NO MORE CHICK-FIL-A FOR ME, 'FOREVER'!!

For those of you who took part in "Chick-fil-Appreciation Day" and who now are feeling a sharp pain in your back, I can tell you the cause. It's the knife that's been shoved into your back by the folks over at Chick-fil-A. In their effort to show appreciation for all of you who supported them, it appears that those gutless wimps over there have now officially stopped funding all traditional-marriage groups in an effort to open a new Chicago restaurant. And in what reveals them, very clearly, as being not only pathetic cowards but blatant hypocrites as well, the company initially kept quiet about their decision, prompting gay rights groups to speculate that the company feared a backlash from conservative customers.

And in what can only be a clear demonstration that their 'values' seem to come with a price, this supposed Christian-rooted fast food restaurant agreed to stop all funding of groups such as Focus on the Family that oppose same-sex marriage. The agreement came in a meeting with the Chicago Democrat who had been blocking the company’s move there. Chick-fil-A wrote a letter to this Alderman Joe Moreno affirming this, but the company initially wouldn’t allow his office to release the letter to the public. It took three weeks, but they finally relented. But I'm sure if they could have come up with a way to never release it, I'm sure they never would have.

"There was concern from them," said Anthony Martinez, executive director for an outfit called the Civil Rights Agenda, the Illinois lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender group that 'negotiated' with both Chick-fil-A and the alderman to stop funding for so-called anti-gay groups. "They really didn’t want to announce it, really, but, of course, the alderman needed to clarify why he was changing his stance on them opening a restaurant within his ward." I'm sure it goes without saying tat Chick-fil-A did not bother to return requests for comment, and has previously said it will not discuss the issue with the media. Of course not, because what they're hoping for, is that this will all just fade away. We can't let it!

This dolt Martinez said Chick-fil-A told the alderman that they will no longer fund groups that support traditional marriage through their charity arm, the WinShape Foundation, and will instead use that money toward educational programs and food donations. "The WinShape Foundations is now taking a much closer look at the organizations it considers helping, and in that process will remain true to its stated philosophy of not supporting organizations with political agendas," Chick-fil-A wrote in the letter. Now does that sound like a cop out or what? Or, is it just me? I mean really, what a crock of shit! That's trouble today, no one's willing to take any kind of a stand!

And Chick-fil-A also sent some pansy-assed internal memo called "Chick-fil-A: Who We Are" in which it stated the company will "treat every person with honor, dignity and respect-regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, sexual orientation and gender." Yup, by golly, that's standing up for your beliefs alright. I'm betting there are a whole lot of people out there who are now feeling like maybe they were a little taken advantage of or maybe even like they've been thrown completely under the bus by these corporate hypocrites. Many of these people took time out of there day to rally behind this company, and what do they get for their loyalty? Nothing but a sharp stick in the eye, that's what.

This clown Moreno actually called this a win for gay rights. "Prior to today, Chick-fil-A had a poor record when it came to acknowledging equal rights for all of our citizens, regardless of their sexual orientation," he said. "But today, we have a new path: For the first time, Chick-fil-A has changed their practices and promised the workplace protections that all of our citizens deserve. Instead of being a company that openly promotes discrimination, Chick-fil-A has vowed to move forward." Gee, shades of Barry "Almighty" and moving 'FORWARD.' So is this how Chick-fil-A defines moving forward? Really? Forward into what, exactly? I shudder to think!

And I'm sure this little 'agreement will go a long way in helping in other areas, such as Boston and San Francisco, where slimy Democrat politicians vowed to oppose new Chick-fil-A restaurants. The Civil Rights Agenda was also happy with the move, but as these creep are never satisfied, said there is much more that needs to be done. "We’re very pleased with this move," Mr. Martinez said. "We think it is a big step forward." The group would also like to see Chick-fil-A include an anti-discrimination policy in the company’s employee handbook. He said companies in many states are still allowed to discriminate against gay and transgender people, so a company policy would help prevent that.

The restaurant’s decision comes less than two months after Chick-fil-A sparked a nationwide controversy when President Dan Cathy told a Christian news outlet that he supported traditional marriage. Gay advocacy groups took that to mean that he was anti-gay. They also pointed to the company’s funding for groups that oppose same-sex marriage. Many called for a Chick-fil-A boycott, while others joined in a gay "kiss-in" at the restaurants. But religious supporters fought back, turning out for "Chick-fil-Appreciation Day," which happened to be the most successful day of business in company history. But no more! This is still a free country, and I'm free not to go to Chick-fil-A.

This is but one more example of why the moral decay of this country continues to march forward and at what seems to be an ever increasing rate of speed. Those who came rushing to the defense of this company thought that they had finally found someone willing to stand up to the degenerates so determined to bring our society down to their sleazy level. But nope we were mistaken. Sadly their profit margin turned out to be a bit more important to them there are there supposed Christian values. Well, like I said at the beginning here, it's gonna be a pretty cold day in Hell before I ever cross the threshold of another Chick-fil-A store. I detest being lied to or used.
