IS THIS SUN RISING OR IS IT SETTING? |
I'm more than a little curious here on how it is that when Barry speaks exclusively to those 47 percenters, those who pay absolutely nothing in taxes, and goes about portraying the rest of us as being the reason for whatever plight they may be experiencing, while demanding that those of us who pay taxes, must pay more and yet still be portrayed by many media hacks as speaking to all Americans. And yet when Romney speaks to those of us who do still possess a willingness to go out and work, who prefer not to accept a handout from the government, and who are quite literally being forced to pay more and more in taxes, he's presented as somehow being out of touch and as ignoring those 47 percenters. Now granted, Barry may not be ignoring those of us who are not part of the 47 percenters, but that's only because he using us as being the scapegoat, as his piggybank so to speak, we're the ones to blame because those 47 percenters are somehow 'forced' to accept their government handouts. Those 'entitlements.'
What this coming election is about, if you haven't been able to figure that out yet, is how best we can go about getting this country headed back in the right direction. And what we have being presented to us are two very different, even starkly different, choices on how best to go about doing just that. On one hand we have what has to be called Socialism, because while Barry can deny over and over again that he's no Socialist, that's exactly what his policies represent. On the other hand we have a man advocating the economic system that made America the economic engine of an entire planet. A system that allows anyone, regardless of where they come from, to succeed beyond their wildest imagination. A system where you are free to become whatever you want, within reason. If you want to be poor and have nothing, no one is going to make you exert yourself or to go out and make something of yourself. But if you want to be successful, you are presented with endless opportunities, and if you are willing to work hard, play by the rules, there are no limits on where you can go.
These are the two paths being presented to us by the two candidates in the race, and in very clear terms. So, the choice is ours. What do we do? Do we chose to follow Barry to the left and continue in that direction until everything finally just comes to a very abrupt end? Where we find ourselves buried under a mountain of debt and, quite literally, at the mercy of countries like China? Or, do we chose, instead, to follow Gov. Romney down the path to the right? The direction that provides the most promise of our eventually being able to work our way out of the mess that we are in and that provides the most promise of getting more Americans back to work and self sufficient? The direction that reduces the size of government, and doesn't increase it, that gets the government out of the way of smart entrepreneurs so that they can start that business they've always wanted or expand and employ more people. Now you would think the choice would be a pretty easy one, but for some reason people seem conflicted, with many giving serious consideration to Barry's plan. Why?
