OBAMACARE: NOTHING BUT ONE BIG LIE AFTER ANOTHER…AND YET…
Now I could swear that one of the many promises we were made about just how great this Obamacare thing was going to be, besides, of course, the one made, and repeated about 30 times, about how we’d be able to keep our doctor if we liked him, or her, was the one made about how it was going to reduce healthcare costs. Well we all know the first promise was nothing more than a bunch of bullshit and now, as it turns out, we find out that the second one is as well.
Because according to a recent report in the Wall Street Journal, consumers enrolled in Obamacare can expect to see an increase, and in some cases a pretty sizable one, in their monthly insurance premiums after the next election. And as it turns out those increases will "easily" outpace inflation, with every insurer in at least one state opting for rate increases. Now who other than your basic brain-dead Democrat, is really going to be surprised by such news?
According to official filings by insurance companies in Virginia for 2015, average rate increases range from 3.3 percent to as high as 16.6 percent for those enrolled in the online exchange, depending on the type of plan a consumer holds. And let’s not forget that Virginia’s new governor is a big Obamacare supporter. And I just can’t help but feel that all the while Barry was telling us about how this plan would save us all some money, he knew that it wouldn’t.
And something else that should not come as a surprise is the fact that these rate increases are directly related to the new costs insurers face under Obamacare due to the higher expense of insuring less healthy, previously uninsured enrollees, and also because of the new fees insurers are facing under the new healthcare law. At least that’s what one company told the Journal. So you have to ask yourself, how could this come as a surprise to Barry? It couldn’t!
Virginia is the first state to publicly release rate proposals for 2015, with other states expected to follow as early as this week, according to the Journal. In most parts of the country, figures will not be available until late summer. Predictions of rate increases have varied widely, but the projections for Virginia fall far short of what we were all told we could expect. Speculation nevertheless continues about the rise of future premiums under the new healthcare law.
Administration officials, including outgoing Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, have long said they expect rates to increase but believed provisions in the legislation designed to compensate insurers with higher medical claims would hold down rate increases. Virginia is one of the 36 states participating in the federal online insurance exchange through HealthCare.gov, with it being estimated that 216,000 Virginians were enrolled by 31 Mar.
And just to pass on a little personal experience of my own as it relates to this Obamacare fiasco. I was recently forced to change from an insurance plan that would have covered completely some recent testing that I had to have, to an insurance plan from which I received a bill for $600 for the very same testing. And all because of Obamacare. So this boondoggle definitely ain’t saving me any money! Each new day brings another new lie about Obamacre. What a deal!
Apparently, news about escalating premiums hasn’t seemed to do much to alter what many Democrats are saying about they’re being able to campaign on Obamacare this year. Personally, I don’t understand how anyone who has been forced into changing their insurance, or losing their doctor, could ever bring themselves to even consider voting for a Democrat. But if most Americans are content to receive second rate healthcare, then the Democrats will win.
