Ya know, it has always struck me a being more than just a little hypocritical how it is that it’s always the ones making the loudest accusations about someone’s being intolerant, who are always, well, the most intolerant. Be it those who are pro-abortion or pro-gay, or pro anything that is something perceived as slightly outside the norm, the only ones who supposed to be tolerant are those of us who are neither pro-abortion, pro-gay or pro anything else, for that matter. We’re the one who supposed to change our morals or beliefs to fit their lifestyle. Why, so they can feel excepted, or normal? Why do they need my blessing for the way they choose to live their lives? And if it’s not about that, what is it about? What do these people insist upon being so in your face, or my face, with their behavior. Because maybe, just maybe, if they were a little less so they may gain for themselves a few more allies.
So apparently now some imbecilic, and rather childish, gay rights activists joined by some of their more juvenile supporters of ‘marriage equality’, plan a little retaliation, of sorts, in the form of a national "Kiss In" at Chick-fil-A restaurants Friday to protest the fast-food chain owners' opposition to same-sex unions. Apparently the many sophomoric participants in this little exercise in childish stupidity are being encouraged to come to the fast-food chains and kiss a fellow demonstrator of the same sex. Man, what an idea. Boy, that’ll sure pay ‘em back! One of the organizers of this little retaliatory strike, some airhead by the name of Carly McGehee of Dallas, said she hopes the event "helps LGBT youth who feel isolated and are victims of bullying." Sorry, there, Ms. McGehee, but I’m afraid you’re liable to be a bit disappointed in what you achieve here. It may be just the opposite!
These supposed gatherings of “Kiss In” participants come just two days after literally hundreds of thousands of customers, many of them conservative Christians, recognized "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" at more than 1,600 locations. This action was purely spontaneous, it didn’t require any loudmouth zealots to organize it. It just happened, everywhere! Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy stirred what was described as a ‘controversy’ by confirming his opposition to same-sex marriage. The Southern Baptist Cathy family has long been known for publicly expressing its faith, including never opening their businesses on Sundays. But such a statement was simply not to be tolerated by the overly sensitive gay community. How dare this guy say such a thing! So essentially it was their own intolerance that spawned ‘Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day’.
So now with what is essentially a ‘we’ll just shown them’ kind of mentality, some of us very likely will end up being subjected to those taking part in this proposed ‘Kiss In’, which I am sure will garner for the gay community even more friends. Sometimes I think these clowns are nothing more than their own worst enemies. They think that by shoving their ‘unconventional’ lifestyle down the throats of the rest of us that we’ll eventually send up the white flag of surrender and just give in to their ‘unconventional’ demands. Sorry, but I just don’t see that happening. That’s just not how it works. Because the harder they try to do so, speaking for myself, the more stubborn my resistance will become. They’re either going to have to be willing to compromise, or suffer the consequences of their own actions. The choice is essentially theirs. I’m not going to be forced into accepting their lifestyle without them being a little more accepting of mine.
The end goal, IMHO, is to make as many people as possible angry such that some type of violence can erupt and they can claim their rights are violated and that they are the target of hard-core bigots.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I hope people simply lose their lunch when they see this display and walk away.
Fortunately, I think, those on the right react to these things so much differently. It's those on the left who typically respond with violence. So I think any attempt here to incite violence will simply fall flat. Classic example would be, out of all the Tea Party gathers how many random acts of violence took place? Now how about those Occupy Wall Street types. Night and day.
