HOW IS IT THAT THE WORST PRESIDENT SINCE JIMMY CARTER, LEADS IN THE POLLS?

Well, that may not be such a mystery after all. I'm not sure how many of you might be like me, but every time I see a new poll that has Barry leading, or even tied, I get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I try to tell myself that you can't trust very many of these polls because, more often that than not, the folks taking them want Barry to win and they are desperate to convince us that he is somehow invincible. To my way of thinking Romney, on his worst day, would be infinitely better than Barry on his best, when it come to moving this country beyond the current, and continuing, craziness.

I've been told that ever since the arguably skewed CNN poll of a few weeks back, there are conservative voters, like me, who have been questioning the methodology of many polling companies and looking at these polls with an increasing amount of skepticism. The fact that most polls have used a model that tries to mimic the voter turnout in 2008, when Democrats beat Republican turnout by 7 points, as opposed to presidential elections like 2004, where turnout between the two parties was relatively even, has not improved this state of affairs.

And now, the suspicion of poll bias appears to have yet one more piece of evidence that supports that the basis for that skepticism. Via a tweet by anonymous poll analyst NumbersCruncher we have the graph at the top of this post that clearly shows the degree of oversampling of Democrats employed by the most recent polls, all of which, of course, show Barry leading Romney. It just goes to show you the amount of disinformation that is flying around, all in an effort, to make those of us who wish to see Barry defeated think that all of our efforts will, in the end, only serve to be fruitless.

Blogger keithbacker at Battleground Watch sums up the graph this way: "The real take-away which I have mentioned the times I blog national polls is that many of those national polls are HORRIBLE for Obama, namely the ABC/Washington Post and CBS/New York Times polls where you have large Democrat over-samplings but rather small leads for Obama. This means if Obama doesn’t meet or beat his stellar 2008 turnout advantage he’s in for a drubbing on election day. These over-samplings serve a few purposes but mainly drive down enthusiasm for Republicans while assisting the Obama campaign with “bandwagon” supporters who simply like being on the winning team (they’re real and they count)."

This is a telling bit of information, and shows the power of polls to become a self-fulfilling prophecy, which in this case we cannot allow to have happen. Granted, most of the polls using a high Democrat oversampling may be doing so simply as a means to estimate, conservatively, what could happen, if things stay the same as in 2008. This is not unreasonable, given the enthusiasm gap that has recently been measured, but that enthusiasm gap is itself arguably reinforced by the polling. The Romney ground game will need to push back aggressively if it wants to make up for that negative feedback loop. Just from my layman's point of view, I would think that they need to get a bit more aggressive.

While I realize the only poll that truly counts is the one conducted on Election Day, all of these bogus polls leading up to that all important day can, and do, have an impact. People may decide that if the race is already lost, there's no point in voting, which is what I think may be the primary motivating factor behind all of these polls that seek to portray Barry as being unbeatable. But haven't you got to be pretty stupid to want to re-elect a guy who has pretty much destroyed everything that he has come into contact with? Let's face it, looking back over the last for years, what if anything provides any incentive whatsoever to vote FOR him again.

Now I realize the only incentive blacks need to vote for him again is pretty basic. Barry's black, so by golly that's good enough for them! But for those of us who need something a bit more substantial than that in order for him to actually earn our vote, there's just no there, there. He's managed to destroy our economy, has us so far in debt even our kids grand kids will still be working to pay it off, he's essentially seized control of our healthcare system and he's responsible for the credit rating of this country to have now been downgraded, TWICE! And somehow I should vote for him again? Not only no but, HELL NO!!
