"SLICK WILLIE" OFFERS SOME ADVICE TO OBAMA...

Our favorite impeached former Democrat president, "Slick Willie" Clinton, has now officially taken it upon himself to offer up to Barry "Almighty" what he must see as being some excellent and very useful advice. And in so doing, "Slick" has now essentially come out swinging at Congress, telling Joe Conason, who is associated with something called "The National Memo," that if he were president, which thankfully he is not, by golly he would most assuredly take decisive action if no debt deal is reached by what has been designated as the August 2 deadline. "Slick" said that if he were in Barry’s situation, he would invoke the Fourteenth Amendment to raise America’s debt ceiling “without hesitation, and force the courts to stop me.” What a guy, and what better guy to be giving you advice than our only living president to ever be impeached. So, like every other Democrat out there who is now so very busy screeching the alarm, our buddy "BJ" contends that raising the debt ceiling to avoid a U.S. default on its bills is so essential that he would tell the American people to go screw themselves and "invoke" the 14th Amendment to do so. Spoken like a true tax and spend and spend and spend Liberal. Never mind the incredible level of spending that brought this whole scenario about, because in the big scheme of things that can be left for someone else to worry about later.

During the interview which took place on Monday night, old "Slick Willie," of course, came out strongly against Republicans, saying, “I think the Constitution is clear and I think this idea that the Congress gets to vote twice on whether to pay for [expenditures] it has appropriated is crazy. [Raising the ceiling] is necessary to pay for appropriations already made…so you can’t say, ‘Well, we won the last election and we didn’t vote for some of that stuff, so we’re going to throw the whole country’s credit into arrears.” Whenever you hear some sleazy Democrat, of which "Slick Willie" is most definitely one, talking about how "clear" the Constitution is, little alarm bells should be going off in your head. Because the only time these clowns ever start talking about Constitutional clarity, regarding what the Constitution does or does not permit, somehow they can always manage to read into it something that allows them to circumvent the established checks and balances that were put in place for the specific purpose of preventing politicians from doing just what we're seeing today, as we watch Barry continue his onslaught to inflict as much irreparable damage upon our country as is possible. And let's be real here, neither "Slick Willie" nor Barry are in the position of ever having to worry about their kids' futures, their essentially set for life no matter what. But unfortunately, the rest of aren't quite so lucky. Because we're the ones stuck picking up the tab for all of these guys grandiose vote purchasing expenditures.

I'm sure many of us remember the fact that "Slick" faced his own little debt crises as president during two government shut downs. The "Shlickmeister" said he didn’t invoke the 14th Amendment, which states that “the validity of the U.S. public debt shall not be questioned,” back then because Republicans then didn’t threaten to use the debt ceiling "as a weapon" in their budget fights with him. According to "Slick," the Gingrich Republicans thought about that tactic before rejecting it and Treasury officials who served under "Slick" commissioned legal research on the president’s power to raise the debt ceiling without congressional approval. While some legal scholars believe the Fourteenth Amendment requires Congress to fund the debt that results from its appropriations, and therefore empowers the president to raise the debt ceiling, others vehemently disagree. Look, from January 2009 to January 2011 what we had was essentially one party rule and thus some massive amounts of money were allocated. Now that the opposition party has control of at least one house of Congress I think what we're seeing is an honest attempt to reel in some of that spending. But can anyone possible imagine what today's slimy Democrats would be doing if the roles in the current budget debate were completely reversed? The sheer level of hypocrisy that is exposed here by "BJ's" comments is absolutely mindboggling.

The American Spectator takes issue with "Slick’s" rather skewed opinion on the matter, writing that the Fourteenth Amendment does "not call on Congress to borrow monies whenever needed." Rather what the amendment does is to instruct Congress to pay for what is spends. Now what that means is that it can choose to cut spending, raise taxes, or even print more currency. Arguing as "Slick" does, the first option of cutting spending simply does not apply and is therefore always unacceptable to Democrats. That leaves raising taxes or permitting the president to print even more currency in order to pay the bills, effectively running down the value of the dollar. It‘s like saying that once you’ve maxed out all your credit cards, you have no choice but to transfer the balance to a new credit card. Or in other words, business as usual for Democrats. Some say "BJ" isn’t the only prominent individual speaking out in support of unilateral use of the Fourteenth Amendment. Treasury Secretary Timmy "The Tax Cheat" Geithner has also allegedly advocated its use as a potential weapon to used for getting past those in Congress currently resisting the raising of the debt ceiling. According to CNN Money, Timmy has heightened the debate over the debt ceiling extension in recent weeks by implying that the President could simply push through an extension of the debt ceiling based on an interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution.

While some believe Timmy has been very clear in his advocating for the president’s use of the Fourteenth Amendment, others, including legal representation at the Treasury itself, claim that that just isn’t the case. Now I could swear I heard somewhere that that's what Timmy was out there loudly advocating. But maybe I'm wrong because in a release published on July 8, 2011, a lawyer for the Treasure Department denied this allegation, writing, Secretary Geithner has never argued that the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution allows the President to disregard the statutory debt limit. According to the Treasury’s legal counsel, Timmy’s words, essentially the crying wolf about the looming apocalyptic catastrophe if the debt limit is not raised, have been his only method thus far intended to compel Congress to take action on raising the debt limit. Barry "Almighty" has successfully avoided any direct questioning on the matter and hasn't really been pressed by the media regarding where he stands on the tactic. So that has made it difficult to conclude exactly where he might stand on the issue and what he will do if a plan is not reached. Despite "Slick Willie's" claims that Barry should invoke the Fourteenth Amendment if needed, he tells Conason that he believes the situation will be remedied by August 2. The former president says that it looks as though an agreement will be made, which he calls “smart.” It will be, what "Slick Willie calls, smart only if the Republicans manage to remain united and to the right thing.
