ANOTHER ENTERTAINER WHO SHOULD KEEP HIS SCREWY OPINIONS TO HIMSELF

I’ve often wondered why entertainers of any stripe, being acting, singing or whatever, feel that they are just so much smarter than those of us to buy their CDs or tickets to their, usually very bad, movies. Another perfect example of this is Grammy award-winning, and apparently somewhat senile, singer Tony Bennett who is of the opinion that no one can “blame” Barry “Almighty” for “anything” given the “heavy load” he “inherited.” The “heavy load” he “inherited?” Earth to Tony, Earth to Tony, come in please, it’s been over two years it’s time to move on! Obama is “very encouraged about the arts but don’t forget he’s had a heavy load,” said Bennett on Wednesday at the U.S. Capitol. “I mean, what he inherited as a president -- they can’t blame him for anything because they created all of the trouble for him” Bennett continued, “I think he’s fine. I think he’s great. What’s wrong with having an intelligent man as President?” Hey Tony, I think it’s well past the time that you should be thinking about going to The Home.

Bennett made the comment while visiting Capitol Hill to support the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM). NAMM is a “not-for-profit association that unifies, leads and strengthens the $17 billion global musical instruments and products industry.” Bennett said a “good education” is lacking in the music industry today. “A good education – that’s what we’re trying to do, with my wife, is to educate the children so they can learn music,” said Bennett. “Right now they’re playing three chords and two of them are wrong.” He added that every public school should have an arts program. “Cutting the arts would be tragic,” he said. Look, if arts are to be cut from out public schools who should really be blamed for that. Teachers unions, with the help of Democrats and much to the detriment of students, control the public school system. Taxpayers here in America foot a bigger bill for education than in any other industrialized nation on the planet. Money that is wasted and misused on things totally unrelated to actually educating our children.

When asked what arts initiatives Congress should support, Bennett said, “I have no idea. It’s up to them. All I know is if they cut the arts, they’re cutting America right in half because what are we going to do with the young people?” “What about their life?” said Bennett. “They should be inspired to be better and better. Our country should do better and better things for the rest of the world and ourselves.” Sorry there, Tony, but this is but one more area where the government has no business being involved in spending MY tax money. The government is already way too involved in how our kids get educated/indoctrinated. This sounds like a perfect example for funding through private donations, not through more taxpayer money. Especially Tony, since WE’RE BROKE! And as far as doing better things for the rest of the World, who is it, exactly, that Tont thinks does more good in this World than America?
