THE TRUTH ABOUT THE 'WAR ON WOMEN'...

As the election grows ever nearer, the intensity of the rhetoric that we can all expect to be exposed to will increase, correspondingly. And one topic that we are more than likely to hear a great deal about is the "war on women" currently being waged by the Republicans. As I have mentioned on previous occasions, there is in fact a "war on women" now underway, but the actually perpetrators are not the Republicans. Instead, the guilty party is their very enthusiastic accusers, the Democrats. In fact, it was less than a week ago while in Kansas City that Barry himself made the claim that he’s doing his best to make sure that women get paid the same amount for doing the same work as men. And yet even after five years HE still pays the women who work for him less than what he pays the men. But I digress, that’s a topic for another day.

The topic today is jobs, women’s jobs, and the fact that the number of unemployed women, 16 years and over, increased by 227,000 in July. And therefore, the unemployment rate for women ticked up from 5.9 percent to 6.2 percent, and that is according to data released just yesterday by Barry’s own Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). In July there were 4,494,000 women who were unemployed, an increase of 227,000 from June, when 4,267,000 women were unemployed. And just so we all know how things are being defined here, a person is counted as unemployed by the BLS if they say they did not have a job during the month but they were actively seeking one. While the number of unemployed women increased, the number of employed women decreased from 68,568,000 women in June to 68,486,000 in July, a one-month drop of 82,000.

The sad truth in all of this is that the Democrats really don’t want women to have a job. Because when a woman has a job she is that much more unlikely to need ‘help’ from the government. And the primary desire of the Democrats is to get as many people as possible addicted to the government. And in the ongoing battle to accomplish just that, Democrats view the female of the species as a ‘soft target’. Because once a woman has no job it really takes very little effort to convince her that she would be much better off if she were to latch herself onto the government teat. And that task becomes all that much easier when the woman is a single mother. So now it becomes the task of the Republicans to convince those women blinded by the idiotic rhetoric, or who simply prefer the government-subsidized lifestyle, that there IS a better way.
