Current New York governor, and a guy who sees himself as being a future candidate for, Andrew Cuomo, is now out there saying that the state of New York is very serious about gun confiscation. The Democrat and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, having served under ‘BJ’ Clinton, told an Albany radio station that he plans to propose a package of what is essentially some very draconian legislation during his State of the State address next month. It was according the New York Times that this dope recently said, "I don’t think legitimate sportsmen are going to say, ‘I need an assault weapon to go hunting.’" This dolt went on to say, "There is a balance here — I understand the rights of gun owners; I understand the rights of hunters." This clown is like every other sleazy Democrat when it comes to the Second Amendment. The way they read it, there is no ‘right’ to keep and bear arms!
Little Andy Cuomo indicated the state will likely force some kind of permit process on owners of those semi-automatic weapons that are described by those on the left as being "assault weapons." Other than being another typically Democrat scheme to generate revenue as well as to expand the size and reach of government, the effort will allow the state to simply confiscate the weapons of those citizens who choose not to comply. "Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun but permit it," the governor said. Cuomo’s confiscation scheme follows remarks by rabidly liberal members of our state-controlled media complex who demand the government simply seize firearms from law-abiding citizens. Earlier this week, one of MSNBC’s many resident lunatics, Ed Schultz tweeted in favor of gun confiscation.
"We need to get guns and bullets and automatic weapons off the streets," said the Communist News Network’s (CNN), Don Lemon following the Sandy Hook massacre. "They should only be available to police officers and to hunt al-Qaeda and the Taliban and not hunt elementary school children." Anti-Second Amendment advocates have long attacked gun ownership from a number of angles. Just this past Thursday, anti-gun zealot and flaming loon, Michael Moore made the idiotic claim that the desire to own firearms and support the Second Amendment is somehow tied to racism. "I think we’re a very frightened people," Moore said. "I think we’ve been frightened ever since we landed on these shores. We were frightened of the native people… we were frightened of the slaves we brought over, as we should have been." Moore said gun ownership "cuts down to the heart of our race problem that we still haven’t resolved."
Ok, so I’ve asked this question before. Why, when there are other hazards out there that kill many more Americans every single year than do guns, are liberals so focused in on restricting gun ownership? Is it actually the public safety issue that they would like us all to believe that it is, or is there more to it than that? Is there an ulterior motive at work here, even something quite sinister? How many teenagers die in horrific car accidents every year? Yet, where’s the same level of supposed outrage from clowns like Cuomo, Bloomberg or Moore? Where are their demands that some sort of action be taken to reduce that number of needless deaths? Which only proves the point than this is less about guns than it is about the allowing of government to worm its way even farther into the lives of everyday Americans. But it is also about the guns, to the extent that, for corrupt politicians, a completely disarmed populace is much easier to deal with.
