ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF OBAMA'S MAGICAL, MYSTICAL, "ALL OF THE ABOVE" ENERGY POLICY...

Now I'm sure everyone is quite familiar with Barry's "all of the above" energy policy. But apparently this much talked about plan, at least as far as the Outer Continental Shelf in concerned, does not include any new oil and gas leases in the Atlantic Ocean over at least the next five years. But, strangely enough, it does include, of all things, windmills. The Interior Department headed up by that complete imbecile, Ken Salazar, wants to lease nearly 278,000 acres off the coasts of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Virginia for wind energy. Wind energy, is that not the stupidest thing you've ever heard?

Now these lease sales, which are to be held sometime next year, will be the first-ever competitive sales on the Outer Continental Shelf for wind energy, and the Interior Department, being ever so proud of itself, describes the lease sales as "major milestones" in its wind energy program. "Wind energy along the Atlantic holds enormous potential, and today we are moving closer to tapping into this massive domestic energy resource to create jobs, increase our energy security and strengthen our nation’s competitiveness in this new energy frontier," Salazar said on Friday.

Trying to sound like they know what knows what he's doing here, this doofus, Salazar, continued by spewing the idiotic propaganda that we heard throughout the campaign, "We are implementing the President’s all-of-the-above strategy by focusing on developing areas with the lowest potential conflicts and the greatest expected gains. As we experience record domestic oil and gas development, we are moving forward at the same time with efforts to ensure that America continues to lead the world at developing the energy of the future." And how do you spell, BULLSHIT?

The administration's Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) oil and gas leasing program for 2012-2017 "does not include areas off the Atlantic coast for leasing," the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management says in something called a fact sheet. Big shock there, right? "Areas off the Pacific coast are not included," either. New domestic oil and gas development is taking place only in the Gulf of Mexico and offshore Alaska. The oil industry has been, and continues to be, very frustrated by the administration's outright refusal to grant new oil and gas leases off the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts.

It was just this past June that the Institute for Energy Research, a free-market energy policy group, accused Barry, and his little cadre of climate change fanatics, of turning their backs on "potentially enormous energy resources that could provide jobs and energy security for America." By imposing what is a "unilateral executive embargo" on new OCS oil and gas leases in the Atlantic and Pacific, it said, the Barry is providing to the American people access to "a mere fraction of the offshore resources they own." But this is of very little interest to Barry, because it's not part of his agenda.

In Friday's announcement, Salazar made the claim that the wind energy leases are part of a overall plan that is designed to develop the "full range" of energy resources on the Outer Continental Shelf. Barry believes new oil lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska are enough to support the idiotic claim that he is continuing to increase domestic oil and gas production, which "has grown each year the President has been in office," the Interior Department noted in what is nothing more than an attempt to perpetuate the myth that oil production is increasing on government land, which it is not anywhere near being true.

Domestic oil production last year was higher than at any time in nearly a decade; and natural gas production is at its highest level ever, or so says the administration. It also claims that foreign oil imports now account for less than 50 percent of the oil consumed in America, the lowest level since 1995. But funny thing, the highest percentage of oil and gas production is actually taking place on private lands because Barry refuses to issue any permits allowing exploration to take place anywhere on government owned lands. The amount of which seems to be increasing on nearly a daily basis.

The proposed lease sales announced on Friday include two "Wind Energy Areas", one about 27 miles off of the Virginia coast and the other about 10 miles off the Massachusetts-RI coasts. "Holding competitive lease sales on the wind-rich east coast is ushering in a new chapter in America’s development of renewable energy," said Deputy Interior Secretary David Hayes. "By working closely with Rhode Island and the other states to identify the best areas for offshore wind farms, winning bidders will have a clear pathway to successfully harness our world-class offshore wind resource." But at what cost to the taxpayers, I wonder?

I just love all of the new lingo dreamed up by these incompetent boobs now in charge of our so-called energy policies. You know, terms like "wind-rich." I mean here we sit atop the most 'oil-rich' nation on the planet, and we're just supposed to ignore that fact? In their effort to sell us on this idiocy, I can only assume that they must think we're all pretty stupid, and granted, a great many of us are. But come on! While I am in favor of pursuing alternative forms of energy, it just seems rather foolish to do so at the expense of not taking the fullest advantage possible of the other energy sources that we have been blessed with in this country.

Yup, so we are again made to confront the consequences resulting directly from our being stupid enough to re-elect this guy, Barry. This kind of crap makes no sense except for the fact that Barry is desperate to raise the cost of using fossil fuels, that one source of energy that America possesses more of than any other country on the planet. Barry is at war with fossil fuels and those who would dare to make a living off of producing them. His goal here is to make them cost prohibitive. He wants $10 a gallon gasoline, and to have it cost us $1000 a month just to heat and cool our homes. And trust me, that's where this is headed!

OBAMA EXPANDS HIS WAR ON FOSSIL FUELS…

Now that the election is safely behind him and he has been successfully re-elected, with the help of our society’s parasites and the state-controlled media, Barry has now ordered his Interior Department, on Friday, to issue a final plan to close 1.6 million acres of federal land in the West originally slated for oil shale development. The proposed plan would fence off a majority of the initial blueprint laid out in the final days of the George W. Bush administration. While it faces a 30-day protest period and a 60-day process to ensure it is consistent with local and state policies, the department will render a decision for implementation. In other words, it’s a done deal and we the American people get screwed yet again!

It should be obvious that this latest move by Barry is sure to rankle most, if not all, Republicans and is something they are not in agreement with. They say Barry’s grip on drilling in federal lands is too tight. Supposedly, the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management cited bogus environmental concerns for the proposed changes. Among other things, it labeled lands with the catchall nomenclature of "wilderness characteristics" and areas that conflicted with sage grouse habitats. Under his plan, roughly 677,000 acres in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming would be open for oil shale exploration. Another 130,000 acres in Utah would be set aside for tar sands production. And as recent history would indicate, the areas left will most likely provide the lowest possibility of a positive outcome.

And still Barry’s administration and congressional Democrats attempt to persuade us how wonderful this plan is and how they are doing more than anyone else in the effort to make us energy independent. And it’s all lies! Accord to this scum, the plan, while significantly curtailing the options that were originally sought for oil shale development, would still supposedly open up what is defined as a significant amount of land that was previously unavailable for the energy production method. And in trying to portray this plan as somehow being a boon, Barry also made the claim that the plan pushed forward Friday also included two research, development and demonstration (RD&D) leases for oil shale development.

Doing his best to put lipstick on this pig of a deception being perpetrated against the American people, some spokesmoron for the Interior Department, some jerk named Blake Androff said, "The proposed plan supports the Administration’s all-of-the-above approach to explore the full potential our nation’s domestic energy resources and to develop innovative technology and techniques that will lead to safe and responsible production of resources, including oil shale and tar sands, which industry recognizes are years from being commercially viable, but require RD&D today." What a load of Barry "Almighty" crap! Come on, does these idiots really think we’re that stupid. Granted the retards who voted for Barry might, but not the rest of us.

And then we have Sen. Mark Udall, DEMOCRAT, who, of coursed, praised the plan, actuallly said that Barry had exercised the right amount of caution on oil shale development, which has not yet been brought to commercial scale and brings concerns about the amount of water used in the practice. "I am glad the Interior Department is taking measured steps to encourage research and development of our oil shale resources. With water being one of our most precious commodities in the West, I have concerns about the potential impacts of commercial oil shale development. Nonetheless, I look forward to seeing this technology explored further," Udall said in a Friday statement. And again, only those who voted for Barry are likely to believe such drivel.

Oil shale development is not to be confused with drilling into shale formations for oil and natural gas. The practice, which involves separating hydrocarbons bound up in rocks, has not been widely executed since Exxon's failed Colorado venture in the 1980s. Bobby McEnaney, senior lands analyst with some nutty environmental group called the Natural Resources Defense Council, praised Interior Secretary Ken Salazar for the proposed final plan. "By significantly reducing the acreage of wilderness potentially available for leasing, Secretary Salazar is laying out a creative, thoughtful and more responsible approach in managing some of our most precious resources," McEnaney said in a Friday statement.

Congressional Republicans, of course, are not likely to be as pleased nor should any American who disagrees with policies that has us sitting atop massive energy reserves and fail to take advantage of them as our energy prices continue to go up. GOP lawmakers, along with some Democrats, have pushed for more fossil fuel production in the West. Republicans have led the charge, saying Barry’s policies on fossil fuel drilling on federal lands are far too restrictive. While Barry likes to brag that domestic oil-and-gas production has increased during his administration, Republicans point out that it is activity on private and state land that is driving the boost. They point to this year’s significant dip in oil-and-gas production on federal land.

The Congressional Western Caucus released a report this past August that was designed to deliver that very same message. "This proposal will place further limitations on the exploration and development of our country’s natural resources and is yet another example of how this administration continues to stand in the way of North American energy independence," Rep. Ed Whitfield (R-Ky.), the chairman of House Energy and Commerce's subcommittee on Energy and Power, said in a recent statement. Oil and gas lobby the American Petroleum Institute (API), an ally of congressional Republicans, slammed the decision. And knowing how uninformed most Americans are, I doubt many even knew about any of this, it may not have mattered anyway.

Jack Gerard, API’s chief, said Thursday he would take a "wait-and-see" approach to Barry's second term to gauge whether he would live up to campaign rhetoric in which he praised the domestic oil-and-gas industry. Reid Porter, the lobby's spokesman, said Friday's news was a disappointing sign from the administration. "This is another step in the wrong direction that limits development and investment in one of the nation’s most energy-rich areas and goes against a prior government decision that would allow for research and development over a much wider geographical area. Just days after the election this decision by the administration sends negative signals to industry and capital markets at a time when we need to encourage growth and innovation in the U.S.," Porter said.

Look, I think we all know what’s behind this. Barry’s insists on using bogus claims of climate change as a way to drive up energy costs so that the can then, through such economy killing policies as "Cap and Trade" garner more cash for the government. And he also sees it as a way to allow the government to creep even farther into our lives. So I have a little message for all of the brain dead parasites who voted for this creep, when the price of gas doubles again, like it did during Barry’s first term, and it costs us all $1000 a month just to heat our homes in the winter and cool them in the summer don’t come crying to me. Of course, those leeches will most likely be getting everything free, or heavily subsidized, from the government at taxpayer expense.
