HOUSE MEMBERS CLAIM TO HAVE READ 1648 PAGE BILL…

Let me start by saying that I very much doubt that Sheila Jackson Lee, that Democrat genius from Texas, is incapable of reading anything written much beyond the third grade level. So when she stated yesterday morning that she was "still reading" the bipartisan $585 Billion, 1,648-page National Defense Authorization bill I wasn’t the least bit surprised. Because the way I figure it, this moron will be about half way through it come this time next year.

So it was then that the House Republican leadership posted the bill online at 10:32 pm Tuesday night and was set for a floor vote yesterday, when it would go on to be passed 300-119. Before the vote Jackson Lee said, "I have the bill in my office and I am not prepared to vote on a bill that I am still reading, and so I’ll be on the floor raising the point of putting this bill on the floor without the opportunity for a full discussion on the questions of war and peace."

Some enterprising young reporter asked the stellar representative from Texas, "So you’re planning to read all of it before you vote on it?" To wish Jackson Lee responded, "If I have that finished, I’ll make a determination whether the Republicans have adequately provided members a time on the floor to debate it and a time on the floor to know the complete contents of the bill." So can we assume she had it finished before the big vote yesterday?

So why is it that this piece of legislation had to be over 1,600-pages long anyway? Because while this bill is supposed to include thing related to defense appropriations it is also said to contain several, shall we say, non-defense provisions. For instance it also includes the creation of new national parks and the establishment of a commission to develop a plan for, get this, a National Museum of Women’s History. Women’s History? Really?

Look, don’t get me wrong, I’m not naïve enough to think that this moron, Jackson Lee, is the ‘only’ House member out there busy making noisy claims that they ‘knew’ what was in the entire bill, when we all know, for a fact, that not one of them did. It’s just easy to pick on Jackson Lee because she’s just so damn stupid. And while many of us were likely born at night, it wasn’t last night, so we’re more than able to see right through these idiotic claims.

CONGRESS TO VETS, “BEND OVER AND SPREAD ‘EM”…

It was earlier today that the U.S. Senate voted 64-36 Wednesday to pass the two-year Ryan-Murray budget agreement. RINO Paul Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee, and Democrat Patty Murray, chairmoron of the Senate Budget Committee, both continued to make the idiotic claim that their plan will reduce the nation’s deficit by $23 Billion and scale back the March 1 automatic spending cuts known as sequester. But let’s be serious, can we? In an age of a $17 Trillion debt, and where annual $1 Trillion deficits have become the norm, $23 Billion in cuts over 10 years really is a bit of a joke. And yet, after the vote RINO Ryan had the gall to say, "This vote shows both parties, in both chambers, can find common ground. We can work together." This entire exercise has been nothing more than a charade.

The supposed deal was titled "The Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013," and it will essentially replace sequester cuts, which is what the Democrats had been seeking since the sequester went into effect, with supposed savings from some mythical future-year cuts. It also sets the budget cap for fiscal years 2014 and 2015 at $1.012 Trillion and $1.014 Trillion, respectively. Prior to the bill’s passage, the budget cap for fiscal years 2014 and 2015 was $967 Billion and $995 Billion, respectively. The bill will require federal civilian and military employees to contribute more to their pensions, it will increase premiums on companies whose pension plans are insured by taxpayers and it will levy new airline fees on travelers. So I think Ryan is being a bit disingenuous when he said it doesn’t raise taxes.

Now what was really nothing more than an opportunity to try to fool their folks back home and therefore was an action steeped in pure politics, Senators Alexander, Blunt and Flake all voted "yay" on cloture, which moved the bill on to what was final vote today, and yet chose to vote "nay" on the bill’s final passage. But I’ll tell you what, as far as I’m concerned, at the end of the day these three scumbags essentially voted ‘for’ the bill. Because if no Republicans had voted for cloture yesterday, the bill would not have been voted on today where, since it was a simple majority vote, it was guaranteed to pass. So while these pathetic frauds may be able to tell their constituents back in their respective states that they didn’t ‘actually’ vote ‘for’ the bill, the fact of the matter is that they did. And as such they have all outlived their usefulness.

Although it passed with what was little resistance, by congressional standards, the budget deal, which takes the possibility of a government shutdown off the table for the next two years, has sparked a bit of a war between Republican leaders and several conservative groups including Heritage Action and FreedomWorks. I’m sure everyone remembers John Boehner’s recent temper tantrum where he said of those groups who attacked the bill, "They’re pushing our members in places where they don’t want to be, and frankly I think they’ve lost all credibility." With him going on to say, "It just comes to a point where some people step over the line. When you criticize something and you have no idea what you’re criticizing, it undermines your credibility." Boehner needs to be careful when talking about the credibility of others.

RINO Ryan responded to critics, including Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), by arguing that the bill, although not perfect, is a good step toward future deficit reduction. "Read the deal and get back to me," RINO Ryan said in response to Rubio’s claim that the budget deal would "make it harder for Americans to achieve the American dream." RINO Ryan went to perpetuate the same excuse that has been spewed by many who I would say are simply afraid of a fight. He said, "People are going to do what they need to do. Look, in the minority you don’t have the burden of governing." And then, in sounding like the RINO that he is, Ryan added that Rubio’s move to condemn the bill "was a little strange." Oh really? Actually, what I find as being a little strange, are the lengths Ryan went to sell this things.

You know, as far as I’m concerned, Ryan has turned out to be not much more than a severe disappointment on several levels. Back during the days when Obamacare was first being put together by the then Democrat majority in Congress, I thought he did a great job as the Republican point man in making a very convincing case against it. But in creating this supposed budget compromise that does absolutely nothing to cut spending, he was nothing more than blatantly dishonest in his efforts to sell it others. And a great many lies were told and many facts were either distorted or simply glossed over. And when problems with the bill were pointed out, that’s when we saw the Speaker of the House throw his hissy-fit. Republicans seemed determined in their efforts to give to the Democrat nearly everything they wanted.

WILL BOEHNER THROW US UNDER THE BUS? MOST LIKELY!!

Recently, ‘Old Stretch’, in reference to current ongoing negotiations regarding that much talked about fiscal cliff and taxes, made the simplistic, and rather idiotic claim that, "the election was held, the people have spoken," in her effort to suggest that Americans support tax hikes for those "people at the high end." In her appearance on NPR, which aired Wednesday evening, Stretch was asked about Congress’ need to address the quickly approaching fiscal cliff. "This is just a decision. There’s no mystery, there’s no new factors that are going to enter into the situation," she said. Adding, "The debate is a clear one. The election was held. The people have spoken." Droning on she continued, "The president campaigned on this balanced and fair, big agreement -- now let’s just get down and write it." Going on to say, "As far as the middle-income tax cut, that’s really the sticking point."

Congress has little time to broker a deal with Barry regarding extending the Bush era tax rates and addressing automatic defense and domestic spending cuts before the end of the year. Much, of not all, of the debate has centered primarily on taxes, because Democrats like Stretch have no interest in discussing spending cuts, because they fully expect the Republican-controlled House to cave on their efforts to keep tax rates down for all Americans. Barry has repeatedly argued for extending the Bush rates only for those Americans who make under $250,000 annually, claiming ad nauseam how it is that the rich need to "pay their fair share." Many small business owners, mom-and-pop operations, as well as dual-income households file annual incomes over $250,000 but they are not all multi-millionaires or billionaires. It’s these folks who are the real job creators in our economy, and the more they pay in taxes the fewer folks they can hire.

NPR Host Robert Siegel asked old ‘Stretch’ about whether she thought that the House Republicans might have a mandate on taxes, given that they maintained their majority. "What do you say to Republican House members who say, ‘the public spoke, they reelected us. They kept us in the majority and sent us back. We’re the same people who rejected the deal the last time the grand bargain was on the table, so we’ve been reaffirmed in our position,’" Seigel asked. "Well, they don’t say they rejected the deal. They say the president rejected the deal," Stretch complained. "But you have it right. But you have it right." Siegel responded saying, "I’m putting words in their mouths." He went on to ask, "What’s wrong with them saying, ‘We have the same position now that we had then and that our voters told us go back to Washington and make those Democrats agree with you’?"

Stretch responded to that in typical gibberish, "I don’t think that their voters told them to go back and make Medicare into a voucher." Adding, "I don’t think that their voters told them to come back to Washington to cut benefits for middle-income people when it comes to Social Security and Medicare. I don’t think that their voters told them that." She then said, "And all the polls will indicate that the voters believe that people at the high end should pay their fair share." Going a little further she claimed, "What they campaigned on was an oath of office to a lobbyist, that they would never raise taxes," Pelosi said, apparently referring to Grover Norquist’s Americans for Tax Reform pledge to oppose taxes while in Congress. "To a lobbyist, they took an oath of office. We think their oath of office, as Representative [Tom] Cole [R-Okla.] mentioned, should supersede that." What a load of bullshit from this old hag!

Rep. Cole did say on Tuesday, "I think we ought to take the 98 percent deal right now," and allow taxes to go up for higher income earners. "It doesn’t mean I agree with raising the top 2," said Cole. "I don’t," he said, arguing that Republicans should only debate taxes for the top income earners after the so-called middle-class tax cuts are extended. Cole said he did not consider his position a violation of the Norquist pledge, because Republicans would be voting to lower the rates for the majority of Americans and do nothing for the rest. Speaker of the House John Boehner said Wednesday that he disagreed with Cole, and will seek an agreement to extend all of the Bush tax rates. "He's a wonderful friend of mine and a great supporter of mine, but raising taxes on the so-called top 2 percent, half of those taxpayers are small-business owners that pay their taxes through their personal income tax filing every year," Boehner said.

Boehner added, "The goal here is to grow the economy and control spending. You're not going to grow the economy if you raise tax rates on the top two [percent]." He made the point that, "It'll hurt small businesses. It'll hurt our economy." Look, I’m not in favor of raising anyone’s taxes right now, UNLESS, there are concrete agreements made that result in very substantial cuts being made in entitlement programs NOW, not at some mythical point in the future. We have been down this road before of raising taxes now with promises made of cutting spending later. Democrats lie, that’s just what they do, and it’s all that they do. And old Stretch is very good at it, as is Barry "Almighty." Republicans need not to be agreeing to anything unilaterally. And if they do, I think it very safe to say that they are done as a viable political party. Their priorities have got to be what’s best for the country, not what they think gives them the best chance to get re-elected.

MOST AMERICANS THINK THAT CONGRESS SUCKS…AND SUCKS BIG-TIME!

Just when it seemed as if voters’ antipathy toward Congress couldn’t get any worse, along comes a Rasmussen survey which says that the approval rating of Congress has now slipped back into single digits. It now stands at a depressing 9 percent, tying an all-time low. And therefore the American people continue to come out on the short end of the stick because of the ineptitude and blatant corruption of our political "leaders." With no apparent progress being made regarding our lackluster economy, high unemployment, high gas prices, and the ongoing stalemate over raising the federal debt, I feel it safe to say that the American people have pretty much lost all faith in the ability of these career politicians to do what needs to be done to get this country back on the right track. “Congress is totally discredited as an institution,” so says Democratic pollster and Fox News commentator Doug Schoen. “I never thought it could go this low." “But given its performance and the economic crisis we are facing, it is not inconceivable that it could go lower still,” warns Schoen, the author of “Mad as Hell: How the Tea Party Movement Is Fundamentally Remaking Our Two-Party System.” And yet, when was the last time you saw any member of Congress who seemed to be the least bit distraught or who expressed any level of concern regarding the low opinion which a majority of the American people now have of Congress. I never see any who seem to be too terribly tore up about it. Hell, they're still gonna get their enormous paychecks regardless of what we think of them. What the heck to they care what we think about them. They're all so confident that come election time we all will have forgotten about everything, let bygones be bygones, and march off to the polls and vote them all right back in again.

Oddly enough, 9 percent of all respondents in the recent Rasmussen Reports survey actually felt that Congress is doing a good or excellent job. These morons have got to be the dumbest folks on the planet. Either that or they just happen to be the recipients of some of the larger government subsidizes currently being doled out. That number compares with the 50 percent who rate congressional job performance as being poor. I'm sure if there was an option that was below poor, many would have chosen that. Anyway, this recent poll marked the second straight month that congressional approval has hit 9 percent. From January 2007 to December 2010, when the Democrats were in control of both chambers of Congress, congressional approval varied from a low of 9 percent to a high, sort of, of 26 percent, Rasmussen Reports says. Most of the time during that period, congressional ratings hovered in the low teens. Most people are now wondering just how low can it go. Now personally, wouldn't you think that just this kind of a situation would create an ideal opportunity for Republicans to demonstrate some much needed leadership as well as some adult supervision? Isn't that what we all were expecting to happen after the last election? I mean what better time than now for the Republicans to be proactive and to demonstrate to the American people that they are not part of the problem but are a big part of the solution to what's really needed regarding all that presently ails America. But, I'm just not seeing it. Right now my favorite congressman is Rep. Allen West. He is exactly the kind of no nonsense guy that we need a whole lot more of in Congress. He just makes so much damn sense. The bottom line here is that it's now time for the Republicans to LEAD!


Other findings from the survey:


Voters are increasingly inclined to say that the primary role of Congress is to keep bad legislation from becoming law. Previously, most respondents said the main job of Congress was to pass good laws to benefit the nation. Voters now are split evenly, suggesting that they want poor legislation to be blocked.


Just 16 percent of survey respondents say Congress has passed legislation in the past year that will improve life in America significantly.


Eighty percent of respondents say members of Congress care more about advancing their own careers than helping their constituents.


A plurality, 42 percent, say they believe that the majority of members of Congress are corrupt, according to the Rasmussen Reports survey, compared with 32 percent who do not believe they are corrupt and 26 percent who are not sure. 

CHUCK SCHUMER, THE "FRANK BURNS" OF THE U.S. SENATE!

According to that stellar U.S. Senator, "Chuckie" Schumer, that pillar of honesty and integrity, right, the fact that the Republicans may now be threatening to deny an increase in the government’s debt ceiling is to be considered as being nothing short if irresponsible and seen as “playing with fire.” Ya know, in reality, doesn’t the extreme level of irresponsibility that is present here lie with guys like "Chuckie?" You know, it's guys like "Chuckie" who continue to spend vast sums of money, money that we do not have, that essentially allows them to continue on with their arcane notion that if we can just, somehow, spend enough money, we can magically bring about some semblance of an economic recovery. That little theory has been disproven more times than I care to talk about, to the point where I think it safe to describe anyone who chooses to still stubbornly defend it, as fitting the definition of being insane. Because they believe that no matter how many times such a train of thought is pursued, they will eventually hit upon their desired outcome, that, of course, being a thriving economy. And when someone finally does step up to make the claim that this whole cockamamie concept is based on a myth, it's always guys like "Chuckie" here, who come pretty much completely unhinged, using all types of accusatory rhetoric in an effort to deflect attention and who remain committed to an obviously indefensible position. “If we didn’t renew the debt ceiling, our soldiers and veterans wouldn’t be paid, social security checks wouldn’t go out,” the New York Democrat said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” program. “Worst of all, we might permanently threaten confidence of the credit markets in the dollar, which would create a recession worse than the one we have now, or even a depression.” And just why is that, Chuck? Might it be because you and your corrupt little cadre of cohorts have been spending money in such a way that can only be described as being reckless? Borrowing like absolute fiends from our “friends” the Communist Chinese, while you go about mortgaging the futures of our kids? What do you think, there Chuck, old buddy? At this point in time what guys like "Chuckie" are trying to do is to present the image that yet another “crisis” is looming just over the horizon all in an effort to blackmail the rest of us so that we buy into their never-ending madness. It's guys like "Chuckie" who have worked feverishly to bring this calamity upon us, and I can only assume that they were thinking that when all this would come due, which they had to know, they'd still be in control. And being still in control they would just arbitrarily raise the debt ceiling, forcing it through like they did their bogus healthcare/insurance reform and number of other things. And that we the people would then find ourselves in the position of having no recourse but to accept whatever they chose to do. Thus is the standard methodology of the Democrat Party.

Republicans in Congress have now told Barry "Almighty" and Democrats that they won’t agree to raise the government’s debt limit unless specific spending cuts are identified and followed through on. To me, that sounds like a very reasonable rationale on which to base things made by very reasonable people. Responding in a letter to congressional leaders, Treasury Secretary Timmy "The Tax Cheat" Geithner said the $14.29 trillion debt limit may be reached as soon as March 31 and “most likely” by May 16. Therefore once again working to create the perception and laying the groundwork that can then be used to justify their claim of yet another crisis situation in need of being urgently addressed. Everything that this current administration wishes to accomplish is always based on the premise that whatever action they deem as being necessary must be taken and taken now in order to avert some mythical crisis. And it's all nothing more than a bunch of crap. Chicago style politics in alive and well and emanating from an Oval Office that rivals that of Nixon in the way it chooses to utilize every manner of threat or innuendo. Most of these slimy Democrats would sell out their own mother if they thought that it would result in any sort of political. A more sick and twisted bunch I doubt you'll never see. And when you've got someone the caliber of Barry leading the pack, well then, there no guessing to how far things are liable to disintegrate or how quickly. The current wide range of attacks on our country currently underway from within poses a danger equal to or greater than anything we currently face from outside our borders. With each passing day we face the very real risk of being forced to face some pretty dire consequences in the very near term. All you have to do is look around you, or make one trip to your local grocery store or gas station. There is no rationale whatsoever to what the Democrats are busy trying to do unless, of course, you consider the fact that they truly are trying to bring about the collapse, financially, economically and internationally, of this country. You don't even have to be all that observant to see what they trying to do, just have more brains than your standard ice cube. That's where the real problem comes into play, the fact that far too many Americans don't have the brains of your common ice cube. Therefore, they will, more often that not, believe whatever it is that either the Democrats or the media tells them. Geez, how sad is that?


"Chuckie" Schumer has said, and quite emphatically, that both parties will “have to come together on spending,” going so far as to make the nonsensical statement that Democrats “agree there ought to be spending cuts.” Yeh right, if there are two things that do not go together, it’s Democrats and spending cuts. How this jerk's tune has suddenly changed. I'm constantly finding myself wondering exactly why it is that this clown is someone that anyone really needs to be listening to, anyway. Back when the Democrats had their super majority going for them, and were busy shoving through everything they could, "Chuckie" didn't give a squat about whether "both" parties were involved or not in working "together" on anything. "Chuckie" said he is “glad” that Republican House Speaker John Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor have said they won’t use the debt ceiling as a threat. AND WHY THE HELL NOT? You know darn well that if he was presented with the very same opportunity, good old "Chuckie" certainly would use it a threat. He's such a f**king hypocrite! There's nothing that pathetic old scumbag Democrats like "Chuckie" enjoy better than the making of threats! These bellicose buffoons live to make threats! They are used to pushing the substantial weight around and using their many media assets to intimidate, working as best they can in order to get those all those who oppose their efforts to back down. That's why we are where we are. Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey, when asked if his fellow Republicans in Congress should oppose raising the federal debt ceiling, said they “should have the guts to put up or shut up.” Republicans should “go out to the public and make your case,” he said on “Fox News Sunday.” Bravo to Governor Christie. The more I hear this, the more I like him!! The American people must be made to understand just how bad the mess is that we are in. Also they need to comprehend that it is guys like "Chucky" who are at fault for getting us here. This spot has got to be where we as Americans finally draw that last line in the sand and say very loudly and very clearly, this far and no further. It's time to CUT, CUT AND CUT SOME MORE. This spending binge that we are on is nothing but crazy and needs to reined in. We need to bring an end to this out of control entitlement mentality that has managed to spread assisted by greedy political hacks and begin the hard work of getting our fiscal house back in order. And our voices are going to need to be very loud and our players determined in their efforts because they are going to be outnumbered by the many voices coming from the Democrats, the state controlled media, the Unions, and God knows where else.


However, Governor Christie did stop short of saying that he is in favor or blocking an increase in the debt limit. He said in New Jersey he stood firm and yet avoided a state government shutdown “because I was clear” about bringing spending under control. That is exactly what is going to be required of the Republicans in Congress if they are to have any hope of yanking control of the argument from the Democrats and their many enablers in the state controlled media. Former Governor Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota, a possible Republican presidential candidate next year, said on “Fox News Sunday” that he opposes raising the debt ceiling and Republicans should “be willing to stand up and say ‘we’re not doing that anymore.’” He proposed to “sequence the spending” by the federal government to avoid a U.S. debt default. Senator Tom Coburn, an Oklahoma Republican, said on “Meet the Press” that failing to increase the debt ceiling would be “nothing compared with what’s going to happen to us if we don’t address the real issues facing our country” and work on spending cuts. The making of these arguments is a good starting point, but they are going to need to be made louder, more forcefully, as well as more often, until the American people, or at least enough of them, actually get it. The fact is that the Democrats have been playing fast and loose with taxpayer money for sometime, and it is passed time to bring some sort of accountability to this very broken system. Democrats are a unique breed. They are morally deficient, they have no positive character traits whatsoever, and they are of the opinion that they should never be held accountable for any of their highly destructive actions. Which are never anything short of reckless and irresponsible. The feel that they should be judged solely on the intent of their actions not on any of the adverse consequences their actions may bring about. No matter how dire the unintended consequences may be, they can never be judged as actually being the fault of Democrat policies. They live for one purpose and one purpose only, to advance their own power and agenda through the ever expanding size of government. They have an ulterior motive as they work drag our country further and further into what equates to an economic abyss. Their specific goal here is to get as many people as possible totally dependent upon the government.


With the House, now with a Republican majority, set to consider legislation to repeal the disastrous and bogus health-care overhaul enacted by a Democratic-controlled Congress, Senator Coburn said, “We’re not through the debate on health care in this country.” As we all very painfully remember, the Democrats, through what was nothing short of an act of pure legislative malpractice, shoved through the health-care law in March using all manner of sleazy tactic for no other reason than it is the centerpiece of Barry’s domestic agenda. The $940 billion plan, which passed with no Republican support, was claimed to result in providing coverage for 32 million uninsured Americans. Which it has now been shown to just one in a long list of false claims made about the supposed "reform.". Seventy percent of the American people now want this horrific piece of legislation altered or done away with in its entirety. The lies that were perpetrated by the Democrats in the effort to bamboozle the American people were on the same scale as those now being told by same group of crooks regarding our present debt problem. House Republicans, very unwisely I would argue, delayed a planned vote on health care last week after the Arizona shooting rampage that killed six people and critically injured Democratic U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords. The last time I checked the vote is now scheduled to take place tomorrow, January 19. While House Republicans have enough votes to pass a repeal, the Democrats, who remain in control of the Senate, have stated that they will block any attempt at repeal there. "Chuckie" said there are changes to the bill that both parties can work on together, such as the repeal of a provision requiring businesses to report annual expenses to individual vendors in excess of $600. That mandate, known as the 1099 rule after an Internal Revenue Service form used by businesses, “puts too big a burden on small business,” he said. But what honestly needs to take place here and what a vast majority of Americans want to see, is a complete repeal of this blatant attempt by the government to seize control of our ability to obtain healthcare. It does nothing of what was promised by its supporters while costing far more than they claimed. It is based on nothing but lies on top of even more lies.


The level of shameless hypocrisy that is constantly on display by frauds like our buddy "Chuckie" would be very loudly trumpeted in all manner available by our pathetic state controlled media if it were exhibited by anyone other than a Democrat politician. Say, any Republican or advocate of the conservative philosophy. The level of deception and outright dishonestly now being practiced by those of the Democrat Party has, I think it very safe to say, now reached epidemic proportions and a point where it now threatens the very survival of this country. These rabid ideologues and their many supporters have no difficulty whatsoever with looking the American people dead in the eye and lying to them. There is no real sense any longer that our government is one that abides by the will of the people, instead it is viewed as something that has morphed over time having now become a tool to be used, and to be driven by, the political elite in this country. The will of the people has come to matter very little, if at all, to any of those now in power. Especially, our president. And the responsibility for that having occurred, my friends, can be laid directly at the feet of the people! The more power we entrust to slugs like Schumer, the farther, and the faster, we will move away from what was intended for us by the Founders. We have already willingly ceded far too many of our freedoms to "the government," and what is it that we have gotten in return. Many would call it "soft oppression." But soft or otherwise, oppression is oppression no matter how you choose to slice it and it is not what was envisioned for us on that fateful day in September, 1787.

RABID DEMOCRATS ARE POSITIVELY FOAMING AT THE MOUTH

The level of hypocrisy that currently exists on the left in this country has made itself all the more obvious since the terrible shooting in Arizona, where six people lost their lives and Rep. Giffords was very seriously injured. Two of the individuals of questionable motives in this continuing onslaught arising from those on the left, is that not so well known dynamic duo from MSNBC, those retarded twins who were separated at birth, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews. Of course though, let us not forget that other loudmouthed buffoon of very questionable intellect, that absolute moron Rep. James "I'm too stupid for a "real" leadership position" Clyburn. Still, try as they might, it would seem, at least for now, that more than half of Americans remain just a little too smart to take the bait. Most reject the whole idea that inflammatory political language from conservatives is what was even partly to blame for the Arizona shooting rampage that took place on Saturday. That according to a new USA Today/Gallup Poll. The poll showed that just 35 percent believe inflammatory rhetoric was responsible for the tragedy, most likely all Democrats, while 53 percent said that it wasn't. When asked whether stricter gun-control laws in Arizona would have prevented the shooting, only 20 percent said it would, again most likely all Democrats, while 72 percent said tighter controls would not have prevented it. A similar CBS News Poll showed a slightly larger majority of Americans (57 percent) believe politics had nothing to do with the shooting by the alleged gunman responsible for the attack, including 49 percent who said they were Democrats. Only 42 percent of Democrats surveyed believe the shootings were a political act, while 33 percent of independents said it may have contributed to the shooting. The Gallup poll also showed 42 percent of Americans believe the attacker acted on political beliefs, while 22 percent cited politics as a minor factor. Only 20 percent said the heated language used in politics today was a major factor in the shootings.



But as we have seen on any number of previous occasions over the course of the last 24 months, Democrats and their media accomplices don't really care one way or the other what the American people may think about anything. So polls or no polls, even before the applause for Barry's little magical mystery charade regarding a need for an increased level of civility had faded in Tucson, any number of leading figures on the left appeared to be enthusiastically dusting off plans for their next attempt to "use" this most recent tragedy as a way to make yet another push for reinstatement of the "Fairness Doctrine" in their continuing efforts to muzzle talk radio. “Free speech is as free speech does,” Rep. Jim "The Tea Party is Racist" Clyburn, D-S.C., declared the day after the shooting. “You cannot yell ‘fire’ in a crowded theater and call it free speech. And some of what I hear, and is being called free speech, is worse than that.” Ya know, if brains were dynamite this guy wouldn't even be able to blow his nose. It's no wonder he's thought of by many his colleagues as being too stupid to hold any position of "real" leadership in the Democrat caucus. I guess in this case being black isn't an automatic qualifier. And then there is this other clown, Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-N.Y., who doesn't seem to be much brighter than her buddy Clyburn. She expressed similar sentiments, complaining that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) simply is “not working anymore. What I’d like to see is if we could all get together on both sides of the aisle, Democrats and Republicans, and really talk about what we can do to cool down the country,” Slaughter told TheHill.com. “Part of that has to be what they’re hearing over the airwaves.” And then we have yet another Democrat lawmaker, Rep. Robert Brady, D-Pa., who said after the killings in Tucson that he would introduce legislation to make it a crime to threaten or encourage violence against any federal official. Doing so, some may argue, would effectively create a political class that would enjoy special protections from the First Amendment liberties of others. This corrupt class of individuals already sees themselves as being above criticism from we the people. They view themselves as being our society's elites and thus as being much smarter than we who comprise the stupid and unwashed masses. It is only they who know what is best for us because we simply don't know what's good for us, so we need then to tell us. What is it that has these Democrats so determined in their efforts to keep the American people as much in the dark as possible regarding the sinister plans they have in mind for our country. These are truly frightening times, my friends, when you have so many individuals who reside in the same political party so determined to squelch free speech along with all manner of dissent.


The bottom line here is that we simply cannot allow and out of control, even rabid, Democrat Party to sacrifice free speech at their alter of political correctness. And make no mistake, that is absolutely what is underway here. It is the sole intent of Barry and his many minions to "use" this tragedy and any others like it for no other reason that to work toward an outright gutting of the Second Amendment. The only thing that the Democrats view this tragic event as being, is nothing more than another opportunity to be seized upon and used to the fullest in advancing their political agenda. There is no sorrow for the families of those who have lost loved ones. Hell, if we're being honest, for the Democrats I doubt very much if there is all that much genuine sorrow for Rep. Giffords. If for any reason she was to not fully recover, she would then be considered by her fellow Democrats as being nothing more than a casualty that could then be used for the advancement of the "progressive" cause. This is viewed by the Democrats as being nothing more than just another "crisis" not to be allowed to go to waste, and at the same time, as being a golden opportunity for them to further their blind ambition by once more attempting to silence any and all dissent. And now adding to the growing concern that many in Washington want to use this shooting rampage to do just that, to elevate civility and political correctness above freedom of speech, we have Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chaffee's announcement that he will boycott talk-radio appearances. Not only that, but he ha also initially banned all state employees from commenting to talk-radio hosts, Chaffee, apparently a Democrat wanna be, castigated talk radio as “more entertainment than journalism” and blamed it for the nation’s caustic partisan squabbles over politics. What an idiotic judgment to make, and so obviously baseless. With all the hate filled vitriol that literally pours 24/7 from the left through any number of venues, to make the claim that it is the right that must be made to bare the responsibility for this event having been allowed to occur goes beyond being imbecilic. To show just how stupid this guy Chaffee is, apparently he was forced to lighten up just a bit on his rhetoric regarding his directive on Tuesday, after it was pointed out to this dimwit that his order would prevent emergency-response officials and police from advising the public what they should do during weather situations, traffic blockages, and other circumstances. Stupid is as stupid does, as they say.


The reaction from those on the right to efforts made to establish some linkage between an act committed by an obviously mentally unstable 22-year-old, and an individual who apparently had a longstanding grudge against Rep. Gabrielle Giffords since 2007, as well as the ongoing efforts by the left to return political dialogue to the pre-Ronald Reagan days of network communications hegemony, triggered a predictable and immediate reaction. “What are we seeing again after this week in the shooting?” Fox News host Glenn Beck said Wednesday evening on his program. “We’re seeing them solve problems? No they’re not. They’re offering solutions to things that aren’t a problem. You know, we had the Fairness Doctrine on talk radio. We had the Fairness Doctrine. It was in the 1950s and '60s and '70s. And while we had the Fairness Doctrine, we lost JFK, MLK, RFK. We had Reagan shot. We had Ford shot at twice. The Fairness Doctrine did not seem to reduce violence. Why, I wonder? That’s not going to work.” It's not going to work because the purpose behind this drive by the Democrats to have the discussion regarding important issues to be completely one sided. They cannot openly justify or advocate any of the things that they wish to impose upon the rest of us. Top radio talker Rush Limbaugh, meanwhile, reported on his show that activist Al "Bull Horn" Sharpton visited with FCC officials in the aftermath of the incident to pressure the agency to rein in free expression on the airwaves. “What I see is the Democrat Party, its representatives and its supporters on the American left, attempting to take a genuine human tragedy, and their first instinct is to politicize it, and that desire, their political desire, is to silence, to quiet people who they consider their opposition,” Limbaugh told listeners. "If that is not attempting to profit off murder, I don't know what it is.” This is want the Democrat Party is all about, the end always justifies the means. No matter what! It's a very strange mindset that is held by those who comprise Democrats. They are a large, albeit unique, clique, and there's really no one else quite like them.


Most analysts believe there is little chance the FCC, currently headed up by a Barry college chum, which recently voted to impose a modified version of the Net Neutrality regulation against the wishes of its Republican minority, could actually succeed in restoring the Fairness Doctrine. Conservatives maintain that the doctrine historically stifled free speech by requiring constant rebuttals from those with differing views — any attempt to reinstate it would draw an immediate legal challenge in the courts. But with the liberal makeup of our present judiciary, is the fear that such an attempt would be upheld, not warranted. Boston University Communications professor Tobe Berkovitz told Newsmax there is “absolutely not” any reason to link the Tucson rampage to a reconsideration of the merits of the Fairness Doctrine. The effort to impose “fairness” on broadcast media, he points out, was based on the scarcity of frequency options available in the age of pre-digital media. Moreover, media content regulation traditionally has relied on the impact on “the average” viewer or listener, which clearly would not apply to the Tucson suspect, he says. “All regulation was based on this concept of spectrum scarcity and limited resources,” Berkovitz explains. “In today’s communications marketplace, in fact there’s more scarcity in print than there is over the electronic spectrum, whether it’s the number of cable television channels we have, the almost limited number of web sites and blogs, the FM spectrum, streaming audio. So the whole reason for the Fairness Doctrine has evaporated, regardless of your politics and whether you think the content is good or bad.” But as we all know, or should now, the rationale laid out by Prof. Berkovitz, is not the rationale of the Democrats who wish to revive the Fairness Doctrine. Today it's purely political.


The efforts of most Democrats and many members of the state controlled media to do their best to manipulate the heartbreaking events in Tucson, at least appear on the surface to be in direct opposition to the tenor of Barry’s disgustingly transparent remarks Tuesday, which though while emotionally lacking, still won widespread approval from both sides of the aisle. “If this tragedy prompts reflection and debate, as it should, let’s make sure it’s worthy of those we have lost,” Barry said. “Let’s make sure it’s not on the usual plane of politics and point scoring and pettiness that drifts away with the next news cycle.” Such a statement is more than a little ironic, since here we have a guy in the person of Barry, who has, quite literally, made a career out of doing exactly what's on the usual plane of rather dirty Chicago thug-style politics. This is nothing more than another very clear example of Barry's usual practice of deception. What he's saying is for us to all watch his right hand so we won't see what his left hand is doing. Ya know, this whole exercise by Barry comes across as being completely devoid of any sincerity. His little speech was nothing more than the reading of empty words from his teleprompter by a soulless man all in an effort creating a false impression of a sorrow that simply does not exist. In fact, I would not be at all surprised to hear that he actually cheered upon hearing the news of this tragedy, seeing as a way to strip the right to own a gun from a Constitution that he sees as being a hindrance to his "progressive" agenda. He comes out to supposedly call for civility, while behind the scenes his underlings in concert, with a cadre of likeminded fellow travelers, work feverishly to move this country ever closer to Barry desired state of complete tyranny. Conservatives are right to worry that while the Barry works to present his party’s more genteel face to the public, others in his party and administration are busily seeking ways to shackle the GOP agenda of neutralizing the progress that has been made in the big-government agenda that has taken place over the course of the past two years.


In an action that clearly demonstrates the hypocrisy that is present here, in the run-up to the president’s address, the Democrats had already dispatched any number of unidentified sources, or conspirators, out into the media whose purpose it was to launch not one but two new avenues of political attack against conservatives. First these determined zealots rather strenuously objected to Sarah Palin’s use of the phrase “blood libel,” traditionally a term connected with persecution of Jews, as being culturally insensitive and anti-Semitic. However, countering that "opinion'" is no less an authority on the matter than Harvard law professor and author Alan "OJ was innocent" Dershowitz who has said that there was nothing wrong with Palin’s remark. As well, no less a cultural icon than Rev. Franklin Graham has termed the blatant attempt to pin the blame for the shooting on Palin “outrageous.” Then a second round of anonymous leaks were intended to imply that House Speaker John Boehner had displayed a rather coldhearted indifference to the Tucson tragedy by declining the Barry’s kind invitation to ride along on Air Force One and attend the event. As Boehner’s allies were quick to explain, the invitation made by the White House was far from one that was intended to display any level of political unity regarding this terrible tragedy, and was given merely for the sake of decorum. White House officials knew well before hand that Boehner had prior commitments that made leaving Washington difficult if not impossible. On the House floor Tuesday Boehner delivered a teary-eyed memorial for the victims and their families. Later that evening he hosted a reception for the members of the Republican National Committee, which is preparing to select a chairman.


So despite the high hopes of those on the left that the continuing barrage of lies being generated and the overwhelming amount "news" coverage, adverse, otherwise, and ad nauseum of the tragedy in Arizona, would somehow translate into they're being able convince enough Americans that it is those evil conservatives who are to blame for this atrocity, such is not the case. But make no mistake, they will not be relenting in there efforts any time soon. The motives behind the Democrats creating this whole circus like atmosphere were based on two very specific as well as very dark purposes. First to distract and delay changes that the Republicans have in mind for the Barry agenda. Second to foment as much hate and discontent toward those who wish nothing more than to keep the American people informed regarding what it is that a corrupt and out of control Democrat Party is working so hard to perpetrate against them. This whole scenario has served to only end up doing far more harm than good on any number of levels. Problems, most of which that have been created by the current out of control, and patently anti-American administration. We cannot afford to lose sight of the important fact that there is a vast array of issues that are in desperate need of urgent attention. And the more we allow ourselves to be distracted by the perpetrators of deceit, the farther we get behind in our ability to go about creating possible solutions for the problems that are now very slowly killing us. There is much undoing that now needs to be done and only a very finite amount of time left in which to do so. That's why the attempts at implementing stalling tactics have now been escalated. First and foremost should be ridding ourselves of the albatross that has been placed tightly around our collective neck in the form of Obamacare. As House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, has attempted to make clear, supposed estimates of cost savings Congressional Budget Office should be considered as being highly suspect as well as seen as being “their opinion.” Meanwhile, Rep. Anthony "Oscar Mayer" Weiner, D-N.Y., who I'd be willing to bet that he got beat up for his lunch money, asserted that repealing the measure would cost the government $1.2 trillion. This problem is going to need to be rectified, and quickly.


The Wall Street Journal’s Daniel Henninger summed thing up rather nicely, I think, on Thursday regarding whether Barry’s call for a less vitriolic rhetoric will bear fruit. “The divide between this strain of the American left and its conservative opponents is about more than politics and policy,” he wrote. “It goes back a long way, it is deep, and it will never be bridged.”

WHAT CAN WE NOW HOPE TO SEE FROM THE 112TH?

I, along with what I think is most likely a majority of my fellow Americans, will now have some very specific expectations for the new Republican controlled House as well as for those new members coming into the Senate. Expectations that we see as being nothing short of vital to the survival of our country. Expectations that must be met, or else. The "or else" being, that if they can't manage to get the job done, keeping promises made, then we'll go out and hire someone who can in 2 years. Besides doing everything humanly possible in their efforts to “KILL” Obamacare, they will also need to work to stymie anything and everything having to do with this very dangerous notion of “Net Neutrality” and to permanently lay to rest the whole concept of the “Fairness Doctrine.” In that same vein, there is a desperate need to reel in an obviously out of control FCC, which by the way is currently headed up by none other than an old college buddy, and fellow traveler, of Barry's. And another area that will need to be urgently addressed is the price of gas which is once again averaging over three dollars a gallon. Republicans must work toward forcing Barry and his environmental wacko administration into the direction of a creating a much more responsible energy program. What is needed in this country is a much less restrictive drilling policy which is far from being a priority of Barry's. He wants to limit as much as possible any drilling, anywhere. We can't drill off shore, we can't drill on government land, we can't drill in the frozen wasteland that is the Alaska National Wildlife Reserve (ANWR), we can't, we can't, we can't. "Drill, baby drill," now needs to be the mantra of the Republican Party. This is not rocket science, it's quite simple really. What's needed, is for us to drill here and drill now! DUH! What sense does it make to anyone that we have countries like Communist China, Russia and even India drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, and yet we do not allow American companies to be drilling there? I'll tell you how much sense it makes, NONE! And how may jobs in the state of Louisiana been lost because of Barry "Almighty?" The basis for the whole concept of Barry's anti-oil agenda is nothing more than a blatant attempt to convince the American of the evil of oil and to buy into his idiotic pipedream regarding the need for more "green" technology.

But scarier still is the fervor with which Barry insists upon pursuing, and with nearly a maniacal enthusiasm, the radical perpetuation of the repeatedly proven falsehood that is manmade global warming/climate change. This whole theory has been proven to be nothing more than a myth, which most rational individuals view as being a unique form of insanity. What it is in reality is the "New Left's" method of choice for destroying Capitalism. Because we should all be very aware that as Barry "Almighty's" administration enters 2011, it will be pressing full speed ahead with a renewed vigor regarding the enacting new and more stringent regulations all under the banner of fighting climate change. On the positive side, the hopes of those environmentalists' who support such nonsense were dashed, at least to some degree, here at home, where the proposal to create a first nationwide "cap-and-trade" plan thankfully died in the Senate. However, our buddy Barry, never one to be deterred in his efforts to further savage our economy and his team of malcontents and miscreants will nonetheless be seeking ever more creative ways to take action on their own. Starting January 2, began with their considering greenhouse gases when approving emission levels for large new industrial plants. The federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced on December 23 that it would go a step further starting in 2012 by setting greenhouse gas standards for power plants and petroleum refineries. It is these facilities which together account for nearly 40 percent of the emissions blamed for climate change. Hopefully, the Republicans will rise to the occasion to where Barry can expect a growing hostility to his climate agenda now that the 112th Congress has officially gotten underway. Hopefully we will now have what amounts to a true opposition party as a result of the November election. Rep. Fred Upton of Michigan, who, I must admit, I am not a big fan of, the Republican who will head the new House Energy and Commerce Committee, said the United States should be "working to bring more power online, not shutting plants down" to protect jobs. "We will not allow the administration to regulate what they have been unable to legislate," Upton said. Referencing the December 23 EPA announcement, "This Christmas surprise is nothing short of a back-door attempt to implement their failed job-killing cap-and-trade scheme.”


Barry's administration disagrees with current criticism, as it continues to insist that what it is doing is nothing more than to set standards, such as favoring green technology, and not imposing numeric caps on emissions as envisioned under most cap-and-trade proposals. The Barry "O" team and their wacko environmentalist allies continue to make the idiotic argument that a shift to green energy would create, not reduce, jobs by opening up a whole new area of growth in the troubled economy. Their whole plan is based on nothing but smoke and mirrors and, as with the passage his healthcare reform, when it comes to Barry working to advance his agenda, what's a few lies if, in the end, it's for our own good. They insist on sticking to their blatant lies, stubbornly making the claim that the world's temperature has been steadily rising and many scientists point to rising disasters — including devastating floods in Pakistan and, counter intuitively, intense blizzards — as evidence of climate change. Blah, Blah, Blah. I mean here we are just beginning the coldest January on record, and we're supposed to believe these crazies when the tell us it's caused by global warming? Look these clowns, including Barry, who are advocating such nonsense have absolutely zero credibility on any issue of substance, so why should we believe their cockamamie theories based on bad science? They have an ulterior motive that is so easy to see through. But the fact remains that the Democrats narrowly retained control of the Senate and our old buddy Barry, unfortunately, remains president, meaning he can fight any legislative efforts to weaken regulation on climate change. But several Republicans have vowed to fight a key U.S. promise in international negotiations — to contribute to poor countries seen as suffering the worst effects of climate change. The questions that remains is, will the Republicans go squishy?


The Cancun conference set up a Green Climate Fund, to which the European Union, Japan, and the United States have led pledges of $100 Billion dollars a year starting in 2020. Yes, that's billion with a "B." And just where is all of this additional money supposed to come from to pay for this crisis that doesn't even exist in the first place. Bracing for concerns about accountability, Barry's administration fought successfully in Cancun to put the World Bank in charge of the Green Climate Fund. Todd Stern, the chief U.S. climate negotiator, said the financial pledges were "extremely important" and "a core part of the deal." "Obviously, the fiscal situation is exceedingly tough in the U.S. It's tough in Europe and other places as well. And we are going to have to do the best we possibly can to carry out" the promises, Stern said. Exceedingly tough? Now isn't that quite the understatement? And just what the Hell is a "climate negotiator?" If anyone knows, can you please clue me in, because I have no freakin idea. Ya know, it just seems that with each passing day of this f**ked up administration this country goes just a little further down the proverbial tubes. As part of some future climate deal, the United States has pressed for fast-growing emerging nations such as China to agree to binding and verifiable action on climate change. India surprised many other countries in Cancun when it said it would consider a future binding deal. China has reiterated its opposition but promised to show flexibility. Despite the shift in Washington, California approved its own version of a cap-and-trade system after voters rightfully rejected a referendum to suspend air pollution control laws. By contrast, oil-producing Texas, has refused to abide by federal guidelines on emissions, leading the Barry "Almighty" administration to take over its permit system. That'll show them by God! The absolute arrogance of our current president is nothing short of amazing.


In spite of the wishful thinking of many on the Republican side of the aisle, that being that they expect Barry to begin to move toward the center, many conservatives outside of the party, especially those outside the beltway, continue to say louder and much more often, that that whole notion is nothing if not foolhardy and is something that is just not going to happen. No way, Jose. They're saying that the making of such a move is simply not Barry's DNA and every indicator would say that they are correct in their assumption. For him to do so would be tantamount to declaring that his policies not only have not worked, but will not work. And will never be something that he is willing to admit. He is determined to implement his ideas no matter what level of damage is inflected upon our country. Barry is not seen to be willing to take a cue from "BJ" Clinton and begin moving toward the center even after suffering a resounding Congressional defeat centered around an obvious repudiation of the very policies he is to determined to enact. Even after what were seen by many as being huge Republican gains in the midterm elections. And anyone with an ounce of brain power can also see that "Dingy Harry," who remains the Senate Majority Leader, “has blinders on” when it come to respecting the wishes of a majority of Americans. So is calling the Tea Party movement the “conscience” of congressional Republicans. When asked what Republicans’ priorities should be in the next session of Congress now that they have assumed control in the House and seen their numbers grow in the Senate, I would expect their priorities should be the exact same as those of the American people. That would seem to me to be the best rule of thumb to follow. Because I'll tell ya what, if the people get back to where they feel that they are being ignored, or that their opinion doesn't matter, what we'll see in November 2012 is a replay of what we just saw in November 2010.


Number one among the most urgent priorities, as stated earlier, is, REPEAL! REPEAL!! REPEAL!!! of the very bogus healthcare/insurance reform so affectionately referred to as, "Obamacare." It calls for the Republicans to at least make the attempt at passing a bill to repeal the healthcare law. Now I know, and you do too, that our buddy Barry will veto it and in all likelihood, the Senate probably won't even pass it, so it ends up as being largely a symbolic gesture. But still, it's an action that the Republicans "need" to take. In addition they are going to have to be willing to go after the healthcare bill by trying to take away the appropriations and by changing regulations. That is priority number one. Or, as they used to say at Ford, it needs to be considered as being Job 1 of the 112th Congress. As much as Barry and his cadre of leftists like to proclaim the benefits of this blatant seizure of our entire healthcare system, it was something that was literally forced down the throats of the American people. The entire premise of how much it was to cost and the benefits it was supposed to provide was based on nothing more than any number of outright lies by Barry himself. The people have spoken and continue to speak out very loudly and very clearly against this blatant seizing control, by the government, of something that is inherently personal. Every opportunity must now be seized to stop this so-called reform dead in its tracks, and as soon as possible. There is nothing about this supposed reform that accomplishes its stated goal of reducing costs. The only thing that is accomplished is the allowing of some governmental bureaucrat authority to dictate what kind of healthcare Americans are entitled to based on nothing more than is it worth the cost to provide it to them. And as we recently were made aware of, the death panels are very much alive and well. So watch out Seniors, Barry is coming for you! That is unless of course this monstrosity can be derailed.


Number two on our little hit parade is that the Republicans going to need to be coming up with ways to reduce spending and to make sure that previously mentioned "Cap and Trade" legislation never becomes a reality. They’ll need to be coming up with proposals every week, and other measures to try to create more jobs, including getting rid of regulations, creating more certainty. That would be the beginning of the new Congress.” They should be very well aware up front of the media onslaught that is inevitable once cuts begin to be made. They must be armed and ready to refute any and all accusations that will be headed their way. I think that it goes very much without say that the current well entrenched GOP leadership will be more than a little apprehensive about the new freshman class on arriving in Congress, including Senators Marco Rubio and Rand Paul. It has been said of our stellar leadership team that, “They certainly are looking over their shoulders at those more conservative new members, as well as tea party members.” And so it should be. I am far from being any kind of a fan of Mitch McConnell. But hey, who knows, maybe old Mitch will, in the end, surprise us all and choose to start making it a bit more difficult for "Dingy Harry" to advance his blatantly leftist agenda. But it will not be an easy task as both "Dingy Harry" and "Botox Nancy" have no regard for the wishes of the American people overall. We can only hope that these two will go the way of the dinosaurs. It has been said by someone who should know, “I think he’s so out of touch with the American people, as we saw with him expressing support for Michael Vick, whose major claim to fame is that he derived pleasure from the killing of innocent animals. That is the real Obama, and you’re going to see that continue for the rest of his term.”


Number three on our proverbial "To Do" list has to do with slamming the brakes on the damage that is being done to our National Defense and what rightfully needs to be called the "War On Terror" not some "Oversea Contingency Operation." This clown Robert Gates, who Bush chose to replace Donald Rumsfeld with, is nothing more than just another incompetent and dysfunctional bureaucrat who has spent entirely too much time in government service and a Barry yes man. He seems to be far too willing of an accomplice is assisting Barry to meet his objective of gutting our military and to weaken our National Defense. Barry seems to have a rather distasteful knack of showing much more sympathy toward the terrorists that he does for their victims. While on one hand I suppose it can be said that Barry is doing an adequate job in killing terrorists with predators, but in his equivocating about Gitmo, his letting war detainees out — and 25 percent of them return to terrorism — his policy of prosecuting former CIA people who were just doing interrogations that were approved by the Justice Department, all this undercuts morale and creates the perception that Obama is not really serious about pursuing the war on terror. Following the obvious blunder that allowed the acquittal of Guantanamo Bay detainee Ahmed Ghailani on most charges in a civilian court, Barry will, we can only hope, likely give up on trying terror suspects in civilian courts and instead will either detain them indefinitely at Gitmo, or eventually try them in military courts. And as much as he would like to, and as much as he has promised to do so it is not very likely that Barry will ever close Gitmo because there’s simply no way to do it. But who knows, I've been wrong before regarding what I thought Barry would and would not do in any given situation.


I have a feeling that we'll know in pretty short order in which direction the new 112th Congress will be going. We'll begin to see if the actions of those newly elected reflect the rhetoric we've been hearing and the promises made throughout the most recent campaign, or if it was all nothing more than empty talk used just to get elected. Will it be more business as usual or will they actually set about making the tough decisions that are truly needed? There is too much hanging in the balance for them to not now carry through with the many promises made. The agenda will not be an easy one to fulfill, and those trying to turn back the fiscal clock will be on the receiving end of and endless and savage onslaught by Democrats and their many allies in the state run media conglomerate. Courage, strength of will and a high level of resolve are going to be what's needed from here on out of we are to meet with any level of success. We will very shortly see who has the necessary character and is willing to put the country above themselves. And I am not saying that everything needs to be done in the next two years. Having said that, what needs to be seen is that those recently elected have been listening to the American people and are working to do what it is that the people want done. So, I guess at the end of the day, we shall see what we shall see.

MIGHT WE FINALLY SEE A LITTLE OVERSIGHT TAKING PLACE? WE CAN ONLY HOPE...

THE NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN

Barry "Almighty" and his merry little band of Democrats are about to come in contact with a House Republican leadership that has some rather sweeping plans in mind regarding the initiating of some much needed congressional investigations into a very wide range of issues. Essentially Democrats have been permitted to go completely unchecked, feeling free to do pretty much whatever they felt like doing, the American people be damned. So now after facing very little oversight, if any, of their blatantly corrupt behavior, the Barry "Almighty" administration is about to find out that there is now a new sheriff in town. And his name is Rep. Darrell Issa, Republican from California. Rep. Issa will become chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in the 112th Congress. And what he plans on doing in the first three months of this year to lead no less that six major investigations into what has transpired over the course of the last 24 months. "I've always been fond of the saying that when it comes to oversight and reform, the federal government does two things well: nothing and overreact," Issa told reporters Monday. "Too often, a problem is allowed to fester until it reaches a crisis point, and the American people are left asking the question: What went wrong and why?" Up until now there has been no one who thought it important enough, or who were concerned enough, to go in search of answers to some very important questions. Mr. Issa has also asked business groups which regulations to target that Barry has so enthusiastically put into place in his effort to do nothing more than to further stifle economic growth. He has sent a letter to 150-plus trade associations, private companies, and think tanks just this week. “As a trade organization comprised of members that must comply with the regulatory state, I ask for your assistance in identifying existing and proposed regulations that have negatively impacted job growth in your members’ industry,” the letter read. “Additionally, suggestions on reforming identified regulations and the rulemaking process would be appreciated.”



Mr. Issa is sure to be making more than a few waves, if for no other reason than because he’ll have subpoena power to compel officials to appear before his committee. Among the items on his hit list are the “Wikileaks’ release of classified diplomatic cables, where among the administration officials he’ll be wanting to question is national security adviser Tom Donilon. Mr. Issa specifically wants to know whether the administration has a strategy to stop the dissemination of sensitive information on sites such as WikiLeaks. Also on his "To Do" List are the recalls at the Food and Drug Administration, the role of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in the foreclosure crisis, the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission’s failure to identify the origins of the meltdown and finally alleged corruption in Afghanistan.” So far, the White House has not engaged Issa, either preferring to wait and see what he does once he becomes chairman rather than react to what he says he will do, or to simply ignore him. Now I suppose that Barry can always insist on fighting anything he sees as a potential infringement on his office and he does have an arsenal to do so at his disposal. Barry can invoke executive privilege to prevent Mr. Issa, and others from questioning certain administration individuals, and he also has a team of White House lawyers and communications gurus standing at the ready, who will coordinate any response needed. Regarding the legal aspect of any requested testimony, White House counsel Bob Bauer will play a lead role in devising the strategy there, with lawyers Kathy Ruemmler and Kimberley Harris taking charge of any response. You can bet that Barry will be far from being anywhere near cooperative in any endeavor designed to get to the bottom of what's been going on for 2 years. Let's face it, with as much corruption that has taken place in 24 short months, there is much Barry would love to keep firmly under wraps and far from the prying eyes of the American public. The White House also could also tap the expertise of congressional liaison Phil Schiliro, who once served as the top aide on the oversight committee under the ugliest guy in Congress, Rep. Henry Waxman, the California Democrat who busied himself launching endless investigations into the Bush administration.


But Rep. Issa is far from alone in his quest to search out corruption and to start putting in place some measure of accountability. There are going to be “other incoming Republican committee chairmen are planning investigations into the Justice Department’s civil rights division, the radicalization of Muslims in the United States, homeland security grant money, and air cargo and port and chemical plant security.” The incoming chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, Rep. Peter King, has said that he plans to investigate the extent to which American Muslims are cooperating with law enforcement authorities in an effort to measure the radicalization of the U.S. Muslim community. The New York Republican also plans to probe homeland security issues. "Different from Darrell Issa, I'm not expecting to find significant corruption in the departments," King told the Post. "To the extent there's disagreement, it will be philosophical disagreement and a question of leadership, whether or not the department is assertive enough." Then we have Rep. Lamar Smith, who will head of the House Judiciary Committee. Rep. Smith is planning investigations of the Justice Department, including allegations that the civil rights division is not enforcing voter rights laws fairly. Since Democrats control the Senate, the White House, and federal agencies, Republicans can use House oversight hearings to slow down policies and practices they disapprove of. And at least at the present time every indication is that they plan to do just that. "The ability to hold hearings is a tool to help shape public opinion, put pressure on the Senate and maybe allow you at the end of the day to get concessions from the administration," said former Republican congressman Vin Weber, a Washington lobbyist. But, Weber added: "Speaker Boehner is quietly insisting that the investigative process be focused on substantive matters and not become a political witch hunt.”


The new ranking Democrat on Mr. Issa's committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), will take over from Rep. Edolphus Towns (D-N.Y.), Edolphus must be an old family name, who had been chairman and enjoyed a close rapport with Issa but was seen as a weaker adversary to him than the more hard-charging Cummings. In typical fashion, however, Towns said in an interview that "Issa is concerned about his legacy, believe it or not. And he'd like to be able to do some things that will make a difference and people years and years from now will say this happened under his chairmanship." Cummings though is more skeptical. He said Issa appears to have drawn conclusions about some issues even though his investigations have not yet begun. For instance, Issa has long said he believed federal regulations inhibit job creation, but plans to hold "fact-finding" hearings on the matter. Cummings has taken issue with Issa's calling Barry's administration "one of the most corrupt administrations in a television interview. "Corruption basically says people are criminals, and I think that's a pretty strong statement having not one scintilla of evidence, having not heard one hearing or had one testimony," Cummings said in an interview. "I think that if we have concerns, then what we should do is in a bipartisan way bring witnesses before our committee, depose them and hear what they have to say, and then draw conclusions." Sorry, but I'm siding with Mr. Issa on this one because sometimes you just got to call them like you see them. And let's be real here, who among us can look at specific members of this administration, including Barry, and not see anything other than a bunch of crooks and thugs? Here we have a team of individuals who are willing to resort to whatever tactics they view as being necessary if it will allow them to achieve their desired goal. The end always, always justify the means.


There are potential pitfalls for Mr. Issa as well as the other Republican chairmen seeking to investigate the goings on of the present administration. During the late 1990s, House Republicans pursued inquiries that many considered political fishing expeditions, such as investigating whether "BJ" Clinton's adviser Vince Foster was murdered despite his death being reported as a suicide. This and other Republican-led Clinton-era investigations bore no substantial results, and backfired on the party rather badly, politically speaking. With some polls still showing Barry being far more personally popular than congressional Republican leaders, with it at the same time being a real mystery regarding how this scumbag could be more popular than anybody, Democrats warn that the public has little appetite for political persecutions. But Democrats, too, have been accused of overreaching. Some Republicans considered it more than merely frivolous when the Waxman-led committee investigated the steroids scandal in professional baseball in 2008. Award-winning pitcher Roger Clemens testified under oath that he had never used performance-enhancing drugs. Two years later, he was indicted on charges of lying in his testimony. Under both parties' control, the oversight committee has at times held hearings with little follow-up. In 2007 and 2008, Waxman's high-profile investigation of veterans charities found that some of them were misusing money they had raised under the pretense of helping care for troops. And yet, Congress passed no laws to change the charities' practices. "The big thing Issa's got to be thinking about is if you become the dog that barks and no one listens, you become irrelevant very quickly," said Dean Zerbe, a former senior oversight aide to Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa). "He needs to work with authorizing committees and leadership to tie in solutions with legislation or regulations.


Just to sum things up here, make no mistake, while I am very much in favor of holding politicians, whatever their political persuasion, accountable However, if they are not careful, Republicans do run the risk of creating a perception where they seem to be more concerned with revenge or reprisals than in bringing about some much needed oversight. So there is a very fine line here that has to be walked. There is not doubt that this administration needs to be held accountable, and that is something that has been sorely lacking over the course of the last two years. But having said that, Republicans need to careful not to shoot themselves in the foot. There has been a rapid expansion of government and massive amounts of money have been spent by the current administration with there being very little gained in return. They have, to a certain degree, been permitted to run somewhat amuck. There has to be some level of oversight present and up to this point there has been very little interest by the previous majority party to do so. Kurt Bardella, a spokesman for Mr. Issa, said the investigations will focus on the "institutionalized culture of waste, fraud and abuse" within the federal bureaucracy. "The enemy isn't the Democrats or the Republicans," Bardella said. "It's the bureaucracy that outlasts any one administration or political party." Still, such findings could have broad political reverberations for our buddy Barry as he prepares his 2012 reelection campaign. We can only hope!

SO, WE'RE NOW OFF AND RUNNING WITH THE 112TH CONGRESS

I think it very safe to say that a majority of us who reside well outside the lunacy of the beltway are of a far different mentality than the one possessed by a good many of those in government. I think most of us are of the opinion that the Republican Party has been handed a rather decisive mandate, by way of November's midterm elections. A mandate that allows them very little flexibility in choosing the direction in which they are now to go. They are now expected to do whatever is necessary to restore some level of sanity to what has become a government that is now wildly out of control. What seems to be very much in doubt, however, is whether the Republicans, at least those in the Senate, view the election results in the same way and will rise to the occasion and chose to take full advantage of it. That may very well prove to be the $14.3 Trillion question. One of the things that is always so distressing to me is the fact that far too often Republicans seem almost fearful of getting in there and mixing it up with corrupt Democrats who are trying to further extend the reach of the federal government. They seem to be far more concerned with being liked by those in the media, or whoever, and not concerned very little about doing whatever it is that's necessary in carrying out what's in the best interest of the people. Republicans need to develop more of a thick skin and a "screw the media" mentality, and soon. If they're going to insist on being as thin skinned as Barry, then I don't hold out much hope for them doing what's needed. There is nothing the Republicans can do, short of permanently assuming a prostrate position before Barry, that cause those in the media to view in a positive way. And the sooner the Republican realize that they should care more about what the American people think than what the roving nutjobs in the state run media conglomerate think, the better off we're all gonna be.

So it would appear that, at least based on recent a CNN/ORC poll which surveyed 1,008 Americans that was taken from December 17 to 19, is can be said that apparently the perception of a Republican's having a mandate has been somewhat bolstered. You see, because it was in that poll that a majority of Americans said that the GOP takeover of the House of Representatives is a good development. They also seem to like the Republican Party slightly more than they do Barry "Almighty", and far more than the Democrat Party. But as I said, it remains to be seen whether the Republicans will seize the moment by taking advantage of the present sentiment and at least attempt to undo some of the major damage that has been inflicted upon our country over the course of the last 2 years. Now what this poll also showed was the fact that while Barry "O" remains personally popular, an increasing number of Americans are dubious about his ability to lead, and many are pessimistic about his ability to realize his policies. The sad thing here is that anyone who is now so "dubious" about Barry's ability to lead certainly wasn't paying all that much attention throughout the entire 2008 presidential campaign. Here we had an individual with absolutely zero leadership experience who ran for and was then elected to a job that has as one if its most important requirements some level of leadership ability. Even many "Leftists" are now expressing at least some level of concern over the fact that Barry will abandon their views on Social Security in exchange for support from Republicans in Congress on raising the debt ceiling. The focus must be on the reducing of ridiculously out of control spending that has accomplished not one positive thing. Billions of dollars have been spent with absolutely nothing to show for it. To me that's waste, pure and simple. And still, if you listen to the Democrats, and Barry in particular, spending more remains the only answer. That is not leadership, no matter how you choose to define it. Leadership requires the making of the tough decisions, something Barry avoids like the plague.
However, there was one thing that came from this poll did kind of leave me scratching my head and it was the fact that it showed that most Americans actually seem to like divided government. Fifty-one percent of respondents said Republican control of the House will be good for the country which was virtually unchanged from the 52 percent who held that opinion immediately after the elections. Yet, I find myself wondering just how many of these morons were so easily convinced that providing complete control of the government to one party was such a good idea. And how many of these geniuses was it that voted to hand over complete control of the government to a corrupt political party and not only handover control but to do so in such a manner as to provide to that party massive majorities in both the House and Senate to boot. What exactly did these idiots think was going to happen? Ya know, it just doesn't take a rocket scientist to come to the conclusion that when you give people like "Dingy" Harry, "Botox" Nancy and Barry "Almighty" absolute power, bad things are going to happen, very bad things. More and more Americans just don't realize what it was that we were given by our Founding Fathers. And they now seem far too willing to give it all up for the price of a government check of almost any amount. It shows the level of ignorance possessed by far too many people regarding this country's history and of our Constitution. Far too many people have been far too convinced by a pathetical inept government controlled educational system and a state run media conglomerate guilty of committing a level of journalistic malpractice that can only be described as being on a massive scale. The spreading of lies has now become paramount to the necessity of simply keeping the people informed.


And when those that make up this rather stellar bunch of 1,008 Americans were asked whom they trust most on major issues of the day, 40 percent of respondents chose Republicans in Congress, compared to 35 percent for Barry and only 15 percent said Democrats in Congress. Perhaps even more troubling for Barry is the fact that 41 percent of self-described independents chose congressional Republicans, and only 31 percent chose Barry. Myself, I have always had questions about those who call themselves "Independents." I see them as being individuals afraid of commitment. Calling oneself an Independent is essentially nothing more than taking the cowards way out. They seem to think that they're so much smarter than the rest of us because they see themselves as being above partisan politics and no need for party affiliation. Most people I know who call themselves independents are much closer to being liberal Democrats than they resemble anyone possessing an independent form of political philosophy. They're gutless hypocrites, plain and simple. They hide behind their claims to care only about positions held on any issue and are not concerned with which particular party any specific candidate who supports such issues, belongs. That's nothing more than hogwash. They likely to see themselves as being above the fray, and much more intelligent and refined than the rest of us. For the most part they can be viewed as being responsible for us being in our current mess because most of them voted for this Socialist in the Oval Office. I would like to ask them how all "Hope and Change" working for them. Was it all really "Change they could believe in?" I'm just curious.


Still, as CNN pointed out, moderates, for whatever twisted reason, still favor Barry more than the GOP, a potentially worrisome point for candidates in 2012. Moderates will be a key swing vote in the next presidential election. Just what the Hell is a moderate, anyway? I see no difference between moderates and independents with both being pretty much the same as a bleeding heart liberal Democrat! Nothing more, nothing less. Among moderates, seventy-two percent of them said they hope Barry's policies will succeed, but only 49 percent expressed confidence that they would. So apparently what Barry still has going for him then, which I really don't understand why, is a personal popularity. I fail to understand how it is that anyone can respect, let alone actually like, an individual who is so patently dishonest and corrupt and is an individual will say or do absolutely anything, true to not, to achieve his very questionable objectives. This man is nothing more than a congenital liar. And if there is one thing that I detest more than anything else it is a liar. How can you come to place where you like someone that you cannot trust as far as you can throw them? Seventy-three percent of those responding to the CNN poll said they like the president on a personal level, but only 48 percent said they approve of the job he is doing as president. So I find myself wondering just what kind of values those individuals have who make up that 73 percent might be. What does it say about someone who is so willing to place their trust in an individual known as a habitual liar. Someone who places the enacting of a blatantly socialist agenda against the American people. How can you trust someone who will look you dead in the eye and lie with such ease?


Although it has been repeatedly claimed that he granted "major concessions" to GOP leaders in a tax deal negotiated during the just-concluded lame duck session of Congress, 61 percent of Republican respondents said they hope Barry's policies will fail. Look, anyone with half a brain knows that it wasn't Barry who made a major concessions. He got much more than he gave away. The legislation the extended to Bush tax cuts still contained far too much unfunded and wasteful spending. I was a firm supporter in simply allowing the tax cuts to die so that they could then be taken up with Republicans controlling the House and when we would have more true conservatives in the Senate. But it was not to be as once again when handed an opportunity to excel, the Republicans went squishy. I do wonder though, that if once the Republicans do start attempting to roll things back, and they started getting pummeled nearly hourly in the state run media, will the people continue to be of the same opinion. Will they be in favor of the requisite austerity that is needed in order to get our fiscal house in order. Or will they decide that what needs to be done is just too difficult and in the end join with the Democrats and the many media misfits in accusing the Republicans of being mean. For that matter will the Republicans wilt under the pressure that is sure to come from our very leftist media? Just questions to ponder. I've lost count of the number of times I have been disappointed by those who claim to be on the side of the Constitution. Well I guess we'll just have to wait and see regarding how all this will pan out. So how about we all keep our fingers crossed?
