DEMOCRATS, NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF WHINERS…
Someone really should tell the Democrats about how it is that no one really likes a whiner. Democrat candidates for the House are crying foul about the fact that they are being lambasted in Republican campaign commercials for having voted to raise the national debt ceiling. Now while I suppose they may have somewhat of a point when they claim these votes came at the behest of Speaker John Boehner, I can’t say I have much sympathy for them especially after hearing some of the many baseless claims that they have made against the Republicans.
And yes I’m quite familiar with that old adage that says, "Two wrongs don’t make a right." But having said that, I really don’t mind in the least that the Republicans would now seem to be playing the game by using the Democrat Rule that says, "All is fair in love and politics." And let’s face it, are not the Democrats doing little more than to be the pot calling the kettle black? I mean like the supposed "war on women" that they’re continually bringing up. I’m no fan of Boehner’s but I do derive some level of enjoyment from watching Democrats whine.
And I guess there are those on both sides of the aisle who are also saying that the ads are somewhat hypocritical and could make it difficult for the GOP leadership to garner Democrat support for any future debt limit votes. So are these people actually saying that the Democrats would take any step that might have an adverse effect on Barry’s ability to continue to spend even more of the money that we don’t? Somehow I very seriously doubt that. Let’s face it, the Democrats are just as eager as Barry is when it comes to racking up as much debt as they can.
But as expected, the GOP's congressional campaign committee has, of course, defended the ads. Spokeswoman Andrea Bozek said, "Democrats and Republicans couldn't be further apart on the issue of spending" And she went on to say, "Democrats caused the problem we are in with the policies they support, like Obamacare and the failed stimulus, and want to continue to give President Obama a blank check. Republicans know Washington has a spending problem and will continue to fight for a balanced budget." I would argue that I wish they would fight a bit harder.
We’re told that the Republican ‘leadership’, and I use that term somewhat loosely, will likely need Democrat support in 2015 when there will once again be the need to raise debt ceiling. Personally, I wish there would be enough members of conscious who would have it within themselves to refuse to do so and instead recommend that what needed is to start cutting spending. But I doubt that will happen as the most recent vote in February to raise the debt ceiling had the support of 193 out of 201 Democrats but only 28 out of 234 Republicans.
Now personally, and you can take this any way you want, I hate Democrats, primarily because they hate this country and the fact that it has been under this president that they have become all the more determined in their efforts to destroy it. So I really care very little about what tactics are used in the attempt to reduce their numbers. Because the way I see it, if the Republicans do gain control of the Senate together with their maintaining control of the House, the result may well be the briefest window of opportunity to correct things, or to at least get things moving in the right direction.
But if instead of doing what we all recognize as being what they SHOULD do, the Republicans choose to only squander the opportunity with which they will have been provided, to do so will only result in effectively sabotaging their party’s chances not only regarding 2016, but for many elections to come. And I think that’s what the Democrats will be banking on. With the Republicans having complete control of Congress in the two years leading up to the next presidential election, Democrats, I’m sure, are banking on the fact that they will have, by then, plenty of fresh ammunition.
