LITTLE JONNY LEIBOWITZ…

Little Jonny Leibowitz, that not-so-funny former host of the Daily Show and liberal America's favorite spokesperson, isn't sure that America has ever really been all that great of a country. And apparently not even all the extra zeroes it has allowed him to add to his bank account could persuade him.  Imagine that.  And it was in joining David ‘My Mommy is a Commie’ Axelrod at the University of Chicago earlier this week for the podcast "The Axe Files with David Axelrod," Leibowitz took issue with Donald Trump's campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again."

And it was in referencing Trump that Leibowitz proceeded to come a bit unhinged.  He said, "When was America great? What is this time that he speaks of? ‘81 to ‘82?  Like, what are we talking about?  And who took your country away from you?  Who’s country... Who’s country is it? Take up the argument with the Founders. Take it up with the Age of Reason. That’s — All men are created equal. That’s f***ed the whole thing up.”  So here’s a guy who were he to live in any other country on the planet would never have progressed beyond the selling of pencils on a street corner.

And Jonny went on to say, "As far as I can tell, the conservative side, or the right side, they feel an ownership over America. They are the stewards of America. They are its forbears... Republicans, conservatives love America. They just hate, like, 50 percent of the people living in it."  Jonny pinned conservatives as the truly "triggered" when it comes to political correctness. When someone says Muslims are "evil and shouldn't be allowed in this country" -- though no one has said that -- Leibowitz thinks conservatives are thinking that's just "telling it like it is."

Jonny went on to add, "But God forbid you say happy holidays in December, it’s f***ing war."  You see, he’s another one of those hypocritical leftwing elites who see themselves as being just oh so much smarter than the rest of us.  And because they are so much smarter, we’re expected to take seriously what it is that they have so say about the issues they say are the most important.  You know, issues like climate change, illegal immigration, drugs and abortion.  And we’re supposed to just shut up and go along with whatever it is that they say.

So Jonny wants to know when America was great.  Well, Jonny, it was great when a man could get a job if he wanted to work. And if he didn't WANT to work, he'd starve. It was great when your kid could play outside till the streetlights came on and you didn't have to worry about them running into one of the many perverts who are now allowed to freely roam the streets.  And I think it was great when people were judged and rewarded by the content of their character and work ethic rather than by the color of their skin and affirmative action.  And that, Jonny, is just to name a few.
