Well, as some of you may have heard, that bizarre little group referred to as the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) recently released its latest dire warning about what it calls "catastrophic" climate change. Yes, my friends, once again we’re being told that the end is near unless we further bankrupt ourselves in trying prevent the unpreventable. While many a climate expert was quick to ridicule this conglomeration of what is some seriously flawed unscientific gobble-dee-goop, it did manage to garner the frantic attention of all three major broadcast networks almost as soon as it hit the street. The Communist Broadcasting System, or (CBS), even went so far as to air one of the claims of the report, that temperatures could be rising "more than 200 degrees."
But, as is usually the case whenever dealing with our, less than trustworthy, state-controlled media complex, the evening news shows on ABC, CBS and NBC, in repeating the IPCC’s dire warnings, did so with nary a mention of the report’s many prominent skeptics and without bothering to mention any of the IPCC’s glaring failures of the past, such as their inability to accurately predict warming or sea level rise. ABC, NBC and CBS all failed to include any criticism whatsoever of the IPCC with the exception of what was nothing more than a sophomoric swipe at "skeptics" on ABC. NBC continued to do its best to link such weather events as Hurricane Sandy to climate change while CBS aired a statistic that one scientist called completely "meaningless."
And with the words "big warning" in bold letters extending across the screen, ABC announced this "landmark" report, describing it as coming from some "top scientists." Then some guy, who I can only assume must be their resident climate change doofus, Dan Harris, went on to mention weather events including "superstorm Sandy," after which he ominously warned that the "UN report says we will be seeing much more of these kinds of things in the coming decades as a result of climate change ..." But let’s face it, this idiotic IPCC has been saying this kind of stuff for years. And yet, other than the stray fluke, which Sandy most certainly was, nothing has happened that would provide any amount of proof that they know what the Hell they’re talking about.
And while this imbecile, Harris, did go on to acknowledge the existence of other viewpoints on the topic, he then immediately proceeded to tear them all down by saying, "skeptics have predictably accused the UN panel of being alarmist, but Princeton climate scientist Michael Oppenheimer, who is on the panel, says this is a major wake up call." Yet this supposed scientist, Oppenheimer, himself has been accused of perpetuating what has been proven to be nothing more than activist junk science from other bogus scientists, according to meteorologist Anthony Watts’ website. But of course our boy Harris, here, didn’t bother to mention any of that. No sense in clouding the issue by throwing in any relevant facts. After all, what good would that do?
The geniuses over at the Communist Broadcasting System, otherwise known as CBS, took a slightly different approach, deciding to air a story about oyster farming and sprinkling in complaints that climate change is ruining a man’s business. But in Ben Tracy’s story, which of course made prominent mention of the IPCC’s latest report, he said that oceans have absorbed much of the heat caused by CO2 and that ocean temperatures have risen only slightly. Then he made a claim that Principal Research Scientist Dr. Roy Spencer of the University of Alabama in Huntsville called "totally misleading and irresponsible." Tracy actually made the claim, "Had all that heat gone into the atmosphere, air temperatures could have risen by more than 200 degrees."
Dr. Spencer told the MRC’s Business and Media Institute, "The oceans have warmed by an average of less than 0.1 deg. C (only the SURFACE by about 0.5 deg.) since the 1950s, and since that is so much water mass, the absorbed heat equivalent to 0.1 deg. If released all at once in the atmosphere [it] would, indeed, be hundreds of degrees. But this is physically impossible. It is a meaningless statistic. The heat actually had to go through the atmosphere before it reached the ocean." But, as is usually the case with our state-controlled media, the idiotic nonsense didn’t stop with CBS. All three networks seemed to be singing from the same sheet of U.N. crafted, global warming music.
Because according to the rather dim bulbs over there at NBC, we are now "hurtling" at near breakneck speed toward that day when climate change will be "irreversible and catastrophic." There resident ‘Chicken Little’, some bimbo by the name of Anne Thompson, actually warned us that if things remain unchanged, the seas would rise three feet by the end of the century, and we’d have more storms like Sandy. But oddly enough, the media’s many claims about hurricanes and "Superstorm" Sandy simply don’t line up with the facts. The U.S. is currently experiencing a drought of "intense" hurricanes, and climatologist Dr. John Christy, of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, has noted that even Sandy was a "minimal hurricane" at best.
Yet, NBC was sounding the alarm, calling for "drastic" changes in carbon emissions. Anne Thompson interviewed some environmentalist wacko by the name of Jeff Masters, of the equally wacko, Weather Underground. Regarding CO2 emissions, she asked him "How much longer can we go?" He responded by saying, "We’ve got about 30 or 40 years before we have to completely stop and go to zero." Christy said he has examined the climate models used for the latest IPCC report, all of which failed to account for the lack of warming since 1996. He stated that he had analyzed all 73 models used in the latest IPCC report and not one accurately predicted that the Earth’s temperature would remain flat since Oct. 1, 1996.
And so it should come as no surprise that all three networks made sure to exclude any and all information from their segments regarding the IPCC’s less than impressive track record. None pointed out the IPCC’s lack of explanation for the "pause" in global warming over the past 15 years, although Scott Pelley mentioned that "the rise in air temperatures has slowed." The networks also failed to mention embarrassing "mistakes," such as the inclusion in the 2007 IPCC report of an "unfounded" prediction that the Himalayan glaciers would melt by 2035. They have made predictions time and again that far exceeded actual climate changes, as The Daily Mail (UK) reported on Sept. 14. But ABC, CBS and NBC didn’t consider that worth mentioning to viewers on Sept. 27.
That our much vaunted state-controlled media would take it upon themselves to perpetuate what is nothing more than pure propaganda should make it all the more apparent that they are simply no longer worthy of our attention or trust. They seem quite willing, and almost eager, to busy themselves by spreading all manner of false information. And for what purpose, exactly? What kind of sick person must you be to sit in front a television camera, night after night, and do nothing more than to tell lie upon lie to your fellow Americans? But that’s what those who profess to call themselves journalist do these days. No one in the media, or very few, actually tells the truth anymore. And it’s not just on this bogus climate change, the list of things that we are lied to about is nearly endless.
And "We the People" are the ones who suffer, because we have fewer and fewer sources of accurate information. These days we must automatically assume that everybody is lying to us. And more often that not they are. It’s just all so damn depressing. Staying informed these days is hard work, and the problem lies in the fact that most people don’t want to expend the energy. They’d rather sit in front of the boob-tube and listen to the idiots listed above spew their drivel. They believe the garbage they’re being told without ever bothering to take the time to find out if any of it is true. These are dark times my friends and getting very much darker and those in the press are working feverishly to keep things from us. So believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you can see.
