WELCOME TO OBAMA’S ‘SHUTDOWN’…

When it comes to the issue of our current government ‘shutdown’, Barry "Almighty", our ‘Dear Beloved Leader’, is being more than a little dishonest, which is nothing new, when discussing what exactly brought it about. The fact is, is that he and his fellow Democrats have simply refused to negotiate, slamming the door on reopening the government by doing nothing more than to make impossible demands. And, as stories across the country highlight the devastating impact that Obamacare is having on working families and small businesses, Democrats continue to reject any and all demands of fairness for all Americans.

And let’s face it, those of us who work at staying at least minimally informed should be not surprised at all by this continuing arrogant and egomaniacal behavior that we see coming from Barry and the Democrats. It’s not like we haven’t seen all before, and repeatedly. It’s part of a much bigger picture: that being, of course, Barry's scorched-Earth policy of refusing to negotiate in a bipartisan way on his health care law, current government funding, or the debt limit. We are just supposed to hear his commands and then obey. We are but the servant of this man who apparently sees himself as being nothing short of a God.

It was earlier this week that Senate Democrats, acting in concert with Barry "Almighty", rejected no less than four separate proposals from the House of Representatives that were designed to keep the government running and to fund all basic services. On Friday, September 20, the House passed legislation that would keep the government running, fund Medicare, Social Security, veterans benefits, and more, while removing funding for Barry’s debacle of a health care law, which is driving up costs and killing our economy. The Democratic-controlled Senate chose to reject this measure.

And then on Saturday, September 28, the House passed yet another measure to keep the government running, this time attempting to delay Barry's health care law for one year, and that would permanently repeal Obamacare's tax on such things as pacemakers and children's hearing aids. Senate Democrats again rejected the measure on a straight party-line vote. Oh and by the way, the House also passed the Pay Our Military Act, which ensures that our troops are paid during a government shutdown. Thankfully, that measure was adopted by the Senate and actually signed by Barry "Almighty".

And then just this past Monday, September 30, the House again passed another measure, albeit one that some would say was a pretty watered down version of the previous bills, that would keep the government running and ensure fairness for all Americans under the Barry's disastrous health care law. Since Barry had already illegally delayed the law's mandates on big businesses and insurance companies, this most recent bill would have done nothing more than to delay the law for everyone else. But, no surprise here, the Senate was quick to reject this measure as well. Obamacare is considered as being completely off-limits.

The House then passed a second bill late on Monday requesting a formal conference committee with the Senate to come to an agreement on legislation that provides funding for the federal government and delays the president's health care law for all Americans. After all, that is the system the Founding Fathers gave us to resolve differences between the House and Senate. The Senate then opposed that measure as well, so Senate Democrats and Barry "Almighty" got the government shutdown that they apparently so badly wanted. Because for them this is always about politics

Now in the meantime, it’s in just a few weeks that Congress must act to raise the debt limit to pay the tab for Barry's insane amount of spending. There is no way Congress can or should pass such a bill without there also being some pretty significant spending cuts and reforms to deal with the debt and deficit that, hopefully, would help get our economy moving in the right direction. But Barry refuses to even talk about negotiating such a bipartisan agreement. For years we have heard Barry say that in a divided government, no one gets 100% of what they want. I guess what he meant was, anybody but him.

Democrats, Barry included, love to talk about compromise, but rarely, if ever, do they ever actually take part in it. Democrats view compromise as being for suckers, and Republicans. From their rather skewed perspective there’s simply never any need for them to compromise because, and as ridiculous as this may sound, they claim to be the protector of the little guy, and as such are therefore entitled to do whatever they feel they must in that supposed endeavor. But the truth doesn’t quite match up with reality, because sadly, it’s just the opposite that’s true. They’ve done little to protect anyone but themselves.

I think it’s pretty common knowledge, or it should be, that the priorities of the Democrat Party rarely match up with the priorities of the American people, and nothing provides a better example of that than their stubborn refusal to modify Obamacare. That would be because this law that they ‘passed’, using all manner of political trickery, gives to them a level of control over people that, up until now, they have only been able to dream about. And now that they have it, they’re not likely to let go of it willingly. No matter what the people may feel about it. Our opinion simply doesn’t matter. All that matters is power!

And therein lies the reason behind the government shutdown and the primary reason why the Democrats refuse to budge when it comes to Obamacare. They have exempted themselves from the effects of it because, after all, there’s no need to control themselves. And I have no doubt that before long we’ll all be hearing about how it is that their union friends have also be exempted. So the only ones who will be made to comply with this thing will be we, the unwashed masses. And I am not a firm believer that this law will come crashing down under its own weight, it’s going to need to be brought down. One way or another!
