Leave it to Danny Glubber (Glover) to come up with even a more inventive way to slam our Second Amendment and, in so doing, our Constitution. Once again demonstrating the fact that he’s as stupid as he is racist, the well-known Hollywood loon, in speaking to a group of students at Texas A&M as part of an event held in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., made the claim that the sole purpose behind the Second Amendment to our Constitution, was to bolster slavery and to capture land from the American Indian. Well gee, you sure could have fooled me, how fortunate for the rest of us, as well as those students, that we have a genius like old Danny, here, around to keep us all on the straight and narrow, historically speaking. I never would have thought of that.
Speaking as the true expert on the Constitution that we know him to be, old Danny said, "I don’t know if you know the genesis of the right to bear arms." And in what I guess was an attempt by him to demonstrate his prowess in the area of American history to these same students, he went on to say, "The Second Amendment comes from the right to protect themselves from slave revolts, and from uprisings by Native Americans." Continuing with his cockamamie theory, he said, "A revolt from people who were stolen from their land or revolt from people whose land was stolen from, that’s what the genesis of the second amendment is." Having heard this clown spew his unique brand of drivel on previous occasions, this level of nonsense came as no surprise to me.
The Director of Texas A&M’s Memorial Student Center, some doofus named Luke Altendorf, told Campus Reform on Friday that the university was completely unaware of Glubber’s talking points prior to his speech. "I had no idea, we really didn’t know that topic was coming up," he told Campus Reform. "Someone was asking a question about activism, I think that’s where some of that came from." Look, Glubber’s been spewing his crap for decades, so it should have been pretty much common knowledge what he might want to talk about. And while it might have been difficult to know, ahead of time, the exact topic of his little ‘speech, it most definitely should not have been too difficult to figure out from which direction, politically speaking, it would be coming.
This goof, Altendorf also declined to say if, or how much, the school might have paid for Glubber’s little leftist rant, but what he did say was that student fees were not used to cover the cost. But it’s important for everyone to keep in mind here that Glubber is far from being the first leftist kook to ever come onto this particular campus and that in the past the university has paid other leftist luminaries such as Angela Davis and Harry Belafonte $25,000 for them to appear at the same event. This imbecile Altendorf also went on to defend the school’s decision to host controversial speakers with university resources, he described it as being an effort to foster discussion. It was actually nothing more than part of the indoctrination that we all send out kids to college to receive.
The above recording of the event was captured by members of a student group, the Texas Aggie Conservatives (TAC). Eric Schroeder, who is chairman of the group, called the event "outrageous." And I can’t argue with that! And in referring to the memorial breakfast for King, he said, "It should be a time for real reflection and respect." He added, "Instead, the university pushes a political agenda." Schroeder also called on university President Bowen Loftin to make up for the event by inviting a conservative speaker of equal star power. But if I was Mr. Schroeder, here, I think I’d work on setting my sights a tad bit higher than someone possessing Glubber’s so-called "star power." What "star power" Glubber might have at one time had, faded a long time ago.
