PETE KING…WHINER…
You know, I really used to really respect this guy, especially when it came to stressing the importance for this country to effectively combat radical Islamic terrorism. He held some hearings that, I thought, were necessary and useful. But recently he’s been making the kind of noise that one would normally expect to hear from some scum-sucking Democrat. For one thing, he’s been very busy criticizing Ted Cruz, and was recently heard whining a bit about some phone calls that his office has supposedly received. He complained that supporters of the Texas senator have been bombarding his office with what he referred to as being, "vile" phone calls. Come on, Pete, stop being such a damn crybaby, and suck it up and deal with it!
And in what I thought was a little uncalled for, Pete actually referred to Cruz as a fraud for his calls to defund Obamacare, and said the senator’s campaign this summer to get the House to pass a government funding bill that defunds the health care law led to some offensive phone calls to his office. "The vehemence of the phone calls coming into the office. I don’t care, people can call me whatever they want … I haven’t heard such vile, profane, obscene language," King whined on MSNBC’s "Morning Joe" on Thursday. Come on, he’s from New York, I doubt that there’s much in the way of language that he hasn’t heard. And I’d argue that he’s brought it all on himself by describing Cruz in the manner that he has?
King said while the majority of Cruz fans are "good people," he’s concerned about what sentiments Cruz has preyed on. "I’m not saying Ted Cruz is responsible for all his supporters, but he has tapped into a dark strain here in the American political psyche here, and again, the most obscene, profane stuff you can imagine all from people who say they support the Constitution," King said. "I think what we have to do is reach out to his people and let them know that they’re following a false leader here." You know, maybe if he were to spend a little less time whining, and a little more time on trying to get rid of the boondoggle of Obamacare, we just might get rid of it. I think it’s time for Pete to quit whining and put his big boy pants on.
Anyway, it seems to me that old Pete, here, has developed a bit of a thin skin. And most likely there’s more than just a little exaggeration in his claims of receiving ‘nasty’ calls. And to portray Cruz as being a false leader I think is taking things just a bit too far. Now I’m not saying I believe King, but if he has been on the receiving end of some heated phone calls, he really shouldn’t be all that surprised. People are fed up with guys like King continuing to give away the farm to the Democrats, and Cruz has demonstrated that he’s ready, and willing, to fight. That’s what people WANT. Someone who will FIGHT! And if Pete can’t bring himself to be part of the solution, then he shouldn’t be surprised if folks see him as being part of the problem.
