What do you do when you have no record on which you can run? Well we now know what Barry “Almighty” plans on doing, that’s for sure. He plans to assemble what is essentially an army of liars instructed to build up a record that doesn’t exist and to smear the many critics who are sure to be busy pointing out that fact. So in that vein both fans and critics are sure to get a kick out of Barry’s reelection campaign’s decision to launch what is being dubbed “Truth Team” to fend off the many expected attacks on the Barry’s record, or rather his lack of a record.
The Barry campaign explains: “The Truth Team is a network of supporters of President Obama who are committed to responding to unfounded attacks and defending the President’s record. When you’re faced with someone who misrepresents the truth, you can find all the facts you need right here—along with ways to share the message with whoever needs to hear it.” This whole cockamamie scheme meets all the criteria for being the perfect oxymoron, because this “operation Truth Team” has absolutely nothing to with promoting the truth.
ABC News reports that Barry’s campaign is looking to “enlist” and “educate” nearly 2 million people for this “Truth Team.” Interesting terminology to say the least. The Truth Team webpage features a blog with in turn references to three outlets “AttackWatch,” KeepingGOPHonest,“ and ”KeepingHisWord.” “Every time a baseless attack comes to light, we’ll arm you with the truth so you can spread the word.” Baseless attacks? Is that not the silliest thing you’ve ever heard of? The political hacks behind this propaganda campaign have no interest whatsoever in people knowing the truth.
Attack Watch, which was launched just last fall, includes a Politifact-like blog putting a quote next to a truth team response, which includes no citations, “Attach Files,” as well as pages to “Report an Attack” or “Spread the Word.“ Some recent Attack Watch blog posts include ”Mitt Romney downplays our economic recovery,“ ”Debunking the so-called ‘War on Religion’,“ and ”Romney’s favorite Medicare lie.” All are pathetic attempts by Team Barry to deceive the American people and to portray Barry as something that he most definitely is not. Because there has been no economic recovery and we are witnessing a war on religion.
A press release announcing the campaign watchdog launch explains that the “grassroots” organization is aiming to double the number of supporters who took part in the “Fight the Smears” initiative from the 2008 campaign and fight back attacks on Barry’s supposed record before the Democrat National Convention this fall. Grassroots, really? Truth Teams will be announced in swing states like Iowa, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina and Wisconsin, with events being held in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia.
Now it should come as no surprise that the national supporters for the organization include the National Education Association, Service Employees International Union, United Food and Commercial Workers International Union and the United Steelworkers Union. All organizations that I am very sure that we are all quick to recognize as being organizations that possess solid reputations for advocating the truth. Ya, right! This is nothing more than an army of zealots who are very skilled at deception, deceit, distortion and who have taken dishonesty to a whole new level. What this exercise will ultimately prove is that we find out just how gullible the American public really is.
If this doesn't smack of totalitarianism I don't know what else does. Great post, Dan. Hope a whole lot of humanoids read this. It's quite significant!!!!!!!!!
