OBAMA PUTS PEN TO PAPER, WRITES A LETTER TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE…

It was in a recent letter addressed to the American people that Barry, once again, set out to explain the progress that he believes our nation has made under his stellar leadership.  And it was in that letter that Barry again made the claim that today it’s “almost” the entire planet that now believes this nation has become stronger and more respected during his time in office.  I’m guessing that Barry must figure that if he makes this claim often enough people will come to believe that it’s true.  Frankly I’m not sure who he’s trying to convince, himself or the American people.

But be that as it may, it was in this letter that Barry said, “And almost every country on Earth sees America as stronger and more respected today than they did eight years ago.”  And in making the case for his claim, Barry cited, among other things, what he considers to be the nation’s progress in Iraq and Afghanistan and in “breaking the back” of the Islamic State, the Iran nuclear deal, and the opening of relations with the Communist government in Cuba.  Barry also cited a global “climate agreement” that he claims “could save this planet for our kids” as why America is more respected.

It was in this very same little fairytale of a letter that Barry went on to write, “We’ve drawn down from nearly 180,000 troops in harm’s way in Iraq and Afghanistan to just 15,000.”  And he went on to make a rather idiotic claim by saying, “With a coalition of more than 70 nations and a relentless campaign of more than 16,000 airstrikes so far, we are breaking the back of ISIL and taking away its safe havens, and we’ve accomplished this at a cost of $10 billion over two yearsthe same amount that we spent in one month at the height of the Iraq War.”  A claim that is patently false.

And as one who takes every possible opportunity to pat himself on the back, whether warranted or not, Barry went on to write, “At the same time, America has led the world to meet a set of global challenges.”  And he added, “Through diplomacy, we shut down Iran’s nuclear weapons program, opened up a new chapter with the people of Cuba, and brought nearly 200 nations together around a climate agreement that could save this planet for our kids.”  Barry’s rather rosy picture of all that he has done ‘for’ America bears very little resemblance to reality.  It’s just all so bizarre.

All of which begs the question of just how delusional one man can possibly be. Remember the red lines he drew, and then ignored?  I really do have to wonder, is anyone really buying any of this political BS?  Or is this all just politicking in an effort to get that cushy U.N. job that he so badly wants?  I have yet to talk to any rational individual who actually believes that Barry has done anything other than to severely weaken our standing in the world!  My God, pick a spot, any spot, anywhere on the planet and more often than not it’s in much worse shape than it was in 2009.

There are new conflicts in Yemen, Syria, in Africa where the radical Islamists have taken hold.  Our arch rivals, the Red Chinese and the Russians, see Barry as a defeated if not disgraced American president.  The last time an American president left the office in so much disgrace was probably Jimmy Carter after the Iran fiasco. Vlad Putin reportedly said negotiating with Barry is like playing chess with a pigeon. The pigeon knocks over all the pieces, craps on the chessboard and then proudly struts around like he won the game.  I think Vlad has hit the nail on the head.

And there were several things that were noticeably missing from Barry’s little letter to the American people, and for very good reason.   For instance there’s the little fact that the supposed economic ‘expansion’ that began in June 2009 has been the weakest since World War II, with real gross domestic product growth averaging 2.1%.  At 7 1/2 years and counting, it is also among the longest on record. But it hasn’t packed much of a punch.  Cumulative growth of 16.5% since the trough is well shy of the 38.4% increase during the 1982-1990 expansion and 42.6% from 1991-2001.

Now to be sure, the process of digging out from a financial crisis is more arduous than recovering from your basic recession.  And an aging population is curtailing labor-force growth, which in turn constrains how fast the economy can expand without generating inflationary pressures. Barry doesn’t mention that fewer regulatory impediments would have encouraged new business formation, which increased in 2015 for the first time since 2009, and capital investment, giving productivity a needed boost. Stronger economic growth would have lured folks back to the working world.

And there’s the matter of his ‘legacy’.  Barry doesn’t talk about how his continued personal popularity hasn’t had much of a trickle-down effect.  Or how in the eight years since he was first elected, Democrats have lost more than 1,000 seats at the state and national level.  He doesn’t mention how Republicans now control 4,170 state legislative seats compared with 3,129 for the Democrats, an all-time low. Republicans now hold 33 governorships and will have full control, governorship and both houses of the state legislature, in 25 states compared to 5 for the Democrats.

Add to that the fact that during that same period of time the Democrats lost 12 governorships, 13 Senate seats and 69 seats in the House of Representatives.  Barry’s two terms were highlighted by “a devastation up and down the party across the nation.”   A legacy is generally thought to be a gift handed down from one generation to the next.  For the Democrat Party, Barry’s legacy is anything but.  And if you chose, at the time of Barry’s first election, to believe James Carville, the legacy of Barry “Almighty” was going to be 40 years of solid Democrat rule.  Oops!

And Barry also failed to mention his year-end press conference which was short on questions, long on answers, where Barry spoke about his response to the Russian hacking of Democrat National Committee emails during the election.  He said that when he met with Vlad Putin in China in September, he told him to “cut it out” in terms of the hacking.  Sorry, Barry, the world isn’t afraid of you and your empty threats.  Eight years of leading from behind has left America’s standing in the world diminished, its moral authority compromised and its foreign policy in tatters.

Barry left unsaid how the wars he inherited are still going on. And how the Taliban has made a comeback in Afghanistan and Syria is in shambles.  And how Secretary of State John Kerry-Heinz has been so ineffective that no one even bothered to invite him to the Syrian cease-fire negotiations among Russia, Turkey and Iran.  And Barry also said nothing about how he broke with 36 years of U.S. policy by abandoning its ally Israel and allowing the passage of U.N. Security Council Resolution 2234, declaring Israeli settlements, including the Western Wall and Temple Mount in East Jerusalem, illegal.

And Barry made no mention that while he may have broken racial barriers when he became the first African-American president of the U.S., his election has done nothing to improve race relations.  In fact, a majority of Americans (54%) say that race relations deteriorated under Barry “Almighty”.  And Barry didn’t mention how he has continually promoted the idea of a police force biased against blacks, or how he vehemently denied FBI Director James Comey’s explanation for the surge in violent crime and homicide rates last year were a result of the “Ferguson effect.”

Also Barry didn’t include in his letter to the American people how his hometown of Chicago witnessed 762 homicides last year, the most in two decades, and up from the 459 that occurred in 2009.  Barry’s protests to the contrary notwithstanding, the reason is the Ferguson effect, according to the Manhattan Institute’s Heather MacDonald. What’s more, statistics show that police are now three times less likely to shoot unarmed black suspects than white ones.  Barry is not entitled to his own facts. If he doesn’t want to talk to those on the front line, he should listen to those who do.

And finally I think it’s worth mentioning how it was that Barry once again failed to mention that which must never be named, aka Radical Islamic terrorism.  Barry has spent eight years deftly avoiding using those three words to call an act what it is. He has intellectualized his position by claiming the phrase “equates Islam with terrorism,” which is counterproductive to U.S. counterterrorism efforts.  Instead, Barry prefers terms such as “workplace violence,” even if the terrorists in question pay homage to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, leader of the Islamic State.

I’m quite sure that everyone remembers the gilded setting, complete with Greek columns that served as the backdrop for Barry’s acceptance speech at the 2008 Democrat convention in Denver.  However, don’t expect the same pomp and circumstance at next week’s farewell address.  Because unlike in 2008, when Barry was all about “Hope and Change”, the 2016 audience will have results in hand to determine if the hope was misplaced and the change worthwhile.

And I noticed how our Liar-in-Chief chose not to list those countries where we are "more respected".  Maybe he means "Cuba", but he fails to recognize that they’re laughing at him, just like the "back of ISIS" has been broken.  He either lives in some sort of alternate universe or some weird fantasy world, or is nothing more than an inveterate liar.  Personally, I choose the latter, because I think that he knows full well just how much of a "failure" he truly has been but just can’t bring himself to admit it.  But the good thing is that in two weeks he’ll be gone.  Thank you Jesus!
