BEWARE THE RACIST MALCONTENTS AMONG US...

Ya know, it's a pretty damn sad day when right here in America, someone in law enforcement has to, as the Broward County Sheriff’s Office did on Monday, release a video calling on the public not to riot in the wake of something like the George Zimmerman verdict, expected this week or next here in Florida. The Sheriff’s Office released a statement explaining that it was "working closely with the Sanford Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies" to coordinate "a response plan in anticipation of the verdict." That someone would perceive the need for such a thing to even be discussed is an embarrassment enough for a civilized society, but that there should actually be a need for it to be put it into action is nothing short of a black eye, no pun intended, on this country.

The video, entitled "Raise Your Voice, Not Your Hands," focuses on attempting to channel reaction into non-violent response. It depicts two youngsters, one black teenage boy, one Hispanic teenage girl. "Raise your voice!" says the girl. "And not your hands!" says the boy. "We need to stand together as one, no cuffs, no guns," says the girl. "Let’s give violence a rest, because we can easily end up arrested," says the boy. "I know your patience will be tested," says the girl, and then both conclude, "but law enforcement has your back!" But really, does anyone really think that some silly little video will actually dissuade those interested in nothing more than creating violence and destruction, from doing just that? If so, then they fail to realize what really motivates those who possess that sick need to destroy.

"Let’s back up and choose not to act up, and deputies are with us, so no need to act up," says the boy. "Let it roll off your shoulders," says the girl, "it’s water off your back, don’t lack composure, because in one instant it could be over." Both conclude: "So let’s make the choice to raise your voice and not your hands." Sheriff Scott Israel says, "I’m Sheriff Scott Israel, and law enforcement does have your back." All of this nonsense because of one segment of our population who seems to be constantly on the prowl for any excuse to behave like the racist malcontents that they apparently are. As if we're really supposed to buy into the idiocy that these people are genuinely all that upset over the death of one more black punk. Sorry, but I for one, just ain't buying it. It's just an excuse, nothing more.

"Freedom of expression is a constitutional right," the Sheriff’s Department states. "While raising your voice is encouraged, using your hands is not. BSO has created a public service announcement with the help of kids from the Jason Taylor Foundation, H.A.N.D.Y. (Helping Abused, Neglected, Disadvantaged Youth) and basketball star James Jones of the championship Miami Heat team urging young people not to let their emotions get the best of them." Not let their emotions get the best of them? Give me a break! Hey look, I've got an idea, how about we simply all choose to act like responsible adults for a change? This kid wasn't killed because he was black, even most blacks realize that, he was killed because he intended to take the life of a white human being if he could have.

Sheriff Scott Israel said, "We don’t have information about a specific event that might take place at the conclusion of the trial, but we encourage everyone to keep any protests peaceful." The Department says that it is keeping its channels of communication open with "community leaders, civic activists, members of the clergy, as well as local, state and federal agencies." Well I suppose that's all well and good, but why is it that just because if you happen to be black, you're somehow 'entitled' to take the law into own hands if the outcome of a trial such is this one is not to your liking. I mean, you don't see whites going on the rampage every time some black gets to walk free. And just BECAUSE THEY'RE BLACK! Oh, but wait a minute, that's something different entirely.

To listen to blacks you'd think that they were somehow the only people every to be made to suffer the indignity of being placed into slavery. I hate to be the one here to bust their little bubble, but they are far from being the only race ever to be subjected to slavery. So I think it's high time they finally get over it, since it ended, for them, nearly 150 years ago. I've heard of carrying a grudge, but geez-louise, get the Hell over it. But I suppose it doesn't help matters much when you've got assholes like Sharpton and Jackson out there fanning the flames of hatred while their brain dead minions soak it all in. There's a special place in Hell being reserved for those two goons. Anyway, be that as it may I wouldn't want to be Sheriff Israel right about now. He's got the impossible task of trying to reason with people who have no interest in being reasoned with.
