WILL THE DEMOCRATS ACTUALLY ‘CHOOSE’ TO GO OVER THE CLIFF???

I guess I just don’t understand how it is that the Democrat mind works, because I don’t get how that they think they will ever be able to convince enough people of the validity of their position, on nearly any issue, by appearing to be nothing less than completely nuts.  Look at the insanity of their positions.  They think that men should be able to use the same restrooms as our wives and daughters, that we should allow a massive influx of ‘refugees’ into this country, with only a minimum of vetting and from countries that we know are active sponsors of terrorism and that we should offer safe haven to known criminals in ‘sanctuary’ cities simply because they are in this country illegally.  While Democrats have always had a fair share of extremists, these days it would seem to be ALL that they have.

And now it’s the Democrat lawmaker now favored to succeed interim Chairmoron Donna Brazile as head of the Democrat National Committee, who has been accused of anti-Semitism.  Rep. Keith Ellison, who was once involved with ‘Calypso Louie’ Farrakhan's "Nation of Islam" for more than a dozen years, is now said to be leading in this contest, 105-57 over Barry “Almighty’s’ former Labor Secretary, Tom Perez.  During his first run for Congress in 2006, Ellison disavowed Farrakhan and his organization, which has been called a "baseless repudiation" by the Nation of Islam as he mounted his DNC bid.  And the Anti-Defamation League condemned comments Ellison made in 2010 regarding Israel, in which he stated that America's Middle East policy should not be decided by "what is good [for] a country of 7 million people."

And of course, as any chronically dishonest and corrupt progressive would, Ellison has since made the claim that those comments were taken completely out of context and "selectively-edited," and he responded to the ADL's statement by saying his record instead shows support for Israel as well as an opposition to "racism, sexism and homophobia."  Ellison was also criticized for remarks he made to an atheist group in 2007 where he compared the Sept. 11 attacks to the Reichstag fire and stopped just short of accusing then-President George W. Bush of having a hand in the attacks.  Ellison said, “It’s almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that.”  And he also said he wouldn’t suggest the U.S. had a hand in the attacks because “you know, that’s how they put you in the nut-ball box — dismiss you.”

And it was very recently that this radical kook, Ellison, went so far as to actually call for an impeachment investigation of President Donald Trump.  It was during a ‘debate’ with his fellow DNC chair hopefuls just this past Wednesday on the Communist News Network (CNN), that Ellison said, “I think that Donald Trump has already done a number of things which legitimately raise the question of impeachment.”  And this is a guy who, after this weekend, could very well be the head of the Democrat Party?  For a party in such desperate need of rebuilding itself, how is it that the using of such partisan rhetoric is thought to help in any meaningful way regarding the cause at hand.  I would seem to me that any rational thinking person would want to avoid the moniker of ‘Democrat’ like the proverbial plague.

In an effort to support his claim, Ellison argued that Trump was in violation of the emoluments clause, a constitutional clause which prohibits presidents from receiving payment from foreign governments.  Some Trump opponents have claimed that the Republican is in violation of the federal law because Trump hotels have received payment from foreign dignitaries.  Ellison joins a small fringe group of Democrat lawmakers who have said impeaching Trump is already on the table.  And when I say fringe group, that’s probably a bit of an understatement since this group consists of California’s Maxine Waters, Maryland’s Jamie Raskin and Texas’ Joaquin Castro.  All three have said President Trump should be impeached.  Again, how does insanity encourage people to sign on with the Democrat Party?

Let’s be serious, pursuing Trump for impeachment due to him violating the Emoluments Clause is the epitome of a stupid idea.  The fact is that standing jurisprudence demands that anyone bringing a suit must have standing, and while I am far from being an expert on the subject, there is EXACTLY ZERO CHANCE anyone can prove and/or establish that they have been made to suffer in any way!  None, Zero, Zilch, Nada!! To argue that Trump (as a family industry) gaining profits from the use of his hotels amounts to a gift is stretch unto itself.  Payment for services rendered is not a gift, nor is the use of a hotel in exchange for money.  It's a fairly standard financial arrangement that a huge swath of the human race engages in daily.  In the end, this lunacy will fail, and you can take that to the bank.

And for some reason, that I am still not quite able to understand, supporters of Ellison seem to take a great deal of pleasure in being able to point to the fact that he was one of the few Democrats to ‘warn’ the party to take then-candidate Donald Trump's campaign seriously, as well as his advocacy for progressive Sen. Bernie Sanders.  Ellison's candidacy now boasts the support of Sanders, as well as Senate Minority Leader Chuckie Schumer and Sen. Elizabeth ‘Pocahontas Warren, while Tom Perez is said to have former Attorney General Eric Holder and ‘Slow Joe’ Biden in his corner.  The election will be held this weekend in Atlanta, and also includes several other candidates including Sally Boynton Brown and former Chairman Gov. Howard ‘The Screamer’ Dean.  If I was a Democrat I’d be worried.

And let’s not forget how it was that Ellison once said that “black people don’t live in a democracy” and “don’t have an obligation” to obey the government.  He made the comments at a 1992 protest after white police officers were acquitted in the beating of Rodney King.  At least 63 people died in the racially charged riots following the verdict.  Minnesota newspaper the Star Tribune quoted Ellison as telling a group of protesters in Minneapolis that “Black people do not live under a democracy.”  He said, “You don’t have an obligation to obey a government that considers you to be less than human.”  And too, Ellison once called for American blacks to have their own nation and called the U.S. Constitution the “best evidence of a white racist conspiracy to subjugate other peoples.”

But Ellison is by no means the only Democrat member of Congress to have ever belonged to a "Hate Group”.  After all, we had Robert Byrd, West Virginia Democrat, who was a proud member, as well as a recruiter for the Ku Klux Klan, Bobby Rush, Illinois Democrat, who was a member of the New Black Panthers, Ronald Dellums, California Democrat who was also a member of the New Black Panthers and then, of course, there was Cynthia McKinney, Georgia Democrat, who aligned herself with both New Black Panthers and the Nation of Islam. The Democrat Party has a long and rather colorful history of racism.  In fact, the Democrat Party is the party of slavery and of Jim Crow, is the creator of the KKK and the perpetuators of segregation for as long as it could. The Democrat Party has a long reputation as the party of hate.

All of which, I guess, brings me back to where I started, in that I just don’t understand how sounding crazy entices anyone to join your political party.  I mean, how willing will people be, at least those people who possess even the minimal amount of sanity, to join your party if all you do is to sound completely unhinged and continually make all manner of blatant politically incendiary statements?  I mean really, calling for the impeachment of a president who has been in office for only a month?  I mean if your endeavor is to rebuild your party, shouldn’t there come a point when you begin to see the wisdom in at least sounding somewhat coherent and rational?  Apparently not, at least if you’re a Democrat.  As a conservative first, and a Republican second, I truly do hope Ellison becomes the next chair of the DNC.
