‘MAD MAXINE’ WATERS FOR PRESIDENT???

In case you happen to be wondering just how crazy things have now gotten regarding our purveyors of ‘fake news,’ and just how much crazier it’s likely to become, it was a ‘commentator’ on the Communist News Network (CNN), aka the headquarters for ‘fake news’, that recently attempted to make what, I can only assume, was a serious case for “radical congresswoman” ‘Mad Maxine’ Waters actually becoming the Democrat nominee for president in 2020. Yup, you heard me.

It was in an opinion piece published Wednesday in the Orange County Register, as well as in the L.A. Daily News, that John Phillips put forward what, I’m quite sure, most folks would view as being a nutty idea, a really, REALLY nutty idea.  That of course being the prospect of a President Waters.  Even Phillips admitted that it must seem far-fetched.  In fact, he actually admitted that he may need to “blow into a breathalyzer, take a drug test and get psychologically evaluated.”  

And in acknowledging that his bizarre premise flew in the face of conventional wisdom, Phillips asked how Democrats could nominate a politician “who was just called ‘un-American’ by the leadership of her own party for encouraging viral confrontations with Trump administration officials?”  “It’s easy,” he asserted. The Southern California lawmaker could be a genuine contender because she is the de-facto leader of the so-called ‘resistance’ against President Trump. 

Or, as Phillips put it: “Mad Max is the only one dancing to the beat of the ‘Resistance,’ and her album is about to go platinum.”  He went on to use President Trump as evidence of Waters’ viability as the future leader of the Democrat Party.  He noted that President Trump’s “salty language” and his “challenging Republican orthodoxies” did not matter. What mattered was “he understood the mood and frustrations of the electorate better than anyone in the race.”

And Phillips actually went so far as to portray Waters as being someone who has her finger on the pulse of her own party much in the same way as did candidate Trump when he rose from being a relatively long-shot in a crowded field to capture the Republican nomination for president.  And he noted how Trump did not need an army of “overpaid consultants” to recognize Americans’ fury over illegal immigration and bad trade deals. Phillips said, “He just knew it.”  And on that he’s right.

Similarly, Phillips observed, “I challenge you to find a politician or media personality who has better expressed the anger, frustration and rage of the ‘Resistance’ better than Maxine Waters.”  Because of that, he disdainfully dismissed the viability of such possible contenders as ‘Slow Joe’ Biden, Kamala ‘The Commie’ Harris and Hitlery,” Phillips concluded. “Nope, the woman who is the biggest rock star with liberals right now is Auntie Maxine!”  And frankly, I find that a little scary.

And who is it that could be ‘Mad Maxine's’ running mate in 2020?  ‘Mad Maxine’ and Sheila Jackson Lee would make an unbeatable team for the Democrats in 2020. Give them an IQ test and the lowest score gets to run for president. The first SOTU address would begin with, “Peach 45, Peach 45!  Oh wait, let me get my dam glasses on.”  Run, Maxine, run! It will be the biggest defeat in American political history if the Democrats were to make this mentally deficient gasbag their candidate.

Mr. Phillips’ rather silly little notion notwithstanding, the sad truth here is that ‘Mad Maxine’ is really nothing more than the darling of the chair tossing, table overturning, F-word spewing crowd who didn't get fries with their Big Mac.  If the Democrats were actually to go through with nominating this pathetic boob it would be the equivalent of putting a bullet into their collective brain.  And you can’t tell me that there are enough folks in the party who would be willing to allow that to happen.  

Now while I would like to think there are still enough sane people in the Democrat Party who would rather shove a sharp stick in their eye rather than vote for ‘Mad Maxine’ Waters, it’s with each passing day that I become less and less confident that that is, in fact, the case.   And frankly, I’m amazed that she’s able to get anyone to listen to her.  And the fact that she is, tells us all we need to know about the current state of the Democrat Party and makes clear just how far to the left it has shifted.
