OBAMA SAYS HE’S A HOPELESS OPTIMIST…SURE HE IS…
Once again on Friday, our "Lord and Savior", Barack Obama reaffirmed the fact that he would not agree to any budget deal that doesn’t include higher taxes on the "wealthiest individuals." Republicans and Democrats, Barry said, can agree to a "balanced proposal that cuts spending, but also asks the wealthiest Americans to pay more." He rambled on, lying through his pearly white, saying, "During the course of these negotiations I offered to compromise with Republicans in Congress. I met them halfway on taxes, and I met them more than half way on spending, terms of actual dollar amounts, we’re not that far apart." Barry must have a rather odd way of defining ‘compromise’, because he’s done nothing more than to make it quite clear, throughout the entire ‘discussion’ thus far, that it’s going to have to be his way or no way. That’s just how Barry plays the game.
And then in telling us what most of us already know, Barry then proceeded to warn that if Congress fails to agree on a budget deal, the financial ramifications will be felt by everyone. "[E]ven though Democrats and Republicans are arguing about whether … rates should go up for the wealthiest individuals, all of us, every single one of us, agrees that tax rates shouldn’t go up for the other 98 percent of Americans, which includes 97 percent of small businesses," he said. Adding, "Every member of Congress believes that, every Democrat, every Republican. So there is absolutely no reason — none — not to protect these Americans from a tax hike." But here Barry lies to us yet again in his making the claim that 97 percent of all small businesses are included in those who $250,000 or less. That’s just not true, and Barry’s continuing to say it, as well as those in the media repeating it ad nauseam, isn’t gonna make it true!
"At the very least, let’s agree right now on what we already agree on. Let’s get that done." Barry continued, urging Republicans and Democrats to come up with a plan they can both agree on. But in making such an idiotic statement, he ignores completely the fact that Senate Democrats aren’t willing to agree to anything. Barry went on to say, "Averting this middle class tax hike is not a Democratic or Republican responsibility. With their votes, the American people have determined that governing is a shared responsibility between both parties." He added, "In this Congress, laws can only pass with support from Democrats and Republicans. And that means nobody gets 100 percent of what they want. Everybody’s gotta give a little bit in a sensible way. We move forward together, or we do not move forward at all." But the fact is that it’s Barry who will be the one to decide on how it is that we move ‘forward.’
Because in his saying that nobody ever gets 100 percent of what they want, he most certainly can’t be referring to himself, because, after all, he fully expects to get everything he wants and then some. Barry went on to ask that members of both parties use their Christmas vacation to reflect on the problems facing the nation. "I hope it gives everybody some perspective. Everybody can cool off," he said. He recommended, "Everybody can drink some eggnog, have some Christmas cookies, sing — sing some Christmas carols, enjoy the company of loved ones." He then promptly jetted off to Hawaii on his $4 Million vacation and all at taxpayer expense, a fact that demonstrates more clearly that just about anything else, the fact that the looming fiscal cliff doesn’t bother him anymore than a cloudy day. Barry is nothing more than a political charlatan, one who feel he is completely justified in saying anything he must in getting what he wants.
Barry challenged Congress one last time to come up with a plan: "We’re going to have to find some common ground. And the challenge that we’ve got right now is that the American people are a lot more sensible and a lot more thoughtful, and much more willing to compromise and give and sacrifice and act responsibly than their elected representatives are. And that’s a problem. There’s a mismatch right now between how everybody else is thinking about these problems, Democrats and Republicans, outside of this town and how folks are operating here. And we’ve just got to get that aligned, and we’ve only got 10 days to do it. So I hope that every member of Congress is thinking about that. Nobody can get 100 percent of what they want. And this is not simply a contest between parties in terms of who looks good and who doesn’t." "So call me a hopeless optimist, but I actually still think we can get it done," Barry concluded.
Look, let’s not fool ourselves here, if there is one certainty in all of this talk about averting the big plunge over the ‘fiscal cliff’, it’s that Barry is perfectly content to go right on over the edge. In fact he wants us to go over the cliff because doing so gives to him nearly everything he wants, higher taxes and spending cuts. So all of this talk about being some sort of an optimist about some sort of deal being reached, is nothing more than another example of what has become Barry’s very typical brand of bullshit! The only way that any sort of a deal will ever be reached will be if the Republicans capitulate completely on taxes and demand no spending cuts be made in exchange. And, sadly, with Boehner leading the charge on our side such a ‘deal’ is not totally outside the realm of possibility. Meanwhile, the rest of us must all come to the realization that there are actually more important things to worry about than going over the cliff.
