LESTER HOLT, ANOTHER STERLING EXAMPLE OF ALL THAT’S WRONG WITH OUR ‘NEWS’ MEDIA…

Even in the old days I don’t think we were ever able to trust those in our ‘news’ media, regardless of network, to tell us the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Even old Walter Cronkite was known to put a bit of leftist spin on what he was supposedly reporting on. But I have to say, it was even with all their faults that I find myself yearning for those old days. Because here in 2021 what we fondly refer to as being our ‘news’ media is really nothing more than a joke as it has become worth paying very little attention to, and never believed. And those clowns on the local news are certainly no better, it’s as if they’re looking for their shot at the bigtime.

So this latest little rant of mine was inspired by none other than another of those who  takes great pride in his profession of ‘journalism,’ Lester Holt. You see, it was on Tuesday of this week that Holt, the NBC ‘News’ anchor, took it upon himself to scold his colleagues in the ‘news’ media for giving “misinformation” coverage. You see, it was during his acceptance of the Edward R. Murrow Award for Lifetime Achievement in Journalism that Holt chose to criticize the idea of always covering both sides of a given debate, what a concept. He said, “I think it’s become clearer that fairness is overrated.” Oh yes, by all means Lester, fairness is way, WAY overrated!

And he went on to say, “Before you run off and tweet that headline, let me explain a bit. The idea that we should always give two sides equal weight and merit does not reflect the world we find ourselves in.” And added, “That the sun sets in the west is a fact. Any contrary view does not deserve our time or attention.” Holt pointed to “recent events” to make his point, including the January 6 Capitol riots, and the popularity of coronavirus conspiracy theories. Giving such content oxygen is, according to this dolt Holt, “not a dereliction of journalistic responsibility or some kind of agenda.” Of course it’s an agenda. Does this boob think we’re stupid?

He said, “Providing an open platform for misinformation for anyone to come and say whatever they want, especially when issues of public health and safety are at stake can be quite dangerous.” He continued by saying, “Our duty is to be fair to the truth … we need to hear our leaders’ views, their policies, and reasoning. It’s really important. But we have to stand ready to push back and call out falsehoods.” Holt did, however, recognize that calling for the change could “reenforce negative sentiment some hold about journalists,” but said the need to be “more direct in our language” shows “the volume and gravity of particular statements and claims.”

And perhaps the most telling thing admitted to by this boob was when he said, “Fact-checking is not a vendetta. We all have a stake in us getting it right.” So let me ask old Lester a question. When, during the entire four years of the Trump presidency, did he, or any of his many colleagues, ever once demonstrate that they had ANY interest whatso-freaking-ever in getting ANYTHING right? That would be, NEVER. All that I saw coming from any of these twisted propagandists, even those who claimed to “fair and balanced,’ and all under the guise of ‘journalism’ was nothing more than the exercising of a vendetta, plain and simple. So Lester is very clearly full of shit!

Holt claims, “Our duty is to be fair to the truth?” But it’s these media types who have appointed themselves the final arbiters of truth. The problem with that is they are as partisan and as prejudiced as the people they attack. They deem their opinions to be facts. They recite ‘facts’ such as CNN’s contention that gender cannot be determined at birth and that globally cooling was ‘settled science’ in the 1970s. Then they decided that Manhattan would be under water by now due to global warming. People who disagreed were dismissed as “flat earthers.” Skepticism is healthy. I can decide for myself what’s true. These clowns are the last ones from whom I expect the truth.

Holt’s arrogance comes shining through. But Holt is a blatant hypocrite. He uses ‘I am right, you are wrong’ as an excuse to shut down debate because he knows he really has no hope of being able to defend himself or his position in any actual debate. Media types like Holt epitomize the reason why so many Americans no longer trust those in the ‘mainstream’ media to tell them the truth. His personal biases take precedence above all else. The distinction between the way the ‘fake news’ media fawns over the ‘Creepy Joe’s administration and perpetually attacked the Trump administration is blatantly obvious to anyone with a modicum of commonsense.

And in how many instances have those in our ‘fake news’ media, old Lester included, ever been heard to report a story as being factual yet has as its source someone “unnamed” with it later coming to light that the story has absolutely no basis in truth? Of course, the damage is already done by then. What consequences are there for those responsible for reporting the misinformation? Does Russia collusion ring a bell? Or when those in the ‘fake news’ media declared that ‘Creepy Joe’ had clearly won fairly and squarely with there being no one need to investigate anything. That’s not merely taking sides, that’s being an overt accomplice to the advancing of tyranny.

And I’m guessing when he says, “We all have a stake in us getting it right,” what he really means is to ignore a obviously senile presidential candidate and the obvious criminal activities of his son, 99 percent of the riots that took place last summer, peace agreements in the Middle East, the severe impact of illegal immigrants on crime and wages, the fact that one political party has no problem with killing a fully formed fetus seconds before birth and selling his or her butchered remains to research labs, a four year Russian hoax, a woman in Congress that married her own brother or a sitting member of Congress who dated a Chinese spy.

Also he MUST mean ignoring completely Chinese child and slave labor, Chinese concentration camps, those Democrat governors who sent tens of thousands of elderly nursing home patients to an early grave, minority crime in general and the overall abhorrent conditions of Democrat run cities, the misogyny of rap lyrics, the opioid crisis, oligarch excess and their insistence on exporting manufacturing jobs, the decimating impact of the ‘Chinese virus’ restrictions on ordinary Americans and on and on and on. If that’s what you mean Mr. Holt, you and your comrades have actually done a great job, and you should enthusiastically pat yourself on the back.

Tolerance is overrated, as is inclusiveness, diversity and multiculturalism. As concepts they would not even exist had they not been talked into existence in the ‘fake news’ media. Over the last four years the preponderance of misinformation directed at the American has had as its source these liars who profess to be journalists but who are anything but, and totally without apology whenever their lies are proven to be false. Stating one’s opinion and mislabeling it as news, is seen as fair. Labelling your opinions as truth when all they are is a bunch of talking points you’re paid to parrot. You can call lies truth, but that doesn’t make them anything other than lies.

Our country is being destroyed before our very eyes, and instead of keeping the American people appraised of exactly what their leaders are truly up to, those who we’re supposed to be able to count on to tell us the truth, seem far more focused on doing the complete opposite. A conscious decision has been made by those like Holt, to keep the American people in the dark, to the greatest extent possible, regarding how it is that their country is now in the process of being completely dismantled. And Holt actually admits he’s nothing but a fraud, as he claims that it’s those in the media who must decide what does and does not deserve attention to be paid to it.
