I MUST ADMIT, HENRY WAXMAN OFFERS UP SOME EXCELLENT MOTIVATION…

To be honest with you, I’ve never been one for giving Democratic Congressman, and quite possibly the ugliest man in Congress, Henry Waxman of California, much credit for being all that bright. But I gotta tell ya, he just may have recently stumbled across something here, that could turn out to be one Hell of an idea. You see, during a recent interview with the CSPAN show “Newsmakers,” old Henry disclosed that if Americans do vote for Romney and the Republicans are able to keep control of the House while gaining control of the Senate, Obamacare would be, in his words, “wiped out.” So you see, old Henry may have inadvertently revealed something that Republicans can put into action as being their single greatest motivator and something that can also be used to justify the rationale to the American people why the GOP should be handed control of the Senate come this November. That rationale being, of course, that all we need is 51 votes and we can get rid of this Obamacare debacle.

Now in watching this little interview it became pretty evident, and pretty quickly, that what Henry was saying was something that he fully intended, or at least hoped, would scare any viewers who may have been watching. But I would suspect that fear may have been exactly the opposite reaction that a great many people watching, may have had when listening. I'd like to think that a great many little light bulbs went off in the minds of many of those watching. Indeed, coming from Waxman, whose aversion to honesty is so strong that he had planned to hold “show trial” hearings that would have basically put companies on trial for explaining to their customers how much the health care would cost them in taxes, this is probably the most unexpected good news opponents of the health care law will hear all year. Waxman’s arguments against Republicans taking control of the House sounded like a bad cut and paste job, the source of which could be the various talking points disseminated by Republicans regarding the “death panels” provisions of Obamacare.

The Washington Examiner reports: “I think they could do it,” Waxman told newsmakers when asked about reconciliation. “I think the American people have to understand that if they vote for Romney and they vote for Republicans to have control of the house and the senate, there’s a good chance that the health care bill will be wiped out and all these benefits will be wiped out.”[...] “[T]he states will have to tell a lot of people at the very bottom — very poor people who are often disabled — that you’re not going to get care anymore in order to keep tax cuts for billionaires,” he said, citing Republican budget plans for Medicaid.” As much as the slime like Waxman might wish it were so, when have the poor and/or disabled ever been denied healthcare? Ah, that would be, NEVER! And their solution to this problem that does not exist is for the government to seize complete and total control of our entire healthcare system. That's their solution for fixing something that ain’t broke.

I feel quite confident in declaring that with each passing day it’s becoming all the more clear that this November's election is going to be an extraordinary decision point for the citizens of this country. And it could very well be one that there will very likely be no turning back from. The question that remains to be answered is, will the American people, or at least enough of them, be up for the challenge being presented to them? I see polls everyday that point out the fact that there remains a significant number of folks who are still adamantly opposed to this outright governmental seizure of our entire healthcare system. But I’ve also seen polls that would seem to indicate that healthcare isn’t all that important to some people, that things like the economy weigh much more heavily on them. So I worry, because while concerns over the economy are certainly more than justified, we must not lose sight of all that is at stake regarding the losing the individual control of our own healthcare.
