That's apparently how one more of Barry's useless cabinet officials views it. You see, our highly esteemed, and somewhat useless, Secretary of Transportation, Ray LaHood, made just an assessment while standing on the back of a train in Vermont, where he proudly proclaimed, "Baloney! The stimulus worked." This rather idiotic proclamation from LaHood followed his equally idiot remarks about 30 second advertisements "about the fact the stimulus didn’t work." Look, it doesn't take much to be able to recognize the fact that this so-called stimulus was nothing more than a way for Barry to pay off his many political cronies. Nor does it take a great deal of intelligence to see through the claim that somehow without it, "things would be so much worse." Guys like LaHood can make all the proclamations they wish about what a boon this great and wondrous stimulus was and how absolutely brilliant Barry was in signing it. But the sad truth of the matter is that it did nothing more than two siphon off 900 Billion taxpayer dollars and into bottomless hole.
"That is what this is about today. A good use of stimulus money and I know they’re not running any thirty second ads up here about the fact the stimulus didn’t work, because people here know better. In some places in the country they’re trying to say to people ‘the stimulus didn’t work’ – Baloney! The stimulus worked, this is it," LaHood said in his rather obvious attempt to slap some lipstick on Barry’s stimulus pig. But that doesn't make it any less of a pig. LaHood was joined by none other that noted Socialist from the rather bizarre little state of Vermont, Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Democrat/Socialist, Peter Welch also from Vermont, at an event recognizing the upgrade work on tracks used by Amtrak’s ‘Vermonter’ line. A portion of video (above) from the event has surfaced online. According to recovery.gov the silly little website that supposedly tracks stimulus spending, the Vermont Department of Transportation received $50 million dollars for the rail upgrade work a project that ultimately created a whopping 7.82 jobs.
And besides all those jobs, this much needed rail work will also "enable the scheduled running time for the Vermonter to be reduced by about a half hour," according to a Department of Transportation press release. Well, Hell, then that makes it all worth it, right? That same release also claims that the project received $52.7 million in Recovery Act funds. During the entire last four years we have watched as this administration has moved from one costly boondoggle to the next. In the meantime, for the first time in our history, our credit rating has been reduced, and we now have 23 million folks unemployed, 47 million on food stamps and 100 million forced onto some form of government 'assistance.' I can only hope that there is a majority of Americans who are bright enough t see past all of this idiotic pabulum coming from guys like this imbecile, Lahood. We're headed down a dead end street with a brick wall at the end, and all that the current regime, headed up by Barry, wants to do is to pretend that everything is just fine.
