Barry went to Ohio, and proceeded to spew what has now become his standard fare. He is now desperate to divide us in anyway that he can, because he sees that as being the only option that he has left. Between now the election he and his team of smear merchants will be throwing everything they have at Romney. Their purpose being, of course, to distract attention away from the horrible position Barry has now put this country in. He can’t run on the economy, he can’t run on the fact that unemployment has been above 8 percent for over 40 consecutive months, and he can’t run on the fact that over 40 million people are on food stamps or on the fact that gas is once again approaching 4 dollars a gallon. He must work to set us upon each other.
"Now, despite the evidence, the entire centerpiece of my opponent’s economic plan is a new, $5 trillion tax cut on top of the Bush tax cuts. Now, the bulk of this tax cut would go to the very top. A lot of it would go to the wealthiest 1 percent of all households. Folks making more than $3 million a year -- the top one-tenth of one percent -- would get a tax cut worth almost a quarter of a million dollars. Now, think about that. Folks making $3 million a year or more would get a quarter-of-a-million-dollar tax cut," Barry said at a campaign event in Mansfield, Ohio on Wednesday.
"But it gets worse. Under my opponent's plan, guess who gets the bill for these $250,000 tax cuts? You do. And you don’t have to take my word for it. Just today, an independent, non-partisan organization ran all the numbers. And they found that if Governor Romney wants to keep his word and pay for his plan, he'd have to cut tax breaks that middle-class families depend on to pay for your home, or your health care, or send your kids to college. That means the average middle-class family with children would be hit with a tax increase of more than $2,000," he said.
"And here's the thing, he's not asking you to contribute more to pay down the deficit. He's not asking you to pay more to invest in our children's education or rebuild our roads or put more folks back to work. He's asking you to pay more so that people like him can get a big tax cut," Barry told the crowd.
So my friends, will we allow him to do succeed? Will we allow him to set us fighting with our neighbors, our fellow employees, or even our friends? Will allow him to convince us that we should somehow be jealous of those who, because of their own hard work, may have a bit more than we do? After all, who fault is that really? We need to send Barry a message. A message that is loud and clear. A message that says that we’re not interested in anything he has to say. A message that says we don’t hate someone just because they made a wiser use of their time spent on this Earth. That’s not their fault, it’s ours. We need to make sure he knows that we are not interested in the hate and the divisiveness that he preaches. We need to tell him to go to Hell!
