YOU'LL BE HAPPY TO KNOW THAT YOU'RE NOW WORKIN FOR OBAMA UNTIL MID-JULY...

Have you ever kinda felt like an indentured servant? Indentured servitude referring to the historical practice of contracting to work for a fixed period of time, typically three to seven years, in exchange for transportation, food, clothing, lodging and other necessities during the term of indenture. Well here in the 21st century, the practice, of a sort, still seems to exist in that this year Americans will have to work more than six months, or until July 15, just to pay for the burden of their government. Ah, "Hope and Change", ain't it grand! I can't help but wonder how those who voted for Barry, except the blacks who remain thrilled with him, can think that this is a good thing.

In a new report, Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) has calculated that the American people, at least those who are still lucky enough to have a job, will spend a total of 197 days toiling to pay for the cost of government. "Cost of Government Day is the date of the calendar year on which the average American worker has earned enough gross income to pay off his or her share of the spending and regulatory burden imposed by government at the federal, state and local levels," so reads the report. And yet, the guy that's most responsible for this nasty little debt trend, still actually leads in most presidential polls. Are that many people that ignorant?

The report, Cost of Government Day, shows that Americans will work 88 days to pay for federal spending; 40 days for state and local spending; and 69 days for total regulatory costs. "From a different perspective, the cost of government makes up 54.0 percent of annual gross domestic product (GDP)," reads the report. "What's more, the largest tax hike in the nation's history is scheduled to take place at the end of 2012 unless Congress acts to protect taxpayers. If this tax increase is allowed to hit, COGD [Cost of Government Day] could permanently be pushed back into August and beyond." Now isn't that a wonderful little thought.

So there you have it. Those of us who are constantly accused of not being willing to pay our fair share, are now already coughing up pretty much everything we make from January 1 to July 15 just to cover the cost of this train wreck of a government. Meanwhile the many freeloaders, moochers and parasites who are living among us are made to face no such requirement, as they, apparently, have no fair share to pay. We are in the midst of a catastrophe here, and yet, for whatever reason, far too many people either just don't seem to get it, or are willing to bury their heads in the sand. Then of course we have the blacks, who will vote for Barry no matter what.

This November we will have the opportunity to correct the horrible mistake that was made back in 2008, and send this abysmal failure, at least from the point of view of those of us who still love freedom, back to the 'Windy' City. I can only hope that enough of us have learned a very valuable lesson here, in that whenever you elect a devout socialist, like Barry, we run the extreme risk of creating a fiscal calamity. There has to be some form of adult supervision that's present, and I think we he a better chance of finding that on the right. The number of Democrats in government must be kept below a certain threshold in order to prevent future damage.
