OBAMA, CAN'T THIS GUY TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT ANYTHING?
While out on yet another campaign trip, this time at the University of Miami on Thursday, we heard Barry "Almighty" very proudly proclaim that yes, by golly, "we got back every dime we used to rescue the financial system." But once again, the actualy truth of the matter is just a bit different than the version of things that we hear from Barry. Because, you see, according to the Congressional Budget Office, the government will lose a whopping $24 billion on this little deal of Barry's. And that, my friends, is $24 Billion of your dollars.
So, you see, once again our 'Dear Beloved Leader' can be said to be stretching the truth, and not by a little bit. Telling the crowd assembled, and with a straight face I might add, that "We got back every dime we used to rescue the financial system, but we also passed a historic law to end taxpayer-funded Wall Street bailouts for good." Funny thing though, the Congressional Budget Office, using figures that it received from Barry’s own Office of Management and Budget, tells us a very different story. A story that Barry simply chooses to ignore
"The cost to the federal government of the TARP’s transactions (also referred to as the subsidy cost), including grants for mortgage programs that have not yet been made, will amount to $24 billion," said the CBO report, which was released on the very same day as our 'Dear Beloved Leader' was out bragging about what a good deal he made for the American people. TARP is the Troubled Asset Relief Program – the formal name of the government’s financial bailout program passed in October 2008 and accomplished absolutely nothin!.
CBO said that the cost of TARP "stems largely from assistance to American International Group (AIG), aid to the automotive industry, and grant programs aimed at avoiding home mortgage foreclosures," noting that the losses will be so large they will eclipse the financial gains the government will realize from bailing out other large financial institutions. In fact, CBO reported that as of now $65 billion in TARP funds remain outstanding. Is that not absolutely incredible? A whopping $65 Billion still owed, and Barry's out there patting himself on the back?
And what's really so ironic here is that we continue to hear such stories from Barry. He actually seems to think that he can simply lie his way through this entire campaign while at the same time sends any number of his many surrogates out there to…call Romney the liar. As I have said before, I will not argue the fact that there truly is liar in this race, and I get somewhat irritated by the fact that our state-controlled media continues to label Romney as being that liar when, in point of fact, Barry is out there telling some of the biggest whoppers I've ever heard in my life.
