THE WARNING HAS NOW OFFICIALLY BEEN ISSUED…
Conservative leaders have now let it be known that Republicans in Congress are not to compromise their conservative values when negotiating with Barry "Almighty." In an open letter that was signed by more than 100 conservatives and that was addressed to GOP lawmakers, was circulated on Wednesday and warns that the Republican Party is "entering into a period of testing." While the letter never specifically mentions ongoing "fiscal cliff" negotiations, which includes raising taxes, the letter makes it cleat that Republicans have "a mandate to fight for conservative principles" because they held onto the House of Representatives in November. Like it or not, they are our last line of defense
And from Yahoo! News, not a source I usually turn to for information, there was this: "Among the signers are Al Cardenas, chairman of the American Conservative Union; Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas; Foster Friess, a Wyoming businessman who helped bankroll a super PAC supporting Rick Santorum’s presidential bid; and longtime conservative activists Richard Viguerie and Phyllis Schlafly. Saying that Democrats want to "fundamentally change" America," the letter appeals to Republicans to stand "united" and not vote with their Democratic colleagues on legislation that "violates the principles you publicly committed to support.""
And to any Republican who may actually wish to compromise with Barry "Almighty", the letter is also very clear in pointing out the potential consequences for such a decision, going so far as to threaten possible primary challenges for those individuals reckless, or dare I say foolish, enough to embark on such a path of compromise. "Let us also remind you that a great many potent conservative organizations and millions of conservative and liberty-loving voters do not believe in the divine right of incumbents to be re-nominated. Conservatives know how to recruit and support candidates," the letter states. Couldn't be any more clearer than that! The folks need to be made to remember who they work for.
Instead of compromising, conservatives need to stay strong and eventually the country will grow tired of the "left’s failed agenda," the letter adds. Going on to say, "If Republicans provide a consistent, conservative alternative, the time will come, probably sooner than later, when most Americans will become fed up with the left’s failed agenda and be ready for a change to ‘throw the bums out’ and restore limited, Constitutional government." And let me say that I feel quite comfortable in saying that I stand with those behind this letter. We must all stand together and present a united front against those who appear so determined in their efforts to make a economic wasteland out of our country.
