and I’m quite sure with help from some Democrats, to get rid of it. Many Democrats remain quite convinced that it will actually be an issue that they will be able to run on for the midterms next November.
So I guess we’ll see if that comes to pass. Right now I wouldn’t be willing to bet the farm on it. And I’m sure that both Barry and those Democrats who are up for re-election will be pulling out all the stops in their efforts to blame Republicans for the fact that Obamacare is the failure that it is. But we knew it was going to be, people were warned about how this thing was going to be a fiasco three years ago. And for the life of me I can’t see how they hope to pin blame on the very ones who were ask to provide no input, were not asked to participate in drafting the legislation, and none of who, in the end, chose to vote in favor of it. But they’re Democrats, and so will try because it’s all they have.
And so now, Barry "Almighty" has vowed, and very forcefully so, that this thing called Obamacare will not be repealed "as long as I am president." Which is, I guess" the political equivalent of "over my dead body." And I must admit, that there is nothing that would give me greater pleasure than to have this arrogant son-of-a-bitch be made to choke on those very words! But how best to do that, that is the question. Barry seems to be under the impression that we the people simply have no choice but to comply with what are, essentially, ‘his’ demands. We must obey, or face the consequences that will surely come our way should we choose to resist. But resist we must.
