Have you ever asked yourself just what Rev. Martin Luther King might think of the modern day NAACP? Now granted I’m not black, but after having read a few books of which he was the main topic, I can’t help but think that he would, most likely, be more than a little disappointed. Also, I think he’d be quite upset to see just how his legacy has essentially been shanghaied by those who profess themselves to be the ones who were responsible for carrying on that legacy today. You know the ones, guy's like those two faux reverends, Jackson an Sharpton. But that, I suppose, should be the topic of another discussion. Anyway, the topic for today has to do with the fact that we have a NAACP today that is apparently much more concerned with perpetuating voter fraud and much less about anything that has to do with the "advancement" of colored people. Because being riled by state-level voting law changes that it alleges are designed with no other purpose in mind that to suppress “the political participation of people of color, the poor, the elderly, and the young,” the NAACP is now turning to the U.N. Human Rights Council (HRC) for support. In other words, this group is has now become so desperate in its desire to assist the Democrats in their effort to sabotage our electoral process, there is nothing that it will not stoop to.
Apparently, NAACP president, and Democrat stooge, Benjamin Jealous, along with some other rather stellar association representatives, plans to visit Geneva next week for the specific purpose of addressing the HRC, a forum that frequently witnesses clashes between Western democracies and repressive states. What these dopes who comprise this little NAACP delegation hope will happen is that the HRC will take up its concerns about legal initiatives such as voter ID laws passed by more than a dozen states, which proponents say are designed specifically to prevent voter fraud but the NAACP charges are part of some orchestrated campaign to disenfranchise minority groups. “We are hoping they will come over here, look at the impact of these laws, look at the intent, and actually render their recommendations about what actions we should take with regard to these laws,” is what USA Today supposedly quoted the imbecilic Mr. Jealous as saying during a media conference call on Thursday. Look do these pathetic clowns really think that they are fooling anyone here? I mean really, can they be that stupid? This entire exercise is nothing if not totally transparent, and if they think they are really fooling anyone here, they're bigger morons that even I give them credit for being. This is nothing but another ploy carried out at the behest of the Democrat Party.
And something that is being referred to as the NAACP’s "Stand For Freedom Pledge" is what has been identified as being the "centerpiece" of this silly little ongoing campaign, and is said to actually include a appeal for “[t]he United Nations to investigate and condemn voter suppression tactics in the United States.” This dolt, Jealous said the HRC would also be given a copy of what is described as being some NAACP report which, or so the association claims, will very clearly show that there are “direct connections between the trend of increasing, unprecedented African American and Latino voter turnout and an onslaught of restrictive measures across the country designed to stem electoral strength among communities of color.” This "report" supposedly charges that those states which have passed the measures are, not coincidentally, those with fast-growing black and Latino populations. Right! I think it pretty safe to assume here, that this "report" is most likely much closer to being a work of pure fiction than it is, in any way, an accurate portrayal of the facts regarding this important issue. “It is no mistake that the groups who are behind this are simultaneously attacking very basic women’s rights, environmental protections, labor rights, and educational access for working people and minorities,” Jealous said at the time of the report’s release.
The HRC is currently in the middle of one of its month-long sessions. Next week’s agenda includes, on Tuesday and Wednesday, discussions on “issues pertaining to national or ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities.” I think it important to make note here what a joke this group really is. Because of this "Human Rights" council’s 47 members, 12 of them are ranked as being “not free” and another 14 as being only “partly free” according to the annual rankings by Freedom House. Longstanding members of this unique little club, which provides a clue to what a sham it is, include those bastions of freedom, China, Cuba and Saudi Arabia, three of the world’s 17 most repressive regimes also according to Freedom House. The Barry "Almighty" administration chose to join in 2009, reversing its predecessor’s policy of shunning the council. What action this twisted U.N. body may take in response to the NAACP visit is unclear but should be of little consequence regardless. Supposedly the HRC has two so-called "specialists" who could conceivably be called in to take part in any "discussion", the “independent expert on minority issues,” currently Rita Izsak of Hungary; and the “special rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance,” currently Mutuma Ruteere of Kenya. A couple of staunch leftists, I'm sure!
A predecessor of the current Kenyan special rapporteur, Doudou Diene of Senegal, paid a formal visit to this country back in May-June 2008. In a report he prepared for the HRC afterwards, Diene said he had visited Washington D.C., New York, Chicago, Omaha, Los Angeles, New Orleans and the Gulf coast, Miami and Puerto Rico, and had held meetings with state institutions, civil society organizations, minority communities and “victims of racism.” Although he cited “decisive progress” in the legal and political fight against racism, Diene also declared that “the historical, cultural and human depth of racism still permeates all dimensions of life of American society.”
Among this clown's more ludicrous recommendations were:
1) Congress should establish a bipartisan commission to evaluate progress and failures in the fight against racism;
2) The government should reassess existing legislation on racism and intensify its efforts to enforce federal civil rights laws; and
3) The government should clarify to law enforcement officials the obligation of equal treatment and, in particular, the prohibition of racial profiling.
Ok look, I think it's pretty safe to say that what we have as being the bottom line here is the fact that what this little cadre of losers is really attempting to do here amounts to nothing more than coming up with yet another very inventive way of doing the dirty work of the Democrat Party. Which, I can only assume, they are fine with. This pathetic group has been a permanent fixture of the Democrat plantation for decades now. And it's exactly this type of behavior that very clearly demonstrates the obvious lack of any self-respect that this group, as a whole, has for itself, that it would actually permit itself to be used as the perpetual flunky of a very corrupt political party. It just goes to prove what it is that truly motivates these people, and it's not the helping of less fortunate minorities, far from it. This group that was initially formed with the best of intentions has, over time, allowed it's good name and reputation to be abducted by those whose motives are suspect and whose character is nonexistent. And the true losers in all of this are those for whom this organization once served as being the voice. These days its leaders seem to be perfectly willing to slither around in the political sewer with their taskmasters in the Democrat Party. It has now become less about helping people than it is about maintaining a seat at the Democrat Party table.
