In an email sent out just this past weekend by the
Democrat Party, Barry “Almighty” made it very clear that if it’s the very last
thing he is able to do, he is determined to rip guns from the hands of law
abiding Americans. And in so doing, he
urged his many devoted followers to join with him in his effort to enact ever-stricter
gun laws. Devoted followers who, like
Barry, have very little interest in, or respect for, what our Constitution
actually says.
Barry begins his idiotic little rant in very typical
form by saying, "We have not gone more than eight days without a mass
shooting in this country this year."
And he then goes on to say, "That means that each week, more
families are grieving, more communities are being pieced back together. As a
nation, we're holding everyone affected by these heartbreaking events in our
prayers." But, he goes on to add,
prayers simply are not enough.
The email also provides a handy little link to a
Democrats.org webpage where those who chose to do so can add their name to a
petition to support Barry’s cause. In
what is obviously an effort on his part to boost the seriousness of the issue
as he sees it, Barry also goes on to make the claim that there have been more
than 300 mass shootings in the United States so far in 2015, killing nearly 400
and injuring 1,000. An exaggeration to
say the least.
And then in what I’m assuming was a reference to a
statement by GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush after the October Oregon
community college shooting, Barry said, "We can't sweep this problem under
the rug, or allow ourselves to become numb to it, or accept that there's
nothing we can do because 'stuff happens.'" But what is something that is being swept
under the rug is the sheer volume of gun laws, already on the books, that go
unenforced.
Barry says, "Let me be clear about this: Unless
we do something – change our politics and change our laws – these painful
tragedies will continue." Now of
course he doesn’t bother to not lay out any sort of a specific strategy. Barry says the issue is not about the Second
Amendment, but about "commonsense reform measures" the American
people ‘want’. Despite his previous
attempts at executive actions, Barry says, "I cannot change this by
myself.”
Barry goes on to say, "I need members of
Congress, state legislatures, and governors who will work with me." And he adds, "And I need people like you
to stand up and say that enough is enough." And then in trying to sound motivational, I
guess, Barry proudly cites what he refers to as those things he view as being
Democrat gains. You know such as
Obamacare, same-sex marriage and climate change. Things that any sane person views as being
anything but gains.
Barry said, "But this is one thing we haven't
been able to do." And he went on to
say, "We have not reformed our gun laws to help reduce the unnecessary
deaths we see in this country every single day." But it is not too late, he said, "by
making sure we urge future leaders to act where we have been stalled.” Perhaps if Barry’s focus was more on the actual
enforcement of gun laws that which he claims to care so much about, unnecessary
deaths, would actually be reduced.
And so it would seem then, that when Barry’s not
busying himself releasing thousands of drug offenders from prison, or allowing
untold numbers of those who are in this country illegally to remain here even
after committing any number of violent crimes or even closing down Guantanamo Bay
and bringing the terrorists locked up there here to American soil, he’s busy
trying to come up with new ways to redefine our Second Amendment right to keep
and bear arms.
