ARE AMERICANS JUST TOO STUPID TO UNDERSTAND HOW THEIR SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT IS DESIGNED TO WORK?

Further evidence that a majority of our population has either been successfully brainwashed over the years, living under a rock, or has had the desire for freedom simply bred out of them, has been provided to us courtesy of a new survey that seems to suggest that a majority of Americans now fully expect the U.S. to go over that much talked about fiscal cliff at the beginning of 2013 and would actually blame the Republicans if that happens. That little tidbit is according to a poll published earlier this week. So while many have argued that the influence of our state-controlled media is on the wane, I would appear that they still have enough power left in them to have first gotten Barry "Almighty" elected and more recently, re-elected.

The recent survey to which I refer was conducted by the Pew Research Center and the Washington Post and it found that 51 percent of those brilliant folks polled said they just don’t think that Barry and Congress will be able to agree on a package of tax increases and spending cuts in order to prevent the automatic reductions in government spending and the expiration of the Bush-era tax cuts currently scheduled to take place on January 1. So what is it exactly that these people are recommending? Is it that we should have just one party in charge? Excuse me, but we've seen how well that's worked out before, most recently during the first two years of Barry's first term. Is that really what these people want, more of the same?

Also in that very same survey, 38 percent said they expected Barry and Congress to cut a deal. But if lawmakers fail to reach a deal, 53 percent of those asked said Republicans in Congress will bear responsibility, compared with just 29 percent who said Barry will be at fault and 10 percent who chose both sides. Well, we now know, and with some certainty, that at least 29 percent of our population is made up of those who, most likely, don’t have enough brains to come in out of the rain. Either that or they believe every single word spewed by flaming nutjobs like Chris Matthews. Mr. Matthews, as you may recall, suffers from frequent bouts of a rather unique affliction whenever he hears Barry speak.

The fiscal cliff that we continue to hear so much about refers to a $607 billion combination of automatic spending cuts and tax increases scheduled for 2013 that were enacted as part of an agreement to raise the federal debt limit. More than two-thirds of those polled, or 68 percent, said the automatic spending cuts and tax increases would have a major effect on the economy, and 62 percent said it would be mostly negative. In addition, 44 percent of respondents said the fiscal cliff would have a significant impact on their personal financial situation and 60 percent of those said it would be mostly negative. I’m curious to know who it was that that 60 percent of respondents might voted for, or if they voted at all.

Because I'll tell you what, more often than not it's the morons who respond to polls like this who are the very same ones who either voted for the guy they're claiming is the least responsible, or are the ones who reliably accuse the other side as being the ones at fault. And as far as I'm concerned those who made the conscious decision not to vote, don't even have a dog in the fight having abdicated any right that they might have had to even enter the argument. They can just come along for the ride. Because if they can't manage to sufficiently exert themselves to go out and vote, then they shouldn’t be allowed to participate in any polls that are designed to measure the consequences of an election.
